So many incredible memories at this place. Growing up we used to play hide and go seek in the caves for hours. You can truly get lost there (but in a good way)!
St Louis has the coolest places. City museum, magic house, science center, botanical gardens, and a city zoo that is FREE!
And the Arch.
I’m totally biased, but I think it’s so underrated. Go Cards!
i wouldn’t even call it a museum. It’s literally a fever dream. It is so random and feels so dangerous at some points but it truly makes it part of the experience. There’s nook’s everywhere that lead to amazing places. I definitely recommend pockets *WITH* zippers just because there’s tons of areas where you can drop items like phones 100+ feet. Also going with a buddy makes it fun and more safer.
-many areas are not large friendly. This area is truly made for kids 10-18ish so if your tall, buff, chunky or just big…maybe not the best thing. Sure there’s definitely areas that you can go to but expect 70% of the total areas to be inescapable. Anyways just a total blast, food courts, near union station, etc. St. louis is a literal fever dream!
It's amazing.
This is the best video I have found of the City Museum. Thank you for this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@CanobieCoaster I’m so excited to have something I can share with people when I want to show them all this place has to offer. St Louis isn’t always the first place people think to travel to, but we love St Louis!
Thank you for this video I am able to relive my childhood when I lived in St. Louis as a child,
You're welcome.
St. Louis is technically my native hometown but I haven't been back since I was a baby. This is definitely a place I've wanted to visit for a long time. There was a time when I probably wouldn't have had the mobility to manage it, but I am a cyborg now.
It has non physical things worth seeing too.
A physical "House On the Rock" A clear example of a mans imagination & will to see it through. St. Louis is an amazing city with a rich history. I did the Arch, Museum of Transport over 20 yrs. ago. Does not surprise me that they'd have this incredible attraction as well. While climbing is no longer my thing, there is still plenty of other things for me to do. Great video!
Thanks!
This looks absolutely amazing! I had no idea such a place existed!
It's one-of-a-kind.
This is one of the reasons I love growing up in st louis
It's fantastic.
COOL review. what an amazing place. i love sitting in the bar there and playing the vintage games. St Louis is so cool. i love those swivel chairs on the roof.
There are so many cool things.
I love this place! Great memories with my friends a couple years ago on the outdoor area
Nice!
Thank you for the informative video!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video. The kids and I are looking forward to attending. 🙌🏼
Have fun!
I have read about City Museum and was intrigued by it. St Louis and Missouri are on my radar for 2025, and I will make it a point to come here.
Well worth it.
I grew up coming here once a year! So many memories haha
Nice!
I went here with a bunch of friends and it was the highlight of our trip to st. Luis. We got lost so many times and I loved it. Even though it rained bad the outside area was closed, the ocean steam punky area more than made up for it.
The indoor area is still awesome.
Unfortunately I've only been to this place once, but I remember it being really fun! I wish there were more places like this, where it's easy to get lost and your always finding new weird areas. I think normal playgrounds could stand to take some inspiration from the city museum. If/when my siblings have kids I'll make it a priority to bring them here.
I wish there were more places like it, but the uniqueness is part of the allure.
Awesome video! I’ll be coming here next i’m at SFSL
I honestly prefer it to Six Flags St. Louis.
Have you heard of the best roller coaster?
Wooden warrior.
It's an amazing place to explore, my family went when we were kids so I had some memories, expecially with whale entrance. But my sisters and I just revisited it in June of this year and it was incredible. It can be really difficult to keep track of where the rest of your party is if you are in a group. Be prepared to wake up to bruises and soreness, espically if you aren't that active.
I agree it's a Labyrinth.
This looks pretty cool
Sure is.
We are taking our grandson here the end of May. I think he will love it. Lynn and Danny
Enjoy!
I love this museum.❤
Me too.
St. Louis as a whole is on my bucket list and this place is one of the reasons why
I enjoyed the city.
I’d never heard of this place, but it looks right up my street.
It's amazing.
I remember going to this when I was little, it was so cool. The mail shoots being slides, the airplanes, the fire truck... I always found this 1 latter connecting the 2 planes together sketchy and it had what I thought was this 1 loose bolt and you look straight down while climbing it so I was terrified. It was super cool though all the stuff there was here.
I love how weird this place is.
Looks super cool!! I'll try to get here this year, it's basically a giant indoor/outdoor playplace
It is.
This looks like fun for people of any age
It is.
love this place.
Me too.
Those big slides look intense
In the right clothes they are.
I went here in 2019. Pretty cool
Cool!
I got to go to an overnight lock in here as a child. It was one of the most magical and memorable experiences of my life
Nice!
Okay so I grew up in the St Louis area and never seen this place wow! But I’m also not the person that would actively seek out a place like this because we had plenty of free playgrounds when I was a kid. Today I am looking for some playtime for my toddler since children today can’t just go outside by themselves. So cool, I’m definitely going to check it out. Right now my toddler is 2 years old so I may waist my money but we are trying things out/exploring new things
Just make sure not to lose them in the maze of activities.
I wonder if the tunnel underground is still there. I have...bad memories of it as a kid. It was like a 3x3 ditch cut into the ground, with some glass blocks in the top for light.
That was blocked off in my visit.
@@CanobieCoaster makes sense, it's a very enclosed space that'd be impossible to clean.
The aquarium used to be much bigger. Now, there's a new aquarium at Union Station. They also have a ferris wheel, carousel, fountain + fire show, light show, mini golf, mirror maze and rope course. It's nice to have another attraction downtown, since it's so hard to get out to Six Flags without a car.
The only differences I’ve noticed since premier took over are the closure of the two slides you’ve mentioned and shorter hours. The city museum used to regularly stay open until midnight most days but now they close at 5 or 6 pm most days.
I really hope those extreme ones reopen someday.
I’m surprised we don’t have places like this closer
I can only imagine what their insurance is.
We took a lot of family trips there! Also if your tall, expect to hit your head multiple times.
I had to be careful.
@@CanobieCoaster I bet!
I went here 9 years ago with a big group of friends and I loved it. I think knee pads are a must with the amount of crawling you do. Did you get a chance to do the hamster wheel?
I did not. Where even is that?
@@CanobieCoaster It was in the vault room but I just learned it was removed in 2021. It honestly makes sense because it was pretty easy to get hurt on.
Interesting! Can you rank the top 15 rides at Silver Dollar City? I’m going and would like to know what I should prioritize.
I am on the fence since I still haven't been on Mystic River Falls and that's one of their bigger rides.
Outlaw Run is the coaster that made me a coaster enthusiast
@@ryanmcdonnell5988 good to know. Does it usually get long lines in early July?
@@ThemeParkAvenue kind of. The Ops are insanely fast on Outlaw Run, I'd say do Powder Keg first since it gets the longest lines. Time Traveller stays pretty consistent 40 to 45 minutes in wait time. The others at most 30min waits.
@@ThemeParkAvenue just don't go there during spring break
So cool! Adults allowed to play like kids! Wish it was closer
Me too.
My favorite place in STL
It's awesome.
In your opinion, what's the best row to ride Lightning Rod?
Front is quite a bit better in the morning. Even between front and back once warm.
Wow. A museum where you can just run around and play (in most areas at least). I never would've even guessed that sucj a place exists.
In America especially.
So I have a question about this place. Before u go in a do the slides and other interactive stuff, do u have to sign a waiver or no?
I don't recall signing one, so surprisingly no.
@@CanobieCoaster wow, im suprised. Because some of those courses look like u can get hurt on
@@bukemdukem1870 you do. i can’t tell you how many bruises i have from here lmao. they sell knee and leg guards in the gift shop
I was there yesterday, no waiver
The slide at 5:24 looks awesome shame it was closed
I've ridden them in past visits.
Did you notice the little fan outside the window of that elevator that makes you go to the rooftop.
I did not.
What does ladder mean
Latter, the last
So what sort of historical stuff does it have?
Assorted exhibits.
I haven't been there in a long time since I'm a single guy in my 30s. At the same time, it's the number one place I tell people to visit when they come here. There's just simply no place like it in the world.
It's incredible.
I lost my kids here it took me 2 hours to find them besides a mild scare it was amazing
I can see how that could be an issue here.
Actually, the exhibits only covers 4 stories. The upper levels are storage.
Ah ok, thanks!
I visited with a worker at the front gate, he told me I think it's the 5th floor, is actually high end apartments, people live there!
Place is like Alice in wonderland on acid. Awesome!
So many weird and colorful sights.
Would you rather visit here over going to six flags st. Louis for the day?
Half day at each is the best compromise.
I gotta go here some day. it's like 12 year old me got an unlimited budget. or if Meow Wolf did a McDonald's play place
Yes
The slide look dangerous... Waterslides without water?
But can be fun and unique
They're slick unlike water slides without water.
This place looks great and unametican. It reminds me of european playgrounds and fun houses where nobody cares if you break your neck or leg.
Pretty much!
Ha ha im from st.louis
And the front desk has a sign that says "WANT A MAP? GET LOST!"
Lol
google headquarters could never.
This place is nuts.
As much fun this would be, I'm claustrophobic so I would not have fun.
The slides and climbs definitely box you in.
This looks like a McDonald's playplace on steroids!
Pretty much
I went to the city museum and it was the worst thing that ever happened to me
Oh no! I've only had good experiences there.
