The best performance for jimi was at Woodstock in 67' when he was the first to play the star spangled banner. After that, other people started doing it. He played at Woodstock high on LSD.
Woodstock was in 1969, not 67, and he was not high on LSD, he and band mates were smoking cannabis and drinking wine, as they did not know when they would go onstage, as to why he was quite tired, but still turned out a stellar performance
Machine Gun Live at Berkeley is incredible, Band of Gypsy's, Woodstock, and most of all his first major concert in the U.S., the Monterey pop festival 1967, he lit his guitar on fire at the end of the set, partly to upstage The Who before their following set; Jimi wanted to make an impact.
Stick with it my man, I heard purple haze once and I picked up a guitar and never looked back. Playing guitar lets you express yourself in ways words never could
I forget all the details, but I remember hearing a story that Jimi Hendrix had a private performance in London in 1967, right before his first album dropped, for a bunch of famous rock musicians. One of them, the great guitarist (but not human) Eric Clapton left early and someone found him so upset he was shaking. Clapton supposedly said something like, "Is he really that good? What the hell do I do now?"
I wish people would 'listen' to the music instead of watching videos. Usually so many of these videos have nothing to do with the band themselves. You don't need lyrics or screens, just your ears.
The music of the 60s and 70s just hit different. May I suggest a potential reaction video? "INSIDE LOOKING OUT" By the band Grand Funk Railroad. It's a Blazzer.....Blazzzingggg
Try Joe Satriani's album Surfing with the Alien. Satriani quit his high school football team, when he heard, on the day Jimi passed, and became a guitar player. Jimi was a huge influence on him.
Yo, you WILL BE a guitarist! All it takes is what you are doing now, try 1 or 2 chords just to get comfortable with it in your hands and holding it, then you can use RUclips to advance little by little, and the best thing, once you can play like the 5 most common chords (G, E, A, C and D) - or even just Em and A (hundreds of blues songs only use those 2 chords, both E minor (the 2 fingers on 2nd fret of 4th and 5th string) and E major (just add a finger to 1st fret on 4th string) and A (2nd fret across the 3 strings, 2, 3, and 4) - you are in business. As you practice that, play around with single note little melodies for fun, and all the sudden, you will be feeling it WAY more. Then the best thing is to pick a couple songs you like, with those 5 basic chords only, and learn them, and that's when the true excitement kicks in. Stevie and Jimi are the 2 best ever IMO, David Gilmour from Pink Floyd and Stevie were my idols/inspiration...not always easy as their skills seem so unreachable, but its ok, within what they do lies the basics, the blues. I have faith in you - at your age, you have all the time in the world, and being able to play, its like surfers surfing, or getting with a girl you want, its in the highest of highs (oh yeah, and it WILL get you plenty of girls you want - hey baby, can I play you this song - it is up there with the ultimate deal closers on earth!).
I think apart from a few overdubs, he performed this live in the studio. Through headphones, you can hear that anp buzzing away. That distortion and noises he produces are absolutely incredible. It took other guitarists 8 to 10 years to catch up with him. Jimi was probably equalled, but never bettered.
Good choices! My two favorite guitarists are also Jimi and SRV. This song is called Voodoo Child, Slight Return. There is an extended version (over 14 min.) also on Electric Ladyland called "Voodoo Chile." It's truly amazing and I hope you check it out.
That's so cool you're gonna learn guitar...Nothing Else Matters by Metallica was actually the first song I learned on geetar .followed by Stairway to Heaven and then Wish you were Here🥰🥰🔥🔥🤘🤘🎸
Bro, keep practicing! I totally believe you’ll be jamming on the guitar in no time (if you just stay consistent). Been playing for 22 years now and I can’t imagine NOT having that outlet in my life. Jimi is an awesome inspiration to have. Your fingers will hurt at first, it’ll be frustrating as hell, but it’s totally doable. Just having a passion for music and a willingness to dedicate some time is all it really takes.
His live performance of Machine Gun from the Band of Gypsys record is the best guitar work I’ve ever heard, especially relative to when it came out. There was no template for what he did with a guitar.
I agree. And the combination of Hendrix's guitar and Buddy Miles' drums on that song are difficult to beat. A really powerful anti-war message. Miles Davis, who was in the audience that night, loved it too. Must've been incredible to be there; the studio version doesn't quite cut it in my opinion.
Mr JUSTICE If you’re seriously interested in guitar players… here’s 3 “modern” black men who have incredible talent and all play guitar: Gary Clark JR- Bright Lights, Black Pumas- Colors, Michael Kiwanuka- Love and Hate. (All live versions) Not suggested for your channel but definitely worth a few min of your time. 💚☮️
There would be no Stevie Ray Vaughn without the likes of Jimi Hendrix, or Robin Trower. You should do a reaction to " To a rolling stone " and " Bridge of Sighs " by Robin Trower...sounds a lot like Hendrix but he came out around the same era. He has his own style. Sounds great!
You need to hear Machine Gun from the Hendrix Band of Gypsies album. I've been playing guitar for 50 years. If you want free lessons, let me know by commenting,
Great reaction, bro. You definitely seem genuine in your reaction. You're asking for Jimi's best performance? There's a lot of them. A lot! But one of the top tiers that you can find on RUclips that's a video visual is Machine Gun at Fillmore East. ruclips.net/video/157LHNkMJWw/видео.htmlsi=-ZN8d5mJnycLXWOY That is one of his pinnacles of creativity that can go down in history; solidifying him as the best electric guitarist that ever was. Jimi's music is a mystical and metaphysical experience. You'll get more what I'm saying when you react to his live performances for the most part.
Jimi was far better than Stevie Ray. Stevie Ray was a 1-4-5 shuffle lead player. He had to COVER Hendrix songs to mix it up since he played them well. Covering songs is like painting by numbers. everything is laid out for you. Half of Stevie's leads were Hendrix licks. Stevie really didn't write much like Hendrix did and jimi was a smoother player. I think Stevie was the best at what he did with the blues, but to compare him to Hendrix is an inaccuracy. Jimi showed how he cam write and play blues with red House and a few other blues tunes like Let the good time roll. He chose to spread his wings out a little wings wider than Stevie.
You can totally do it, man....get yerself a lefty guitar, learn the chords and the pentatonic scales and you'll be on your way......good guitar playing is all about stealing shit from other players....you'll get plenty of help on youtube......Dude, by this time next year, you could be playin' in a band.
Jimi discovered sounds that no one else had ever found on an electric guitar
Yes. And what did SRV discover? Hendrix
"House Burning down" is my personal favorite because it's Jimi at the absolute top of his game in the studio. 🎸
That one is one of my favorites too. It sounds like fire and is fire
Check out Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock in 1969, his performance was 🔥🔥
Hendrix. One of the best G players all-time. And certainly, the most inspirational. And learned to play in church, which itself is so f'ing awesome.
Yes! That's how it starts young sir. 1. Pick up the guitar. 2. Play and keep playing. ☮️💜🤘🔥
my favorite song from Jimi
is "the wind cried Mary."
Cries
@@hesch-tag you're right- my bad
Hendrix all the way
Baddest electric cat of them all..
Check out BOLD AS LOVE. That is another great Hendrix song.

You need to listen to the 15min epic on electric ladyland to glimpse the true voodoo Chile

Check out the Jimi Hendrix Experience's studio track of Manic Depression!
My fave song by Jimi
My man repping his Toyota Dealership Uniform for the vid, I feel ya there homie.

This song is the gold standard of how to play a guitar
STICK WITH THE GUITAR
SOMETIMES U MIGHT WANNA GIVE UP BUT IF
U STICK WITH IT U WILL BE REWARDED THAT'S A
ACTUAL QUOTE OF JIMI HENDRIX indeed.
dude you're just the cutest thing ever!!😊😊
The best ever 😂❤

Also check out Kim Simmonds, of Savoy Brown....check out "Life's One Act Play." The solo will blow your mind.

Foxy Lady was my favourite song of Jimmy’s.
Best track by the best guitarist ever and this dude plucks some flat chords on an acoustic. Some chutspah!_
Voodoo child live is best.
NWO 4 LIFE
His cover of Johnny B Goode is the SHIT!
You should react to the full Led Zeppelin II album.
Acid headphones Jimi
Machine gun live for sure
You need to hear Machine Gun from the Hendrix Band of Gypsies album.

listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan's version
also.... Jimi could not even read music so.... keep trying -you'll get there!
Now you can try the Stevie Ray Vaughan version since you know who he is now.
Pro tip... if toyota isn't paying you to promote their brand, don't wear your work shirts in your videos.
I'm sorry Woodstock was in 69'
Please god tell me you know who he is.
What is this? A Mono version? Not quite as effective as the stereo mix. Great song anyway!
