Thank you to everyone who already sent me an email! I will be busy in the next week, because I travel, but I will definitely reply when I get back home.
THOMAS THE MAAAAAAAAAN !! Love the motorcycle community LOVE IT !!
Bravo, Thomas!!! Congratulations for helping Pavlin! The world need more people like you.
Couldn't agree more!
Tips for Northern Brazil:
- Try to do the trans-Amazonian highway BR 230 and BR 319 from August to September. It's the dry period. During the rainy season, there's a lot of mud and will delay your trip. The road between Manaus/AM and Humaitá/AM is difficult to pass during the rainy season.
- Take a spare gallon of gasoline, especially on BR 319. There are no gas stations and the gasoline sold illegally is of dubious quality.
Tip for leaving Brazil:
- Cross the border in Foz do Iguaçu/PR. It is 220km away from Guaíra/PR. There are the famous Iguaçu Falls in Foz. They are worth visiting. Cons: customs can take longer in Foz do Iguaçu.
Trip sounds awesome Pavlin! Safe travels. Waiting for the episodes ✌🇫🇮
Cannot wait!
Hello Pavlin, I'm really glad you've decided that your next trip will be through South America. My name is David, I'm from Colombia, and if you need any information about the country-like routes to travel, recommended places that aren't touristy, or anything else-just let me know, I'm here to help. I also have several contacts with good people and motorcycle clubs in different cities. I hope you have a great trip!
In Colombia, it's very easy for foreigners to buy and sell motorcycles.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend a full Gore-Tex setup here (Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil). The heat here is different from Europe-it's humid. I've had full Gore-Tex gear and don't recommend it (just my personal opinion). As a suggestion, it's better to dress in layers with a ventilated jacket (something with mesh), and it's easier to put on a waterproof jacket if it rains. We have all climates here, and Gore-Tex can be very hot.
@Chalybs_Wolf 100%, it's nice for rain days but I find myself not wearing it on hot days!
Drop me an email with your details , please
@Chalybs_Wolf I live in the sun (Miami) and I agree with not wearing gortex. It's better to be soaked than to be exhausted of heat stroke.
WOW! What an adventure, I hope all the planning works out, BIG THANKS, to Thomas, and other sponsors, 5 months will soon pass! Cheers, DINO.
I hope the same
Looking forward to it! I have 70000 kilometres on my 250 Rally with zero problems. Just regular maintenance like chain and sprockets, valves (shims) at 50000, fork seals, swingarm and linkage bearings like you did on your previous bike. Everything was done as preventive maintenance, not because of failure. I had coolant leaks which was fixed by tightening the jubilee clips, that's all. All the best😊
Top man, Thomas!
Very much looking forward to watching this trip. Good to see everything coming together.
Lina and I returned from our trip yesterday. Fabulous Balkans. We enjoyed very much.
Ride safe 👍
Great to hear that you had wonderful time around Balkans
I have been waiting for this part of the world for a long time. Can't wait to see you show us all the amazing places. Specially brazil. 😬
Research Ruta 40 in Argentina (especially north part to Bariloche is nice) -- and from there southwards you MUST ride Ruta 7 in Chile (also known as Carretera Austral). This road is from Puerto Montt to O'Higgins. From there you can take a ferry to Puerto Natales (book in advance in tourist season), continue to ride to Puntas Arenas. Then cross to Porvenir and then onwards to Ushuaia. Two benefits: you skip some of the boring parts on Ruta 40 (when you travel south on Ruta 7) and when you ride the north part of Ruta 40 you're spending more time in Argentina instead of Chile (Argentina is much cheaper). You're also driving the more adventurous roads in southern province of Argentina (which is otherwise a bit boring until you reach Ushuaia -- on the way back you can take this boring road. Try not to ride it twice!). Enjoy your trip and be safe!
Fantastic, Pavlin, happy to hear so many adventurers helping you. Can’t wait to follow along and as always, safe travels!
I’m really happy to see someone giving his bike to you and the way you are thanking him it’s absolutely amazing, this may look some thing unique to you but in our culture in Middle East, like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, emirates, this is a very small thing, we treat our guests like a king, I wish you can come here and feel the hospitality of Arab people. If you ever come to Bahrain will be my pleasure to serve you. God bless you!
Thanks, man!
Don’t forget Patagônia, and the of course the brasilian shore, beautiful landscape and hospitality.
I've been following your channel for many years now, and you visiting southamerica and espetially my country Argentina, will be much more enjoyable for me to watch, good luck Pavlin!
Great!
You will use the next 5 months to be properly prepared. And be ready for your adventure. Looking forward to your videos from South America. Will brighten up our dark winter months! All the best, Günter/Nürnberg
Thanks!
I saw you plane map and didn't see "Serra do Rio do Rastro", near Urubici city. It's a amazing place that Brazilians bikers love to go. I recommend search about this place.
The route will be changed many times
Thank you Tomas and.....GOOD LUCK all the wayyyyyy 😊
Wow Welcome to South America. A big hug from Brazil, this Honda XRE 300 is pretty popular here, it will be easy if you need a mechanic
One good tip: December in Brazil is hot as hell, try stay hydrated.
Let me know when you plan to pass by State of Rio de Janeiro
Thanks!
How exciting Pavlin. That trip should be amazing. Thomas is a good guy for helping you out. We all know you would offer the same support to fellow bikers so it's your turn this time. I look forward to the videos.
Jim. Uk. 👍🏻
I look forward!
Sounds like a huge adventure. About the jacket you are planning to use, it has an exposed zipper, that could be a problem. I myself and some of my driving buddies have been using such garments earlier and all of us have had problems with them. At some point the zipper will collect dirt and dust and stop working as it should. That will cause leaking or at worst the zipper just breaks totally. I look forward to seeing your stories from the trip, good luck with your preparations.
I have this in mind
The bottom, Ushuaia, has a limited weather window
Generally, mid Dec - 1st of Mar
Only 3 months means you will be riding hard
I am aware of that
Thank you Tomas and GOOD LUCK all THE WAYyyyyy 😊
Thanks, man!
I worked in Brasil 25 years ago. I had a Yamahe XT 600 and did a few journeys. Yamaha an6 as they have factories there. Other manufacturers are very expensive due to import taxes.
Brazilian people are very friendly but high crime rates. Good idea to travel with someone. The benzene in Brasil was high in ethanol and probably higher now. So be prepared for lower performance. I'm in Varna soon. Maybe meet up for a beer
Sure, just contact me
Vem pro Brasil! Bem vindo!
Amazing Pavlin, best wishes.
Good plan!
You should include "Serra do Rio do Rastro" and "Foz do Iguaçu"!
Both in south Brazil.
Safe travels Pavlin, I hope you will enjoy your trip and if your friend is not shy maybe we will get to know him as well. We (me and my friends) finished a 9 days trip in Bulgaria on the TET. We finished near Veliko Tarnovo and we loved it. We will return next year to explore more, even in the south of the country. Video soon as well on my channel. CHeers ! P.S. Bulgarian people in the north west of the country near Vidin , they all speak an impecable romanian, we were shocked, in a good way of course !
Hi Pavlin. Nice plans. I believe you will manage this. I also consider going to travel in South America but next year. So looking forward to see your trip on the display of my PC. Good luck!!!
P.s. it is a big pleasure see my sticker on the red door in your garage.
Thanks, Kosta! The sticker is where it belongs!
Enjoy your coming Trip. Palvin.
Sounds epic!!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Will miss u sir 😢 lot of great tips , Have a Safe Journey 🙏
Thanks!
Well done Pavlin, what an awesome trip coming up! Can't wait for the preparation videos and the series episodes! .👍👍
Happy and safe adventures.👏🏼
5 months Pavlin, it will pass quickly, then a warm winter. Thomas and friends are a godsend to the channel, can’t wait for the big off
True
The start of another fantastic adventure. I look forward to seeing all of the fantastic places you will get to. Very best of luck to you 👍👍👍
Be careful that in focusing on Brazil you don't miss the weather window in the south - Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. If you get there too late it will begin to get really cold and wet.
I have this in mind
Thanks for sharing your future plans. I got excited and it went through my veins :) I think the culture there will fit you well. All the best and looking forward to your updates and the journey.
Hi Pavlin, Sounds like quite an adventure! I'm glad you will be traveling with your long-time friend who happens to be a mechanic. As always, safe travel.
Hi Pavlin. If you came to Argentina, you have to travel by Ruta 40.
Ok
Te esperamos no Brasil!!!😊
Best of luck from the USA! I also plan to ride South America, but it will not happen until 28. I am excited for you!
Nice work Pavlin, looking forward to following this trip, one of my planned trips when I can get the free time!
Dear Pavlin!!!
If you choose to come to Brazil, you have a place to stay here in the south of the country. You will be welcome!!!! Your videos inspired me to take my motorcycle trips. Last month, I went to San Carlos de Bariloche, in Argentina!!! And several of your tips were essential for the trip to go really well!!! Come!!!!!
Thanks, man! Please drop me an email with your details.
@@motorcycleadventures I already sent you an email!!
Best Regards!
Good luck in advance, happy you are not going alone. And I love your T shirt :):)
Godspeed my friend.
Thanks!
Thomas from Brasil - Thank you!
Just minutes ago I just finished my first long trip 870KM with my 100cc. You are an inspiration.. Good luck for u..!
Man I don't know why but I'm very happy that you are coming to South America. As a Brazilian motorcyclist I feel very proud and happy for you.
If you come by the southwest part of Brazil (specially Minas Gerais), please say so, I would do my best to share some beers (or some ice cream Lol).
I suggest you take a look at our state, Minas is one of the oldest, rich in culture good food and a lot of twisty roads.
Have a nice trip and enjoy!!!
Thanks, man!
That sounds like an awesome trip !
I am so excited for your upcoming trip to South America. I live in North America… New Jersey and I have been to certain parts of South America, beautiful country with beautiful people… I will be anxiously looking forward to your journey. Regards.
Can't wait mate....We are off to Thailand early November for 4 months, a mate of mine gets there earlier and is buying a new Triumph 400, I already have my Enfield 350 Meteor. We are planning a few trips right down to the Malaysian border and up to Laos and Myanmar. By then I will be 73 and Dave kicking 74...oh and we are taking our wives along. We have packed our bike before 5kg for the two of us, but Dave normally uses a Honda Forza and his wife packs the kitchen sink...but not this time, the Triumph has one saddle bag. Should be fun.
Will keep watch for travel/planning tips, thanks mate.
Pavlin, here in southern Brazil we have a different weather alltogether than the amazon region on the Northern part of the country. Think of avoiding the north, keep on the southern states, Rio de Janeiro bound to Rio Grande do Sul - down here it rains way less than the north. If you pass my state of Parana, you can stay at my place in Curitiba, the capital of the state. You already have my contact on your email. Please count on me for Brazil's regardig information. In my humble opinion, the best season to be here in Brazil for riding is April to June, during autoumn. Anyway, in our summer you will find - North: heavy rains every single day and extreme heat, bad roads; Northeast - some places with rain but there is a semi-desertic area with excruciating heat and a moderate heat on the shores; Central-west: heavy rains everyday and mud, hot as hell; Southeast: some rains in the afternoons and moderate heat; South: same as southeast but the temperature is more rideable.
Thanks! I will reply your email as soon as possible.
Pavlin, this is going to be the travel of the century, AI wish you to enjoy as much as you enjoyed Magadan.
Thanks, man!
Interesting. I have best friend I have helped over the years with her travels, two times to South America. It can very well be a nightmare and very expensive to ship to and from there. Their are no guarantees of time damage or if it even makes it. In the big picture it would be easier to fly to Miami or LA and buy a good used KLR KAWASAKI or something similar. But you can't beat a free bike to ride. Columbia is great. You can experience tropical jungle, highlands and snow covered volcanos all in the same day. Good fortune on the planning. Lots to see.
You are indeed a lucky man!😅
Yes, I am!
I wish you a more-or less safe trip. Just enough excitement to make the content 😁
I cant wait for your adventure .....I will follow all your prep. as I find it very interesting. I only travel in Canada ( shorter trip) on my ryker. I appreciate the chance to be able to see the world via Utube during your very interesting adventure. I have a Costa Rica friend that travel from Chili to Brazil a few years ago , Oscar is costa Rican and followed him during his trip. Alain & Yellow
Great, welcome to my backyard
Pavlin,ti si moj heroj❤Pavlin, you are my hero
Sounds exciting, Pavlin, the Americas is on my go-to list too. A very (VERY) expensive trip indeed. I hope everything will go to plan and look forward to watching your adventure.
Thanks!
I am inspired by your movies. Time for another to go on a solo adventure.
Good luck!
You must visit South of Brazil!!!!
I might, the route will be changed many times
@@motorcycleadventures Google for:" serra do Rio Do Rastro".
Hello Pavlin! I am Colombian and I happen to have an XRE 300 exactly like the one you showed us. A bit of advice on the bike: they have a really soft suspension, especially the rear. Try to do something to stiffen it up, because with your weight plus the bags, it will make it really low on the rear of the bike, and it will not only make it uncomfortable to ride, but potentially dangerous because the front wheel will be very unloaded. This is known issue about the bike and there are options available, as it is a popular bike in Colombia. Let me know if I can be of any help! I am in Bogotá and could also help you in Medellín, if you happen to go there. Cheers! Eduardo
Thanks, Eduardo!
3N in Peru is one of my favorite roads. It takes much longer than riding the coast, but there is a lot of beauty in the Andes
Good!
Hi I follow you since a year ago or so! Congratulations and the best wishes in your adventure at South America, I’m from Costa Rica, so I can’t give you routes or any other information for your journey, but think you can watch some RUclipsrs videos that have done the same trip, blessings!
Los esperamos, aqui en La Serena, Chile. Saludos!!!!
Sounds like a good trip.
Pavlin, great news that you are coming to south America, I'm form Argentina it is dangerous around Buenos Aires city mostly south and west of the city, there are thefts (specially high cc motorbikes, it is considered here 300cc and up) that killed a lot of motorcyclists around Buenos Aires city. For your security i recommend you to: 1. skip BSAS go north trough gualeguaychu to Uruguay 2. get around south and west access to BSAS city and come from the northern side.
I live in Buenos Aires and every time i want to go in or out in motorcycle from or to is at 2 to 6 AM.
Please be safe.
If you have any question or need help don't be afraid to ask.
Thanks for the info!
I am doing the exact same trip in October. lol
The raining season In Brasil ir is not that nightmare, and flood aren’t hapening everywhere…relax.
Good to know
Have a great time
Much Enjoyment 👍😎
Maa man ✌🏻 🇩🇿
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💪🏽👍🏼
Pavlin, who is the gentleman in the picture on your wall.
Love your channel.
Vasil Levski. Google it.
Страхотен маршрут. Очертава се невероятно пътуване. 😀
Със сигурност
نتمنى سفرا آمنا لكما ، good luck
Good idea. I learned a bit spanish before i went to mexico.
Good!
Gret video. I always love to her bout trips and the planing. I know Japan is. Small country BUT if yo ever plan a trip to Asia and it includes Japan please let me know.
I look forward to your future planning updates and the trip itself.
I plan to visit Japan, but still looking for motorcycle options
🤞🤞🤞Great T-Shirt BTW from "the end of the world".
I love it!
Start watching, no doubts you choose honda crf300 (rally), something like that, for south america🎉
Thanks!
Bogota, Colombia is full with motorcycles, lots of them when you're there you can see by yourself
Good
Come to South Africa some time. Alot to see in Africa.
I will
Before I go any further I have to warn you about the speed bumps in Peru. I had a speed bump tear the kickstand of my V-Strom and not just the kickstand but a part of my frame on which the kickstand mounts. There are speed bumps constructed by the authorities, speedbumps constructed by the little postage-stamp communities along the roads, and speedbumps constructed by Jose the farmer and his son's which are basically pre-mixed concrete placed across the road like a mini wall. The color of some of these speed bumps blend with the color of the roadway which makes it very difficult to see the speedbump...and of course there are no warning signs for many of these speedbumps. Be careful.
Good to know, thanks!
Well done. PAVLIN
Well, I can tell you to prepare to put on some pounds on this trip. You'll find plenty of excellent food in all those countries. Peru and Brazil especially! 👨🍳 In all those countries, people tend to be very friendly and accommodating to tourists.
Hi, another adventure, big adventure! As a Spanish i can tell you that I do not understand well Brazilian people, el acento de la gente de Portugal es distinto a la de los brasileños, pero solo es Brasil. Конечно you have to wear your old spanish cap
Thanks for the info!
I'm looking forward to seeing videos of your upcoming trip. I'm sure you'll do your due diligence, but be careful going through Venezuela. I'd contact your embassy there about your plans. It hasn't been as travel friendly in the last few years as it use to be.
We will see
And of course you will be welcome in Suriname where we have a healthy adventure bike culture!
Thanks!
This sounds like an exciting trip. I wonder if traveling on a lighter bike may give you some routing options that would have been impractical on the larger bike?
Probably!
A lot of thing can happen to a free promise in 5 months. I would keep working on contingency plans for getting motorcycles since you will be committing money to the trip before you know the promise will be kept. No shade on Thomas, he sounds amazing, but it wise to be prepared.
True
You should include south of Brazil in your jorney.
The route will be changed many times
grande
Good!
You should do Ireland again but this time don’t fall down the hole
Ok
Hi Pablin, I am a follower from Argentina, I love your videos. I sugest you contact Charly Sinewan, he now is in Greece ruding a Rally. He is on his way to Ushuaia but has to continue his trip from Ecuador, he iis from Spain but is fluent in english and has lots of fiends that can help in south america, he already went to Colombia, Venezuela and so on. I live in Mar del Plata and qould love to meet you sometime. Bye.
I will check it out, thanks!
rent a bike and take a road trip in thailand up to lao and over to cambodia and in to vietnam..done it many times..cheap fun and full of weird wonderful things..
I will
@@motorcycleadventures clean roadside motel in thailand 10-15 € a full meal 1-2 € cheap gas and crazy roads. its a real adventure
Best advice I can give you regarding a motorbike you like to buy. Get one from a European traveller. If seen people rejected with bikes bought in Chile. A European registration is a safe bet. There are vehicles being confiscated cause owners trying to sell and overstayed the visas cause they couldn't move their vehicles.
Shipping is the best option. You could share a container.
How do I know this? I'm here at the moment on a 5 month trip.
I'm 63 days in, travelling from santiago de Chile through Argentina into Peru. Avoiding the coast. The coast is wet, busy boring. I travel the mountains . Beautiful and dry. 63 days of sunshine.
Good luck with your trip.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Pavlin,,Indonesia
Hi Pavlin!
I'm from Uruguay, and you can contact me if you're coming here and need any help or advice.
just a few tips:
- Dont miss the north of argentina (salta, purmamarca, etc). Best riding ever with lots of different sceneries in few kms.
- there are some bikes in brazil that can be less expensive due that they build them there and dont have so many taxes, such as the crf 1100 africa twin.
- You'll be getting rain all year round in brazil
Thanks for the info! Please drop me an email with your details.
