In my opinion, learning the mystery of what the Northern Lights is even more magical to me! How amazing is it that one of the most beautiful things in our Stratosphere is really the natural wonders of the universe fighting against each other and working together at the same time. That is absolutely amazing. I love the things that I learn from this channel.
Actually, in order to cause the northern lights, you need to be a school principal. Then, you have to invite your superintendent for an “unforgettable luncheon”. Next, you have to let your roast cook until it starts smoking. You mustn’t let the superintendent know about it or it will not work. Next, you have to sneak to a fast food restaurant and disguise it as your own cooking. Then once the superintendent finishes the meal, it will cause a chain of chemical reactions that will create a localized Aurora Borealis entirely in your kitchen.
They need to revive Ancient Aliens for another season. It was fun realizing how much you could speculate over the smallest details in recorded history.
I sow it in Norway,I was working on a cruise ship 2 years ago.I will say only this....I WAS SHOKING AND I WAS CRYING from excitement when I sow it.💚🤍 I will never forget😔
I live in one of swedens most northern parts, and this happens on a regular basis. So while most people find this breath taking, this is nothing special for me..
What causes the northern lights or aurora borealis? Simple, you invite a superintendent to your house for an unforgettable luncheon. Then you purchase fast food and disguise it as your own cooking because your roast is ruined. Then you call the hamburgers you bought "steamed hams". And then the aurora borealis is localized entirely within your kitchen.
Singapore? As a photographer living in Singapore for 25 years now, I don't think I've seen any, not even faint ones. We have problems seeing even an abundance of stars at night. It'll be good to get some citations. I'm intrigued.
In Finland the Sami people used to believe that the northern lights were caused by a fox waging its tail on snow and that's why in Finnish the northern lights are called the fire of a fox
I live in southern Norway, and we can sometimes see sort of a weak green-ich color in the night sky. We RARELY get to see the strong auroras as on Svalbard, tho...
Thoughty2 i love your vids so much. I always watch your vids as soon as they are done, too bad i have to wait for so long, but that is of course because you want to give us perfect vids :)
It is caused by light reflections from hollow earth lakes and rivers. Internal of hollow earth is mostly green trees and water, hence aurora has green color mostly. The matter has no relation to magnetic fields phylosphy
first time i ever get "this should be common knowledge" though when i watch your videos, but the I remembered that I live in Finland and some people do not.
it's funny that you posted this video becuase I just finished reviewing line spectra of atoms and such for my Ap chem class. so this was very easy to follow. enjoy your videos very interesting. chemistry related one would be nice
If weak spots in the Earth's magnetic field are where the Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis occur, doesn't that mean that those are the most dangerous places on earth because people are more exposed to the direct impact of the solar winds?
+thoughty2 Hello! Can you please do a RIF on why all British singers don't sound British when they sing. Or if you did already please provide a link! Thanks! Look forward to your vids every week. Cheers!
The way he explained the exciting of atoms is incorrect. What he used is called the Bohr Model and has disproven as the scientist who came up with it did not realize it only works with hydrogen. It does not work with other elements. I thought he was right until I went to Chemistry Class today.
I wanna see them in real life one day..I can only imagine the beauty

bucket list
You can see northern lights in Lapland.
+TheMosT norway to, its common here tough
clearly explained...well done

Less talky, more aurora-y.
Same. Hate biology (I’m a med student) and love space and nature
EA You can be a Biology student and still be fascinated by other areas of Science. I am. 👍🏻

You have taught me something in this video that I never knew. I am 68 and it's a true saying, you are never to old to learn. Thank you.

I think it would be cool if Thoughty did a video on how galaxies get their shape and color. I love his sciencey space videos.
I get to see the northern lights when I go to Iceland this spring break and I'm so excited
Seymour’s kitchen cause these orange auras, We yet to confirm what the pattern is...
"Uranus has an Aurora too!"
-Thoughty2, 2015
I believe it was caused by a ruined roast.
May I see it?
@@crazyforcoffee5950 ....... *No*
it is quite hard to take a selfie with northern light as ur background, or the moon, the sun, the star and even the spectacular firework.
Fast food disguised as one’s own cooking.

Seriously u explained it so amazingly and simply
The plasma streams coming in through the poles are called Birkeland currents.

Can you do one on half-life's, decay, alpha particles, beta particles, gamma rays, why certain elements do this, etc.
Try, electromagnetics, and pitch the sun theory.

Hello, I will go to Antarctica. I must see this beauty.
You didn't mention that the CME accelerates as it moves away from the sun.
Bravo! Bravissimo!
Fantastico!
I am going to nominate you for a Pulitzer Prize for your simple to understand explanation. Definitely a thumbs Up!
You ought to do a video on why the sky is blue.
That’s one hell of a banana-in-your-mouth accent you’re sporting there buddy.
Happening this spring alot in South Dakota
i made plasma in my garage... and had to buy a new microwave.
0:42 Uranus has auroras too 😂
Very Good Informative Info Video cheers troy
Strange and so beautiful
Thank you Sir
Why aren't there more blue and orange lights than green ones since the atmosphere is 70% nitrogen and only 20% oxygen.
Why do I keep thinking of Sheldon Cooper when I watch this? 😂
Omg same when I was looking at his hair and clothes!
The way he explained the exciting of atoms is incorrect. What he used is called the Bohr Model and has disproven as the scientist who came up with it did not realize it only works with hydrogen. It does not work with other elements. I thought he was right until I went to Chemistry Class today.

Did he just said that is can also be seen from 'Singapore' ???!?!?!? WHERE!!
Yoo! Am an inuit. and i see northern lights pretty often :D
"The aurora uses the FORCE." "Yes the FORCE!" me:😵
