After the 10minute mark it was all TRASH !!!!
What would be a total cost for all that work you guys put into that challenger ?
You are suppose to connect the other side of the oil catch can system back to the intake manifold so it has a vacuum/boost reference to assist the flow of gases through the catch can. Otherwise it’s worthless
This challenger is amazing great work guys I been following this build faithfully
I never seen an oil catch can with just one line... I’m baffled...
it's completely worthless. the oil will just pool in the line.
You can do it that way but you need to tune the car for speed density / maf delete. At this point its just a vent to atmosphere. You would also want to cap off the fresh air pcv line or it will be able to back vent inside the intake also.
@@CamaroRick exactly.
So I am not the only one who thought WTF. My pcv value runs on a vaccum
I know, I rushed down here to see what the topic is about that catch can. I know I'm not crazy because, Capping off the Port that dumps the Fumes to the PCV defeats the Purpose of the Catch can in the first place... 😳
Let all these commenters talk trash about the car ... Ill sit back and cross my finger that I win this beast. I never complain about anything that’s given to me, especially a free car. I appreciate all your work and the vendors who came together to make this happen.
Love it!
Sweet info comercial
hundred percent my dream car
drilled rotors are good if you like cracks in ur rotors
I have no cracks on my drilled/slotted
@@braxwright31 do you track it often?
@@einar8019 No
dont know what year you was born but the way to get rid of those crank case fumes is to use a vane pump like an old smog pump and plumb it post turbo into the exhaust. we built venturis that went between the 4 tubes of the header collector
Of all things to replace, the brembos wouldn't be one of them because they work great and stop my 2010 just fine. The SRT crew went with 6 pistons up front on the newer Challengers, because they are also about 300 lbs heavier. The stock exhaust sucked on the older models, and was one of the first mods that I did on my baby. Those huge suitcase style resonators are heavy AF and are also somewhat restrictive, even though the one is used on the srt's are a larger-diameter than the ones on the 5.7. I went with open chamber racing bullets with 3" reso deleted straight pipes, all the way out the back and sounds awesome now 👍🏼
Wait…that catch can needs to be vented to work. Capping off the outlet will make it pressurized.
I’m still not understanding how the turbos don’t get covered in stuff from the road being up under the car like it they are
Bailey Hatfield it’s built to be a race car.. and that’s that, you shouldn’t be daily driving this everywhere and especially not around in the rain or through dirt lmao. You’re gonna drive this on the track or road to roll race it not to go get groceries during a thunderstorm lmfao
@@maddenwithenriqueee2628 this car isn’t worth the money then. Stupid design and there’s no defending it.
@@jadelees5671 good thing it was gifted then lmao
@@maddenwithenriqueee2628 do you have that laughing disease that joker has?
My opinion wouldn't you wanna replace those old arms? I would if they are older and rusted I would cuz they might be bad .,.plus since u already took the ball joints off id do all that together so you don't have to worry about it...
Where do you explain the oil system on how the Turbo oil drain is lower than the pan so you have to get a pump to put in back in the oil pan so you don't get burning oil?
Oh yes !
Why can’t I have a neighbor like this??😂🤣
Ok what the hell, that is NOT how to use a catch can, there's no vacuum sucking in the contaminants, let alone relieving any pressure. Do yourself a favor and just put the little filter on your oil fill spot/valve cover like pre 90s cars.
I can chime in on the oil quality issue, as you can tell by my name, I have a 612 whp EJ8 1997 Honda Civic that I built as an all around racecar, but mostly it's used as a drag car. I originally bought this car as a $1000 project car. When I bought it I got it from a 19 year old kid that knew nothing about building engines, but he rebuilt the JDM D15B 1.5L SOHC VTEC engine that he bought for it (even though it had less than 50k miles on it) and I drove it for a week before I turbocharged it with an eBay turbo kit, ARP head studs, a Cometic MLS head gasket, Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump, DSM 450cc injectors, and I chipped and socketed a P28 ECU to accept a 28 pin ZIF chip to tune on Crome. Now, I didn't know a whole lot about performance import engines at that time, but I always ran Mobil One 5w30 oil in it and even with me revving the stock engine and valve train to 9000 rpm on 10 psi with a .63 A/R T3/T4 turbo, that car NEVER gave me a problem short of not having a oil catch can on it and it blew the dipstick out (along with almost a quart of oil) at the track one day. It was alot of fun, but I decided to upgrade to a DOHC non-VTEC engine and turbo it. I did the swap from underneath by myself in my mud and gravel driveway because I didn't have a cherry picker. That engine ran unbelievably well and was really fast for a stock engine (with ARP head studs, a Cometic MLS head gasket, and the same pump and injectors). It eventually developed rod knock after 8 months of beating the hell out of it due to the fact that it had alot of miles on the bottom end and the guy that I bought it from lied to me and told me that it only had 90k miles on it when it actually had 250k. Anyway, for the next engine I went with a standard rebuild in my dirty dusty garage and a real dyno tune and it put down 408 whp on 16 psi. Always on Mobil One 5w30. It was at that point that my tuner told me that I was crazy running that thin oil. He told me that I should be running Rotella 15w40 with STP Oil Additive. I've been using that for a while and I eventually built that engine with Eagle H-beam rods, CP 9.0:1 0.030 over pistons, knife edged and micro polished crank, balanced rotating assembly, Supertech block guard, a built Civic Type-R head, Skunk2 Stage 3 Cams, and a matching valve train, Garrett GT3582R dual ball bearing turbo, Walbro 560 LPH Hellcat fuel pump, Gates 2200cc injectors, and a bunch of other parts including Hondata S300 V3 and the Hondata CPR coil on plug kit. It currently makes 612 whp on 22.5 psi and I ALWAYS use Valvoline VR1 20w50 and a Lucas Zinc additive at every oil change. That engine never misses a beat. So, what I've been saying is that even though you go to choose an oil for your car, or even your racecar (if you own a racecar you should know the difference), synthetic oil is good to use in most cases, but what you really need to pay the most attention to is the weight and viscosity of the oil. In high performance engines adding a zinc additive is almost always recommended or even required. I will ALWAYS use some type of oil additive, STP is the cheapest form of engine protection and can save your crankshaft in some cases.
I have a 1973 Plymouth fury with a 318cu in and I run 20w50 Castrol GTX in my car and you can just hear with a heavier weight oil it runs smoother too, also the first time I put it in my car it pulled a bunch of nasty shit outta the motor since the oil was thicker, It was really dark and I changed it after 2,000 miles. I change it every 3-4k miles now and it's comes out looking a lot cleaner than the first time lol
Any boost over 10psi will blow that intake pcv “cap” right off...
I hope that catch can has a vented top, or else you just make your crank case a sealed system. also, eliminating the vacuum basically just means you'll pool whatever oil splashes in the line. poor execution.
If you look at 5:36 that mesh I believe is the vent to atmosphere
@@Dieselfreak13 I correct Myself, I see what He did there, there is a Mesh on top of the catch can that basically vents those gases under the Hood 1st, Then into the atmosphere...
@@phigo4kins then what is the pvc valve for?

Didn’t these SRT8s come with no rings on the 8th piston from the factory?
TODAY IS THE DAY IS
those tires aren’t gonna be able to hand all that power, i would personally go with 295,s - 315’s
at least 315s bro
I'd try to win that beauty
We going to be on this old Challenger like a rooster on a June bug what🤔🤣😂
Ahhh NO Marc has caught Pats 'Too Many Pens in the shirt pocket' condition! Seems like they need to stage an intervention to stop him over shopping at the stationary store
Couple of things I didn't like.
Welding on the SS plumbing looks like MIG. For this kind of money should be TIG.
Air filters under the car !
Turbo oil drain back? If you put the turbo under the engine you must have a catch tank and a pump to return the turbo oil to the pan/tank.
This giveaway is not on the website how can I enter?
Never seen wheels get torqued in the air
That turbo placement keeps me up at night. In what world is that a good idea?
In the world where under hood clearance is an issue, in a world where it's simpler and requires less parts and weight to mount them on top, in a world where a lower center of gravity is better in a world where oil line plumbing could be hard...it makes more sense to mount them there from every standpoint. It's simpler to mount, you don't have to mount the exhaust forward, then backwards again, take the intake tubes down into an intercooler, then back up, when you can mount them under the car and keep it simpler and they are a bit sleeperish cause you can hide everything and nobody knows you're boosted untill you fire it up
@@mantisushi In a world with perfectly clean and dry streets. In a world were you can afford to grenade a built engine from hydro lock. In a world were you have the money to throw at a trailer queen that sees a prepped track once a month. In a world where you can wipe your ass with $15,000.
I pretty sure they can fabricate an engine splash shield out of metal to stretch from the front to the cats or u can if u want take it to the rare tires
@@johnjames2715 hydrolocking an engine is significantly more difficult than people think, especially on a larger motor. It's also cheaper and easier to install bottom mounted turbos
A big ass puddle can kill a challenger I’ve seen the aftermath and i don’t think I’d feel comfortable driving with that much power in the rain anyway
$10 a quart for that Pennzoil....so basically about $80 for an oil change
geat
I love this ride I want
That catch can is WAY too overkill. Lol
I thought that, too. What are they racing? 24 hours of Lemans?
👌🏼👌🏼
No muffler?
How about putting a hellcat engine in it lol
The turbos there doesnt get fucked by a rain or flood or something?

I wonder if they are going to race that hellcat then give it away🤷
So who won?
Who won?
Is this car gonna be a give away car??
Boy, this the commercial episode.
Turbo Suction Water under neath
So to beat a hellcat, you spend more than the price of a hellcat on a used car??
Eli Waldrep yeah your an idoit hellcat 60k + car, they spent 15k on this srt and 25k on the mods and upgrades way cheaper than hellcat
It’s about what you can build not buy
BILL NYE THE BLACK GUY that engine alone is gonna be around $10k, those turbos around $8k, that exhaust around $1k, suspension around $2k, drivetrain around $5k, new cooling system around $2k... And the list goes on. So if you even are correct on the $15k for the car, then $15k + around $30k is about $45k or possibly more. A 2015 Hellcat goes for $40k-$45k. My point was why spend so much money on a car that you wouldnt be able to drive for quite some time, only to compete with a stock car that you could buy for close to the same amount. If im capable of a simple google search, which you proved you're not, then i believe, how does it go? "Yeah your an idiot"
Eli Waldrep exactly, id rather just buy a 2016 hellcat and modd the hell out of it
I'd be nice if they told the people the truth and not just what their sponsors want them to. holes in the brake rotors do not decrease the temperature they were put in there for out guessing cuz old brake pads used to out gas newer pads don't do it anymore so they're not necessary they just lead to faster cracking
Cho theo lam de tử
I want it 😩😩😍😍😍
catch cans should be standard equipment
Hello Castro “ Nova “ , 🤣🤣😂 . Not a racing fan I guess
Alexander Coburg and he races under Chevrolet not mopar😂
So what's the point of the catch can? If You're gonna keep the same Blowby Fumes that You're trying to get rid of totally locked inside the engine? 😳😏😳
Mounts the turbos under the car so if you hit a speed bump a little too hard you just fucked up your turbo kit
Daustingravitt
damn, just put a new control arm on that thing

that is not a crankcase vent.
That catch can hook up is soooooo wrong!!!!.. 😳
What is with that catch can lol
Also how are you gonna buy HRE's then put Continentals on them? Lmao
the installation of the catch can makes NO sense. they plugged off the port that dumps the fumes...so where does that pressure now go? shouldn't THAT be plumbed into the catch can?????
Can you guys finish this stupid challenger already lol. Also why not just go with a big single turbo?
Driveability. 2 smaller turbos have less lag than 1 big one.
Another side effect of blowby is stains in your underwear. He didn't say it so I thought I'd throw that out there.
Did that penzoil guy just say Helio Castronova 🤦🏻♂️ they should have someone who knows wft they are talking about read the script lol
Penzoil is on the bottom shelf at the gas station wtf XD
Should have gone with the dumps instead, sound better and louder from echoing off the ground and save weight from that heavy ass 3inch exhaust running under you
those wheels and tires are about half the cost of the car...
Eshu no there not
@@tonyfromaccounting56 Set of those HREs are more than 8k and the car was what, 15k? Maybe math isn't your strong suit it's ok
X pipes do nothing on a turbo application.
Even though y’all gonna destroy tht hellcat. Mopar or no car lol
Should have just traded it in on a hellcat and saved about 10k.
I'd rather have the Grand Marquis than the Challenger lol.
🤣
275 that’s a joke you can’t put that small of a tire on something that makes that much power yes hellcat comes with 275 but that’s factory and everyone goes bigger
so basically to beat a hellcat, you are spending more then buying a hellcat....
My Eyes Got Bigger Than They Ever Have When I Saw The Turbo Placement 🤢
