Your recipe is the one most like my grandma made at least once a week mainly on Saturday evenings ,lol because she'd clean the fridge out of left overs.
She'd cook up some crackling cornbread to go with it , course it was just wonderful. She was my grandma but in my eyes she was my momma,she loved me and raised me from a baby..Her cooking was just Grand.Just like yours ma'am. Thank you for the video. God bless you.💜💫🕯️🕊️⚖️🙏🌎💜

V-8 is a good base. Have made this for about 45 years. We always called it Happy soup. I make it a bit different from you but that doesn’t matter. I guess it’s like coleslaw or a macaroni salad, many different recipes from different cooks. I save the broth all week from different vegetables that I’ve cooked and if some vegetables are left in it too. Love that it freezes well. The one thing I never leave out is finely shredded cabbage. It gives bulk but even more than that, it adds a flavor that we like very much.

I make a similar version, we always have to make like 20 grilled cheese and everyone eats soup and grilled cheeses for the next few days. It really is one of the few dishes I crave because it was served in school cafeteria.

does it taste different with ground beef or ground chuck i love soup reminds me of my grandpa whenever i miss him he just lives far from me
Hello Kdreamzherself, ground beef will taste the same just a bit more fat and grease in it so if you use ground beef if you don’t want a greasy soup may I suggest to drain the fat well...hope this helps❤️

What’s your way of freezing this? I would love to make a few extra batches of this for my family to reheat on the days while I’m working long hours.
Hello Rhiannon I place a quart size freezer bag or gallon place the bag into a drinking glass pull over sides of glass and spoon leftover soup into the bag seal removing air and freeze hope this helps❤️

Sometimes I don't have broth and I use a ramen noodle pack without the noodles. That's my guilty secret don't tell nobody.

How much beef broth do you use?

Could I throw all this in a crockpot after I brown my meat?
I don’t see why not but I would use maybe half cup less of broth because crockpot will have lots of condensation....Enjoy!❤️
