"In a profession where you need to talk, Scully was a great listener." Man what a great quote. And one of the best ways to describe his greatness. Great tribute.

Outstanding tribute! Grew up in L.A., lifelong Dodgers fan. I always considered Scully to be the best. In all the years and decades, I can't recall Vin ever saying a sideways thing about someone. The man was always professional, upbeat and positive. He was a bastion of the Dodger community. RIP

He was our Grand Father,Our Father, our Uncle our Friend. I never met him but as a Dodgers fan he was part of the Dodgers. When he retired I cried like a baby. And when I found out he had passed I was devastated. He will definitely be missed by everyone whom knew him. There will never be another. He’s stories we’re amazing and he never had anything negative to say about anyone on and or off the mic. Vin God is blessed to have you up in heaven calling out the games. We will miss you dearly and will always have you in our thoughts,Prayers and most important, our memories. RIP Uncle Vin.

I will never forget the feeling I got every year in early spring when hearing scully’s voice for the first time from Vero after a long winter with no baseball. The bright green grass with oranges as the visual and the sound of Scully for the first time in the year. It was the most refreshing sound you could imagine. It was like putting your head into the freezer after running in 110 degree heat. It didn’t matter how bad the team was you wanted to to go buy season tickets anyways. It hasn’t been the same without him. Joe Davis is an amazing announcer, one of the best in the game. But nothing could ever begin to compare to the voice of Scully. The voice of my childhood. RIP RIP RIP 😪

Thank you, Colin, for your tribute to Vin. I'm an old man now, 64. I was born and raised in So Cal, still live there. Vinny was almost like a second dad. I remember going to bed early, as most young kids are told to do, with a secret transistor radio next to me so I could listen to Vin call the games. We listened as much for Vin as we did for the Dodgers. Night in and night out. Season in and season out. Vin really was such a big part of an Angelino's life. I know "All Things Must Pass", out with the old and in with the new, and all that. But baseball, for me, isn't quite the same without Vin. Miss him tremendously.

I have never once cried over someone I have never personally known that died. Until Vin Scully. I didn't realize until he died exactly how much he meant to my life growing up in Las Vegas and southern California. He taught me baseball and he put me down for some of the best naps of my life. He was like a great uncle I never knew I needed. He always showed me how to be a good person and that good people are always out there. He was a hall of fame human being. I will remember him for the rest of my life.

Colin, Great take on our one and only Vin Scully! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. I’m 72 born and raised in LA and Vin Scully has been my best medicine since I’ve been alive. His opening greeting made my high blood pressure drop by 10 points. Everything just seemed right in the world when Vinnie said hello.
This years Dodgers are amazing to watch, but now they have another intangible reason to win the World Series this year.

It’s such an egregious omission you’d almost think the show was pre-recorded the afternoon before, say after the baseball trade deadline. Interesting as well not a peep on Skip or Shannon twitter account about Vin. Some tin’ not adding up??

@@iamyeyo I agree he’s a sports legend not just dodgers baseball. But instead they talked about KD, Yankees, Cowboys, Bron and Brady like always again. It’s a joke. With the death of Vin so dies proper sports media, now all we have left is shallow click bait media.

Joy being a great athlete doesn’t mean she had tons more options, at least not in the sense of making great money from playing sports. She makes WAY more doing this than she would even as a star WNBA player. Sadly even the best female professional players make almost nothing compared to male counterparts. There are some exceptions such as the Williams sisters in tennis etc but She made the right choice going this route. The highest paid WNBA player just signed a two year deal making 230k a year…to put that into perspective, Magic Johnson made around 460k in his rookie year way back in 1979. Hopefully the WNBA keeps pumping out that content, so more young girls watch, they get more ad money, and the women can make some actual sports cash 👍🏻
