clarification on the use of ‘slave’; Didn’t feel comfortable calling the child a ‘child labourer’ because it sounds like a way to glamourise it or make it sound normal, and ‘labourer’ ‘servant’ and ‘slave’ were used interchangeably in this situation so it’s what I went with. In Bangladesh (where Sixpenceee’s family live) the MINIMUM age for labour is 13-14. Sixpenceee’s family’s child was supposedly 8, and I’m assuming forced by their family to work, despite the fact that education is free until age 10. According to Bangladeshi law it’s not only immoral but INCREDIBLY illegal. My issue with Sixpenceee is not that she didn’t disown her family, or that she caused all this or hired the kid (bc she didn’t) My issue is that despite her ‘being against’ slavery and labour, she repeatedly defended her family’s right to have a child servant and justified it by claiming that they were giving her a great life. While it may be better than a sweatshop, it’s hardly a ‘great life’ for an 8 year old and in my opinion it was gross of her to minimise and make excuses for this situation. So yeah just wanted to clear that up! How you feel about the situation is up to you and I’m interested to hear everyone’s thoughts on it.
she literally said she doesnt condone what her parents were doing yet you went on to say a few seconds later' she's ok with it/being defencive makes her look sus'. ummm, no.
At 4:44 turns out this person doesn't actually have schizophrenia. Those drawing were made in random order but the internet just took the art and rearranged it so that it looks OoOoO spooky.
Nah it's not just the internet, I have an old psychology book (late 90s - early 2000s, don't remember that well) in my mom's home and it had the same pictures in the same order, so it's been longer than that.
and honestly even if it did progress like that, many artist's styles change in weird ways over time, that doesn't mean they have a 'scary' mental illness, it just means they liked surreal, abstract things and did more of that as time went on.
@@hel117 Yeah sometimes I draw living castles and bizarre cyborg abominations but I kind of just do them for certain art projects and sometimes for other people.
@@hel117 from what I've read later in life while in a mental institute he was still able to draw normal cats, so those colourful abstract pieces were just that, colourful abstract pieces and not a weird way he started seeing cats.
My grandmother was put in this situation when she was young, and she never forgave my great grandmother. People should never defend child labour; Childen shouldn't have to work.
the "look at this scary drawing by a person with schizophrenia" has me hysterical. look at this scary drawing by a psychotic individual (me): * shows you a drawing of marshal from animal crossing if he was 3d latte art in a cup *
This is sadly a common practice in my country. My grandmother was a "child-maid", she was taken away by a distant aunt who promised to send her to school. It was all lies, she had to work almost 24/7 and was never able to finish middle school. It's horrible that this kinda practices are so wide spread
@@yrbdymytmpl Paraguay. Here it's called "criadazgo". The practice is being more condemned nowadays but we still have a huge problem when it comes to child abuse cases
Both of my grandmas were preteen maids for their aunts in 1920s Finland. Very common back when there was famine and poverty. The aunts taught wife-skills and my grandmas got then better chances to marry despite being poor. Downside was separation from family and getting rough treatment, especially if you were an orphan that got auctioned (really).
my mom's from the dominican republic and it happens there too😭😭 kids do it so they can earn money, and a lot of kids are able to do it and do school too. sadly they dont get treated very well☹️☹️
I would like to point out that they say that in the Philippines and India child slavery is common. As someone who lives in the poor side of the Philippines. Fuck no it isn't. The mothers in this country is stronger than the military combined. Not one mother I know would make her child work until they are 17. The mothers and fathers are the common workers and people who make their child work her no matter the wealth status are fucking degraded and shamed. To think that this person can bundle the Philippines in to the countries that endorse child labor is beyond me. Edit: the children that work here work to support their family. They re not forced to do it but they do it to help.
It's kinda similar in Iceland except during summer kids 13+ can go to "work school" the first year you dont get too many hours but you still get pay and experience and it heightens with every year until your 16th and then you can legally get a full time job. This is all optional but you get payed for it. Most of it is garden cleaning and trash picking up, planting trees, taking care of flower beds and more. This is all through the town you live in. Other than this you are legally not allowed to work until you're 16. And the kids get the pay into their bank account, never a parents bank account. But parents can close it in a savings account until the kid is 16 but not everyone does this and the ones that do it's usually just a part of it and the money kids work for during the summer they can use for going to the movies etc without having to beg their parents for money. But yeah this whole thing is just so fucked up...
@@blairberry6257 afaik, that isnt a thing in the PH, or if it is, well Ive grown up here my entire life without ever hearing it at all in my area at least. The whole situation with SP IS f’d up and to be so generalized like this is disgusting. Especially looking at the screencap where the 8 year old would actually be grade 2 here, not 5?? And we have public schools (minimal payment). Like op said people won’t force their kids to work here or “””lend””” them. It’s NOT normal. That is straight up abuse and no matter where you live in this country, you won’t “”lend”” your children. People find that gross and understand that **forcing** your child to work for you is abusive and etc. It just feels a *little* racist to have them generalized south/east asia so nonchalantly too Oh also thanks for that input, it reminds me of apprenticeships (not sure ive ever heard anyone of a young age have one here though, just internships)
Sadly, this is not the case in India. It's a common practice here, although it's illegal. The children are often orphans and can work anywhere, from being a maid, waiter, etc, to even highly dangerous jobs like miners. It used to be so that the kids who do attend schools left before lunch (this has changed now, they provide food at schools, so now parents send their kids to school just so they can eat). Just a few kilometers from my city, there is a place where children are forced to make fireworks all day.
I'm a Filipino from the Philippines and unfortunately, Ive heard stories from the opposite of how even parents of poor kids use their kids to ..enter a certain industry they should not enter...all because they can't afford anything else but to resort to such extremes :(. I'm just glad there are good parents here.
I find it so funny when there are posts like "this is Scary Art from a Schizophrenic Person" and it looks about equivalent to the kind of stuff I drew when I was in middle school and going through a rough time. I used to joke that I could be a child from a horror movie because flip open any of my 5-8th grade notebooks and you'll find dark, scratchy sketches of people with their guts falling out and the word "worthless" written like 87 times in red ink. Vent art is totally 100% valid and it shouldnt be suddenly "scary" just because its a schizophrenic person letting out their feelings. Shut up.
"Maybe the cultural context is ok" Meanwhile Childs rights activists took like 20 years to bearly get all countries in the discussion to agree that a child is a child until they're 18. I'm not making this shit up, the history of childs rights are very recent and there's a lot of shit countries should be following but they're not.
I mean I thought "respect other cultures" was for stopping racism, not allowing child slavery. There is a big difference between being overly judgemental about someone's clothing or food or religion and thinking that just because the child slavery is happening in a country that is not yours it is a okay.
@@emma7933 and yet the same people who defend child slavery are also _really_ into feminism when it allows them to call countries with lack of women’s rights barbaric 💀 not saying that women’s rights aren’t important but where is the consistency??
For me I personally believe that mental illness can be incorporated in horror as long as it doesn’t villianize the people with said illnesses. Like have the protagonist be someone with mental illness. Then we can see their struggles and how they can overcome the conflict they have so we can root for them. That way it shows that people with mental illnesses aren’t destined to be evil, and people with the same illness as the protagonist have a character to relate to.
There was this one movie, forget the name, but the protagonist got married to a guy and was spending the winter vacation with his kids. The woman suffered from PTSD caused by religious abuse and took meds for it and these kids literally spent the entire movie stealing her meds and gaslighting her until she snapped. She didn’t hurt them, but she acted erratically and I think it ended with her forcing them to sit at the dinner table while she stared at them. It was a good movie.
We need more movies that reflect the fact that people with mental illnesses tend to be victims as opposed to perpetrators. Kind of a weird example but Terminator 2 had this.
The game hellblade: senuas sacrifice is rly good at this. The protagonist has schizophrenia (and I think anxiety/ptsd?) and I hear the way the devs handled it was amazing. I’ve only just started the game and so far so good (I don’t have schizophrenia but I do struggle w other things that still make her relatable even just based on the trailers). One of the trailers is full of positive feedback from mentally ill fans and how they feel seen/compassionately represented after playing. My fave is the neurotypical person who said their relationship w their schizophrenic father improved so much after playing/gaining a better understanding of his struggles.
i would like to point something out: Sixpence heals happened AFTER people learned about the slavery thing. Imagine going to a """therapist""" who believes owning people is okay
I would also like to add that Sixpence is not a trainer professional and is CHARGING people for their service. Some of which have been reporting they aren't even getting the help they sought after from them.
I remember that! She made a post talking about how shed be there for anyone, willing to listen to them vent, for a PRICE 😂😂😂 That post was only up for like a day before she deleted it because of all the backlash. I used to love her blog, but after awhile I noticed alot of her posts were extremely lazy. Like one of them for example was a picture of a doll someone made -with the artist's name IN THE PICTURE- that she tried to pass off as a REAL arctic fox or something. she had been doing stuff like that for a while and I ended up unfollowing her. Didnt know about the child slave thing maybe I unfollowed her before that.
4:47 I'm a giant Louis Wain fan and it angers me so much when people say his later works were because of his declining mental health. Like no Becky, Waine didn't start drawing pschodellic cats because he has schizophrenia, it just turns out that when he got decent care and didn't have to appeal to a wide audience in order to make money, he was able to be more experimental in his art
My man just really liked cats!!! And probably didn't have schizophrenia!!!! or maybe he did!!! It's kinda a debated topic !!!! Regardless It's not always that deep!!!
unfortunately, the fact that sixpenceee thought this eight year old child working in her family was normal is not uncommon. In South Asia children working for other households is very normalized and not very questioned. At least where I’m from. I’m from Canada but my parents are originally from Pakistan so I’ve visited a few times and have witnessed these “child-maids” myself. The few that worked at my house were incredibly shy/quiet, and when showed any form of kindness were slightly skeptical of it and surprised. I remember an aunt of mine had a literal 11 year babysitting her two year old daughter for majority of the day. She would change her diaper, feed her, giver her a bath, and practically raise her. I remember meeting a 12 year old girl on time and asked her why she wasn’t in school. She said she used to go but was pulled out to help out her family. I asked her if she would ever go to school again and she said no, because unfortunately her brothers would not allow it and she would probably get married by 16. I wasn’t allowed to be seen talking to her either. It’s terribly sad really. But unfortunately it’s become normalized and these children are often trapped in this life they are given, by either being forced by their parents or not having school available to them anymore. Pakistan’s age to officially be able to work is 15, yet no one really follows this:/ every child that works as a “child maid” is simply swept under the rug and no one talks about how wrong it is. Talking to that 12 year old girl really made me more thankful for my my freedom in life, and how truly fucked up it is that she was being forced to work.
Hi izzy , I'm from Bangladesh and child labour or child servant is actually a very common thing in Bangladesh. Every family probably had a child servant at some point of their life . Even though minimum age for child labour is 13-14 many poor parents force their kids to do child labour. Many rich parents hire children under 13 or less to take care of their child . Getting yelled at or getting beaten by their "bosses" is actually a pretty common thing for these kids . Me or my family has never hired any child labourer . We are very much against this . No child under 18 should do hard labour to feed their family . That's not their job . These kids are mentally traumatized. I've been in many houses and met many of these child labourer. They are so traumatized that they literally start to cry when I go up to them and speak to them like they are actual human beings and respect them or offer them food .
Horrible. Why make so many kids that you cannot feed them, and force them to work so that they can feed themselves, when they are not even teens yet? 🤦 Some parents are terrible
which is why i dont understand the thread above on her pinned comment. like, even if they pay the child's family, if the child doesn't even get an education out of it when they are EIGHT but the family are rich enough for a laborer in the first place, that seems more like abuse of power beyond any moral or legal implications
It's so absurd like... at one point I followed them bc of the nice horror art etc. content whatever they posted. I thought it was this small blog. Then I noticed how everyone in the site were talking about that blog and how horrible it is. I of course unfollowed but it was so absurd.
8 year olds should only care about playing and having fun and learning how to read well, not how to clean some rich folks' furniture for an inside toilet use.
@@KateeAngel That’s not really true at all. A kid might being able to read well at that age, but majority of children are still struggling to read well. They could read, but reading well is different.
True. Also, just because something is common in a culture, it doesn’t make it right or legal! Besides, these things happen because of larger, economic and societal problems running rampant in these third world countries, which leave people in choosing between a horrible situation and a worse one due to poverty 😣😞
It reminds me of people who use cherry picked (or flat out _wrong)_ cultural values in age of consent "debates." Like...dude. There is NO context in which child abuse is acceptable. Just because some other people don't see a problem doesn't mean you magically get a free pass 💀
@@errortryagainlater4240 also, in most cases low age of consent laws are between minors not a minor and adult. For example, for some countries 13 is the age of consent as long as the other person is no more than 4 years older, any more and it's illegal. So, even in most other countries, you're still a fukin creep if you date a child
Me, a schizophrenic: ): This is exactly what makes me feel like a bad person or I shouldn't be allowed to be around others, even though I'm very afraid of violence and I'm a pacifist
From what I’ve read, people suffering from schizophrenia, would be the opposite of a “serial killer character”, the hallucinations lead to fear, not violent tendencies right? If anything, patients should be the main characters of horror fiction since the schizophrenia can exaggerate the fear. Correct me if I’m wrong It’s a very sad condition to have, I hope you’re doing well
I feel you dude. People who have any kind of psychosis get a super bad rep in terms of supposed violent tendencies. I tend to think that it's because when a person with psychosis commits a violent crime, it sometimes tends to be especially "bizarre" or "otherwordly", because it can happen when they're under a strong delusion. HOWEVER, people who struggle with psychosis don't commit any more crimes than people who don't, and they're certainly not any more violent. But the few crimes that get commited are ALWAYS sensationalized in the media because of their "bizareness" (crime scene, motive, etc), and it creates this disproportionate idea that all people with psychosis are violent in people's heads. It's maddening!
The story about someone “shooting the OCD out of his head” is so ridiculous I had to laugh. I also have OCD, and you’re right that it’s extremely offensive, but the idea that you can shoot OCD out of your head somehow came so out of left field that I couldn’t help laughing at the absurdity of it
I just imagined my OCD comedically flying out the back of my head with a tiny “aaaaaaaaaahh” like that one meme where some people have a boardroom meeting and a guy get’s flung out the window at the end. I just- It looks so funny in my head. The OCD’s little “aaaah!” I want to animate it.
[Tw: Rape] This isn't one of her bigger controversies; in fact, people forgave her for it pretty quickly or defended her for it from the beginning, but it also definitely left many people with bad tastes in their mouths-mine included. A few years back, she posted a story in which the Main Character (MC) gets the ability to see people's greatest "sins" after MC hit their head (and died??). MC decided to try it on their younger sister-who I believe was a teenager-(because reasons???), and sees their sister's rape (spoiler, committed by their dad). There is no clear explanation for why THAT'S the sister's greatest "sin," so when people pointed out that the story made it seem like the sister getting raped was a sin on the sister's part and that, that line of thinking was backed by the Bible-because all the sins described in the story where biblical sins and that fact was backed by the MC's internal dialogue; which included sins such as spreading gossip, adultery, etc.-Sixpenceee and her fans claimed that ACTUALLY the sister's "sin" was after the rape when she "used the lord's name in vain uwu." Which made no sense for the story because, for every other person, the MC only saw the actual SIN, nothing that "lead up" to the sin, so to speak (i.e., when seeing the optometrist was cheating on his wife, the MC only saw the sex, not the events leading up to it. During the assault, the sister had been described as only screaming, not saying anything, and only had written dialogue for the end of the assault. Not only that, but the "Lord's name" she used in "Vain" was her saying something like "oh my god." (which, fun fact: Isn't what "Using the Lord's Name in Vain" means) This was also a case of Sixpenceee reposting a story from somewhere on Reddit without credit, but was probably the fastest instance of her finding the OP to "credit" them because people thought she had written it. She was quick to push the blame on the person who actually wrote it (as if she didn't repost it???) She also didn't tag it with any trigger warners, which she did for most other posts-including those containing mentions of rape-citing she "didn't want to spoil the ending of the story!" saying that tagging the rape would have revealed the "plot twist." When people reached out to her about being triggered by the story-because again prior to this, Sixpenceee was really pretty good about tagging things like Rape, so no one knew she had PURPOSEFULLY not tagged a triggering story that graphically described a teenager's rape TWICE (once for the dad, once for the sister)-she all but whined and stomped her at the implications she should have tagged the story KNOWING it was a heavy subject matter. She never apologized for it. Instead, after several hours of various people reaching out to her to try and explain WHY it was shitty to not tag a story with a rape scene, using "but plot!!!" as the excuse not to, she "had a change of heart" and decided to start tagging stories containing "plot-critical triggers" (my words, not hers) with some shit like "Trigger Warning, Not Tagging Due to Spoilers/Plot." At the time of me unfollowing her-shortly after the above event-all the stories with that tag contained rape, so it kinda spoiled itself.
How the hell would that spoil the ending even??? Tags are BELOW a tumblr post, and those who don't want to read rape content are not gonna click to see anyway just cause "the story is good". This is literally just a trigger trap, luring people with rape triggers in just to spring that shit on them at the end.
I live in Canada, and I was forced to work for my dad roofing, as young as 8. I didn't get paid, had to work 8-12 hour days. It wasn't all the time, I went to school...but weekends were generally two 8-12 hour days. I had to carry 80lb bundles of shingles up a ladder and onto the roof with no harness or anything, help lay shingles (but not nail them, that was my dad's job) and then also clean up the site. Everyone knew he was doing this to me and nobody did a damn thing. According to my dad, I had to "earn my keep".
Since I'm seeing a lot of Bengalis here I just want to put my 2 cents in. I grew up westernized, but when I was a kid and we went to visit our family back home, I had NO idea about the whole truth about bad things were with child slaves in Bangladesh. It was only later growing up that I realized how fu*ked up it actually is. Although most of my extended family's servents were around age 13-15, I have vague memories of visiting homes with very young child workers. No matter what age the child worker is, there is no doubt that you'll see a lot of verbal abuse going on. And the problem is that it's so NORMALIZED in our culture because we live in such a closed minded society. Nowadays Gen Z are realizing the faults of our previous generations. Edit: I also want to add that in some cases, taking in child worker does help poor families in the case that you will provide food, shelter, and safety for them, but it doesn't take away from the sad reality of child labor. It does help the family sometimes depending on the situation. Being homeless in Bangladesh is nothing like being homeless in the west. It's far more worse. This is just how it is in a developing country. There are no government benefits or shelters. There is very little safety and very little chance of survival. That is why some parents choose to send their children away. Privilege has a lot of meaning here.

Maybe a bit of a personal gripe more than anything, but I followed her for years as a kid and holy shit, can we talk about the constant barrage of shirt ads? She'd put shirts up on teespring or some other site and sell them for like, a single week at a time and during that time the posts about them were CONSTANT. All you had to do to get reblogged by sixpenceee was comment under one of her shirt posts saying how much you wanted it and then she'd reblog adding in a message in bold supersized letters about how there was only *THREE DAYS LEFT* to get the shirt. I remember going through my dash and within the time I was on it I'd find several different posts of her reblogging about whatever shirt she was selling that week with more and more comments from different tumblr users, some of them empty accounts, about how amazing the shirt was and how if they didn't get the shirt they were going to drop dead where they sat, or something. And you'd glance through her actual blog and it was so well scrubbed of all this even though she'd reblog her own posts several times a day. Again, maybe just a personal gripe but I found it annoying even as a 14 year old who liked sixpenceee
Oh god, as someone who's been stuck in the tumblr hell hole since 2014, just reading this title made me remember things I wish I had completely forgotten
I followed her VERY briefly, but the constant tropes of disability and mental illness as a horror trope, combined with stolen shite and misinformation got me to unfollow pretty soon after. Then when the child labour shite came out I was like WELL THAT ESCALATED. Also I've always read it as six pence eee personally 😅 Didn't know anyone read it as six pence
A Bengali person here who lives in Canada rn. Having workers around 12 is uncommon but not unheard of. Most people avoid having live-in maids that young because they are children and can't do manual labor and chores most adults could. However many families lie about their child's age so they get hired. I remember visiting one of my cousin's homes and they had a girl who looked like a teenager or younger. I asked her age, turns out she was 30... Due to malnourishment many adults are shorter and look younger than they actually are. Which makes it easier for families to exploit their children. If you truly care about child slaves being exploited then stop supporting businesses that have sweatshops in Bangladesh ie Shien, H🙴M, Gap, etc.
Yes it is all very well and good for people to go "children shouldn't be made to work" in response to this situation, but the reality is that they do have to due to the dire economic conditions created by the west in these countries.

Im super tired of the "serial killer with mental illnesses" trope Seriusly I have a lot of mental stuff and damn, so much horror media is super abelist, framing mental illness as something that is scary
Tumblr: *hears about p bots recommending or just spamming cp and instead of fixing the bot, they ban p entirely and now allows some purple libright to post a child slave*
I don’t know why but I love to imagine her posting something like “look at this disturbing art made by a schizophrenic person” and it’s just adorable My Little Pony fanart
Someone anonymously asked a fairly popular horror blog I followed what she thought of sixpenceee's blog (before the child slave stuff came out), and the blog tried to very politely say they were sure she was a fine person but didn't like how sensationalized some of her material was. Sixpencee reblogged the ask with some "oh, this hurts my feelings, I really like your content and am hurt:""( " sort of thing and ended up "accidentally" siccing all her stans on this blog and the op had to leave for like 2 months.
Being on tumblr is a fucking trip ok. I've been on circa 2012 and i've seen the rise and fall of sixpenceee, the guy who stole literal bones from cemetaries, the mishapocalypse.
That "this is a drawing by someone with schizophrenia" makes me want to post all my art with the caption "this is a drawing by someone with bipolar disorder."
i found your channel a couple days ago and you’re all i’ve been watching 😭 i love the consideration and care you put into words and what made me type this comment was how you donated to the charity at the end. as an unsupervised young internet user since 2009 and previous tumblr addict i’m so obsessed with this channel
4:27 I’ve seen this one lots of times before but then it was always “my daughter who loved the little mermaid was very excited about getting a sister. We named our new daughter Ariel” and yeah basically the older daughter did the same thing that the “mother with schizophrenia” did. Don’t know which one came first but I feel like neither is true.
4:37 I- That story- That's not even CLOSE to what schizofrenia is. Like the EFFORT is so LOW. "I heard there's this mental thing called Schizofrenia" "O, what is that? What does it do?" "I don't know, but people with it kill others and are crazy :D"
oh my god this is killing me. So the "Hall of Fame" at like 0:44 is: Glumshoe, CommunismKills, sixpenceee, FishingBoatProceeds (John Green), Pukicho, the fucken... "I'm literally a goldfish" blog where he was bullied off, Dashcon, the ranger/bear scam cartoon idea, and SlimeTony but who the FUCK is the Woody icon?????
A bit of a tangent but it’s really sad and disappointing how mental health is still represented in media consumption. Just because someone has schizophrenia or bipolar doesn’t mean they’re violent or have aggressive tendencies. I have family members that struggle with mental health issues (as do I) and none of them have had violent outbursts ever (nor I). At most, they’ve had moments that are absolutely confusing and out of nowhere but that’s it. It’s not nearly as common as media makes it out to be that someone that’s mentally ill is automatically violent and volatile.
When I was on Tumblr in 2016-2018 I remember this page and how popular it was. Thank you for bringing awareness to the harm her page has caused and why it is damaging.
You just need to follow the right blogs but it was bad not better back in the day there was cp and so much disgusting stuff that’s why they got rid of porn
This is a lesser of two evils scenario. The kid is practically a maid who is working to support her family with her spare income. If anyone of you were educated enough about child labor around the world. Those work conditions are like labor camps. No health care, most don’t offer food and the ones that provide live-in beds are the worse of them all. Privilege creates ignorance
this kind of fosterage or domestic service is only a few generations away from being common-to-universal in anglo communities (and if we look for informal versions of it it probably happens all the time - the lack of it being formally paid is probably the biggest difference)
Nah, its honestly become more chill. Most of the crazies decided to leave the platform and joined Twitter/Instagram instead. Twitter was already chaotic to begin with but now its gaining aspects of Tumblr as well lol
The TCC Community in Tumblr got obliterated though. I know that a lot of jack was happening in there with the fangirls and all, but man is it like a back way alley there.
It's absolutely fucking awful how having some metal illness or issue will cause people to assume you're a ticking time bomb of violence and that it's perfectly reasonable to be afraid of you. But at the same time, the fact that someone could come across the edgy weeb fanart that I made in the behavioral health facility and go "oooooh! so scary! A crazy person drew this!!" and like, write a whole creepypasta about it, is way funnier to me than it probably should be. Cower in fear of the crappy sketch of the anime girl with bandages ooooooooo!
I’ve been in Tumblr since 2011 and I NEVER heard of Sizpenceee all this time and I just found out of all her drama because of a friend. I felt so ashamed to not know sooner
I read one of her stories once and it was about a woman who had an ED and smelled really bad and it turned out she had eaten her daughter alive...😬 really awful and inappropriate.

No complaints here, I love your content and hope to enjoy tons more. Thanks for the upload!
clarification on the use of ‘slave’;
Didn’t feel comfortable calling the child a ‘child labourer’ because it sounds like a way to glamourise it or make it sound normal, and ‘labourer’ ‘servant’ and ‘slave’ were used interchangeably in this situation so it’s what I went with.
How you feel about the situation is up to you and I’m interested to hear everyone’s thoughts on it.

in my country, education is free in government schools, you just need a passport
Don’t Wanna be rude but I swear every time I watch more and more of your videos you seem to turn more and more into some weird demon

As someone who lives in the Philippines as well, i second this. Oh my god, honestly didn’t know they even said that
It's kinda similar in Iceland except during summer kids 13+ can go to "work school" the first year you dont get too many hours but you still get pay and experience and it heightens with every year until your 16th and then you can legally get a full time job.
It just feels a *little* racist to have them generalized south/east asia so nonchalantly too
Oh also thanks for that input, it reminds me of apprenticeships (not sure ive ever heard anyone of a young age have one here though, just internships)
I'm a Filipino from the Philippines and unfortunately, Ive heard stories from the opposite of how even parents of poor kids use their kids to
..enter a certain industry they should not enter...all because they can't afford anything else but to resort to such extremes :(. I'm just glad there are good parents here.

Reminds me of a lot of stuff from junji ito
My fave is the neurotypical person who said their relationship w their schizophrenic father improved so much after playing/gaining a better understanding of his struggles.

unfortunately, the fact that sixpenceee thought this eight year old child working in her family was normal is not uncommon.

Not only that, but the "Lord's name" she used in "Vain" was her saying something like "oh my god." (which, fun fact: Isn't what "Using the Lord's Name in Vain" means)
This was also a case of Sixpenceee reposting a story from somewhere on Reddit without credit, but was probably the fastest instance of her finding the OP to "credit" them because people thought she had written it. She was quick to push the blame on the person who actually wrote it (as if she didn't repost it???)
She also didn't tag it with any trigger warners, which she did for most other posts-including those containing mentions of rape-citing she "didn't want to spoil the ending of the story!" saying that tagging the rape would have revealed the "plot twist." When people reached out to her about being triggered by the story-because again prior to this, Sixpenceee was really pretty good about tagging things like Rape, so no one knew she had PURPOSEFULLY not tagged a triggering story that graphically described a teenager's rape TWICE (once for the dad, once for the sister)-she all but whined and stomped her at the implications she should have tagged the story KNOWING it was a heavy subject matter.
Oh damn! I never heard of this but that’s incredibly fucked up
yikes
...jesus fucking christ
Well uh..that's fucked up
How the hell would that spoil the ending even??? Tags are BELOW a tumblr post, and those who don't want to read rape content are not gonna click to see anyway just cause "the story is good". This is literally just a trigger trap, luring people with rape triggers in just to spring that shit on them at the end.
Didn’t sixpenceee make that post about mountain goats that started the “they crave that mineral” meme

That's messed up dude. Sorry
Thaaaaaaaaaank you

@@maitequilla yeah, I don't get it either. I think it isn't really about the paintings themselves and more because of the narrative that they started to become freakier as his condition got worse (which probably isn't true)
I love his artworks, the "normal" ones as well as the more experimental ones. You really can tell that the guy loved cats :)
I think one of those cats was used by the band Oingo Boingo for their 10" EPs, which I think makes them look incredibly cool.
His 'creepy' cat drawings are so ahead of their time.
He was a visionary with cats as a muse. I hope more people see him that way... rather than crazy

I was on Tumblr when they started the $30 "therapy" scam. I spent so much time and energy screaming into the Tumblr void about how wrong it was.
I remember this going on, I always wandered what kind agency someone would have in the situation described if you cared to actually do something about it. She clearly normalized so much it in her head that it was impossible to rationalize with her that it was fucked up, even in a cultural setting, to have a child that young working for you. But was it anyone else, what could you actually do if you were visiting and saw a child labourer at your uncle’s home.
