When I started golfing in the mid 70s, my best friend was sometimes allowed to use his father's set of Ping irons & woods. I remember seeing his driver and thinking it was big, black and so very, very cool. We all treated it like it was made of unobtanium. I was so jealous as I rocked the K-mart Top Flite ladies set I borrowed from a neighbor...

I inherited a complete set of Karsten lll, woods 1-7 plus all irons excepting #3 . Dad bought the clubs new and used them religiously until his last year on planet earth. Related to me that they are the best most forgiving clubs he ever owned. I have re taken up the game in my senior years and can say, they are clubs that never seem to age and just keep on scoring big shots. Thanks for your video

I still have a blonde Ping driver with a factory graphite shaft, it is a later if not the last wooden driver they made. Zing, haven't looked at it in a while. Also had the metal Zing 2 driver, which was ok....after several reshafts! Freind at work carried one just like yours in his work truck, always had some old golf balls to hit on the jobsite.
I remember those grips, wow that is back aways!

Big fan of wooden pings. My first adult set were Eye 2 (1/3/5). I had a set of the K1s restored and used them for a bit, but preferred Eye 2 and Zing. The awesome ISI Tours (especially the Driver) were in the bag for several years... Out of the centre, it was as long as my TISI.

I have had these and the Eye 2 woods in the past. I remember loving the look of them but could not hit them straight very often. I bought a brand new Ping ISI 3 wood that looked the exact same as the Karsten III but had the center of the sole cut out and that is where it said ISI. Loved that club and got lots of compliments on the retro look from a wood made in the early 90"s.

Love the dramatic presentation. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire video.

That was a damn good driver. Ping said they used laminate instead of persimmon because they could be more precise with it, ever the engineers.

I still bring out the Eye 2 woods here and there. Just feel great to hit

I still have the zing 2 three and five woods in my bag. 240 and 220 off the fairway every time.

TGIF!!! I have the Ping Eye2 in 1,3,4,5 +7 woods for my Ping Bag with my Eye 2 irons and Ping Zing 2 putter. Not my favorite 3 wood ever. Love the 7 wood! These things are almost indestructible too.

Collector’s item. They worked well for older tech. I like the blond version.

They also worked well for most older golf courses.

Are these larger headed than the eye 2 woods?

I am holding both now. The Karsten III are deeper. The Eye 2 driver has a more closed face at address. They look very similar.
