This reporter is so incredible - she maintains her dignity and follows local customs simultaneously, she speaks multiple languages, and she interviews each and every person with respect. I really like her.
Not to mention she is stunningly beautiful. Including but not nearly limited to her looks. At least I find her so. Hind Hassan... an angel from heaven.
Everything about the "wellness" industry is controversial. From these farmers, to the multi-level marketing scams, to the wholesale fraud about any medical claims. The whole thing is a scam. Self-care is very important for a person's well-being, but you don't have to buy it from a company. You can just take care of yourself.
I don't understand how people trust these suburban white moms with no sourcing experience and validation, but distrust medical professionals who base their lives on testing and validation. It's fascinating and disappointing to watch this madness
@@mysterioanonymous3206 Yeah…but….Lululemon is special. You can look and act like you’re fit and work out, without having to actually lift a finger. If you wear them you’re a total Boss Babe!
The whole thing really is a scam. Its pretty telling just from the marketing tactics - selling people a cumulative health product that appears exotic and miraculous. Just the modern equivalent of snake-oil.
I won't lie, this just made me shed a tear and made me angry as to how international suppliers of refined products would shy away from all the injustice they do to the poor countries and start braging of how they have helped them build schools and hospitals. It's injustice.
Capitalism: developed countries the vast are slaves to stores, these people are slaves to supply the shelves. The school/hospital part is the feel good propaganda most people swallow to continue their purchases of materialism and consumerism. Carbon neutral the newest feel good buzz word. Swallow it good.
Same thing they did to those Villages in Africa, Jamaica, China, When it came them harvesting marijuana all for them to pay a village of 19-50 people 70 something odd dollars knowing particular strains that they find could Rake in Hundreds of Thousands of dollars. The illegal colonizing should be stopped. I feel bad for those village leaders who either knew no better or were desperate. 🙏🏽😩😞
Well deserved. Villages like this have so little power, to get the help of such a large platform as Vice. Bravo to this reporter for doing a really indepth job of understanding the subtleties of the situation...
I think thanks are due to people such as yourself who are not scared to face down those monsters of the world and seek justice for people who are vulnerable and for the environment.
This is really an amazing piece of journalism. I’m so sorry for all the victims, farmers, professor who got assaulted - everything about this story is absolutely terrifying. I’m full of respect for the journalist who went into this land and presented the story to the world. Especially as a young woman, it is amazing and truly inspiring to see this kind of work.
Despite the trauma she went through leading up their help, thank goodness the professor was with a colleague who cared enough to sense something was wrong and step in
Agreed. Especially given IsIs being involved her simply being a woman put herself at a high self security risk. Which is sad to even be a thing. Her privates are clearly bigger than all of us men balls put together 😆
I did supply chain management for a nutraceutical company. We sourced approximately 65 percent of our input materials offshore. As long as it met quality standards, we were always in the hunt for cost savings with no questions asked. I use to question some of the labor and environmental practices of our suppliers, but quickly learned that senior management has little interest in those issues. I laughed to myself when our marketing team rolled out a campaign about being "environmentally sensitive " and "socially conscious" because we reduced our packaging use by 10 percent. The wellness industry is a scam-they use carefully crafted language to make certain they don't make claims of any curative nature, there is minimal federal oversight, case studies for efficacy are funded by the industry, written by universities that are looking for a few thousand bucks. Fun fact: if an input material is literally one day from expiration, companies will mix it into the parent formula and viola! that input material gets a new Birthday...and expires in 2 years with the parent formula. The true hypocrisy of the industry is as illuminated here-third world workers receive a pittance so the average Starbucks drinking, yoga pants wearing, Tesla driving, entitled consumer can feel good about "taking good care of themselves"
@@BucketListMo Thank you. I could write a book on it. Take probiotics. The best probiotics on the planet are naturally fermented products i.e. sauerkraut, kimchee, even a low sugar yogurt. But, people tend to take the easy way and take a capsule of lab grown materials

This propaganda is everywhere. It makes the consumer (you) feel good. Carbon neutral a new buzz word you see more and more of which makes you think, “We can buy our ways out of pollution/climate destruction.” Continue consuming, consumer.
She is doing amazing journalism. She doesn't give up. I couldn't imagine getting asked to do a report on something as simple as essential oils and going so deep into it. She has more balls than I will ever have.
There is no way I’d ever keep my composure in that interview with Hassan. You are an amazing journalist, and have the bravery it takes to be one that uncovers injustice like this. Doterra should be ashamed of what they are a part of.
At a time when people complain about fake news and struggle to discern what is real and what is not, I deeply appreciate the risks journalists take and the passion they put into their reporting. Journalists (and everyone that supports them) truly are, like Sagan said about science, a candle in the dark.

It was not easy for me to go public in this way about being raped. However, if silent then abuse continues. Frankincense trees are sacred and the communities that harvest and sort the precious resins should be treated with respect and dignity.
Thank you for your bravery. I'm sorry for what happened to you. Let it be clear your voice here will stay in the internet as long as it exists. And perhaps one day or even right now become inspiration to affect change.
This is absolutely incredible, the journalist is so brave and should be recognised for her work. I hope that this is recognised and the company is shut down it is absolutely disgusting the corruption they are getting away with
When you grow up and start to actually understand this world we live in, you'd then understand a real journalist from these excuses for journalist, who are only puppets for the corrupt US government, and their only job is to lie to you, these comical accounts we see here, anyone could go and do, it's just a front to fool the easily led into believing "they care", they could not care a less, just go listen to all the accounts of every report they've given in the past, every war zone Vice lies about with US propaganda, yet we have to suffer reading the dummies that swallow it all like the good little propaganda believing uneducated plebs they are.
The whole world has turned into a massive melting pot of all the worst things you could possibly imagine, all becoming the reality today, and isn't it pathetic how we just don't see anyone bothered to stand up against this, and all this criminal censorship, not even prepared to stand up for all their own rights, rights of expression, rights to an opinion, and rights of free speech, rights, that our very own grandparents fought a world war to keep? As I've said many times now, there really is something very seriously wrong with these modern millennial's we really are suffering from today. Imagine, if only 20 years ago, a company like Google, was trying to dictate to you, what you could, or could not say? Imagine if only 20 years ago, a company like Google, were caught blocking our own comments, blocking our own opinions? Imagine if only 20 years ago, a company like Google, were caught removing anything that may show us the truth, removing anything honest, or any RUclips channel that would show us many various events, many live events, as they were happening, like the war in Syria? We've watched many channels, channels like "South Front" (as one example), who reported from the ground in those war zones, they'd show us all the action and much of the footage from the ground, (as it took place). Only because that led to us all seeing the truth, it led to us seeing the reality, and therefore, seeing exactly who it really was committing those heinous acts in Syria, (heinous acts we were being told were done by the "Assad regime"). While the truth was that they were all done by the USA, Turkey and Saudi Arabia through their terrorist proxies (they rename "moderate rebels" today), they commit those heinous acts, and they do it o then blame Syria and Assad. We also saw the same with Gaddafi! We saw the same with Saddam and the same with Yanukovych in Ukraine. Basically, they're murdering people in cold blood for no reason other than to blame on the so-called Assad regime. And because we watched those events go down (as they happened), it destroyed all the prearranged lies and the propaganda they all had all lined up and in place to run out on Twitter and Instagram, claiming Assad did it. So Google merely decided to illegally remove those channels from RUclips? What a disgrace! Today, they called those channel's propaganda? Since when, could anybody claim that something you can actually watch happen with your own eyes ever be called propaganda? If you can see it, and watch it?, it is the reality, the truth! These criminals today, we see remove RT, basically telling us all, they don't believe we're intelligent enough to know propaganda when we see it. And this population today, not only say nothing about it, no, they actually AGREE with it? HOW INSANE are these idiots today? Obviously the only reason they would do that, is because they don't want us seeing the truth about what they're really doing, and are planning to do, is the truth. Everybody should be up in arms about this, and this campaign of outright criminal, highly illegal censorship being carried out by corporations? I mean, are you serious? 20 years ago, every parliament and every government would be forced by the public's reaction, to be calling for Googles heads! And as for the people? Well, they'd have boycotted everything Google there was! Talk about a society today, of the lamest, most uncaring and cowardly people ever seen before on this planet? And today, they're all walking themselves straight into a life of nothing but American global Tyranny, and unbelievably, they're all happily going along with it! Utter backwardness, and on full display too, how weak and embarrassing you people really are today. It's more than incredible we could see this or anything like this, what a nation of cowards we really do have today, too scared to get out and take on these criminals today? We see far weaker and poorer societies, with only stick and stones taking on fully armed armies and their governments for their own rights, while this shower of weaklings and LGBT whingers here today, wouldn't dare. Thank God I've lived much of my life, this lot, today, are sealing their own fate, faster than Lance Armstrong could win the Tour de France, (with the PEDs). Vice News? I mean seriously there just must be something very wrong with you.

Ur delusional this is not some adghanistan this is somalilanns nobody touches or kills a women thats against our tradiitin anybwomen from anywhere and evrybody knows that
As soon as you said, MLM, I knew there was nothing but scamming and lying happening from the company itself to the main individual that sends them their supplies. Why people still purchase anything from anybody that works or is an independent contractor or whatever they want to call themselves for a company that’s an MLM should stop and be embarrassed and feel large amounts of guilt that they do so. If a person begins working for a company that new hire or independent contractor should not be paying that company in order to work for them. A company pays you for you to work for or with them. It is never the other way around. You should never have to purchase any type of kit or products before you’re allowed to try to go and sell those products to other people. You should have catalogs and information that is freely given to you by the company that you can go to people with and show them on the catalogs the products and then allow people to order what they might want. The person working for this company should learn information about the different products and what makes those products special. There should never be a need for the individual who is working for or with a company to buy tons of products so they can go and show a group of other people the products. There should never be a need for a large amount of products to be purchased every month in order for a person to even be allowed to continue working for that company. A company should never count products that are purchased by the people selling these products as part of the amount of products that were purchased that month in order for them to get credit. If they have to sell so much a month the only items that should count towards that monthly amount are items that were sold to individuals that have nothing to do with the company and have never sold anything for the company and are not an independent contractor for the company or work for the company or a relative of the worker. There should never never never be compensation to a person because they got another individual to start working and selling products for that company. The only compensation that should come to a worker is a percentage of the amount of the products that were sold and that is it. There should be no up line and there should be no downline. No individual should ever get paid for how many people they got to work underneath them and sell products. In addition the way a person makes money should never come because you got so many people to work for you and then the money you’re actually getting for selling the actual products is nothing. The only thing that should matter is the actual products. Think about this! The more people that start selling those products in your area and around you become more and more competition. Your area become saturated. There’s too many people selling the product and nobody can sell products. You don’t want to get a bunch of people selling the same products around you. You won’t be able to sell anything which comes back to why you should run from any company that is more concerned with you getting a down line then they are about you selling their products.
You neglected to mention the most important part the Unscrupulous American business Involved in the sales. This company didn't want to bocott Russia either
@@victirynom I think when anybody says, MLM company, the word unscrupulous is interchangeable. Every one of those businesses are exactly that, unscrupulous. If they cared anything about the people who are responsible for making these items or the individuals who sell their products they would not do what they do. I don’t know why it is so hard to shut down these types of companies. They should not be allowed to be a business. Pyramid schemes are illegal. There’s no way any person who is willing to actually tell the truth could say anything other than they are a pyramid scheme. Of course, the issue is always money. Unfortunately our politicians, these politicians are from all sides of the political spectrum, allow these types of businesses to continue because of money & political donations. Until the American people can stop allowing other things/ideas to pull us further apart from each other so we start working together things will never change. Of course companies who want to get away with not only bad but illegal business practices and also politicians who want to continue enjoying the trips and money will continue to find ways to get the American people to go after each other instead of going after things that are hurting people of every gender and race in this country.

Hind Hassan is an absolutely phenomenal journalist, especially by VICE standards (lol). I really admire how she goes into these precarious environments, frequently in regions where women are seen as little more than property, and has her eyes set on the truth. It’s so refreshing to see someone focused on reporting what’s happened/ is happening, asking the real questions, not being fooled by pathetic attempts at misdirection or deterred by intimidation, and not trying to politically charge something that has no business being politically charged. I take the time of day to watch her stories and I’m even occasionally willing to type out a flattering comment like this. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the bravery and true dedication, particularly to folks like Hind Hassan, and all of those out there with her in the field! Edit: I also wanted to point out, that it seems like VICE News seems to go to some of the greatest lengths to truly expose themselves in the culture and full context of the situation they are covering. Far too often, journalists just drop into some 5 star hotel for a day or two, check the boxes they need to fulfill an agenda or message, and get out as soon as possible, without fully realizing the context or culture of where they actually are covering. Keep up the phenomenal work!

Absolutely stunning journalism. Always find it comical when people downplay VICE and their journalistic legitimacy, reach, or importance. As a non-practicing journalist, VICE always comes with the FACTS, and I very much respect your work.
I am always skeptical of VICE as they were long ago bought by the Disney Corporation and the original creators have nothing to do with it anymore. That was around the same time they stopped covering foreign affairs properly; the war against ISIS in Syria and Iraq was very well documented by VICE but just a few years later they had sunk to mindless clickbait content aimed at Gen Zs that pandered to a progressive ideology. It's good to see they're finally doing some real journalism again- but the Disney Corporation is still involved at a higher level, so some of the "facts" may be twisted to suit their agenda of entertainment and US-centrism. Like for example that shot during the tense interview when a policeman grabbed this guy by the collar and yanked him out of his seat. That was especially... cinematic and impactful. Could have been a lucky shot, could have been on purpose to make a point about corrupt lawmaking in Somaliland. Don't forget all of this coverage paints a picture in people's minds of what these countries and their people are actually about.
As a Do-terra customer for quit a while this is a disturbing shock to me . And what really bothers me is that Do-Terra would not sit down and talk to the journalists. I’ve heard all the suppose to be amazing things they bring to all these countrys and harvesters. If do-terra had nothing to be ashamed of or hide why not grant the interview? Now I’m second guessing what’s really happening
Doterra is not even certified organic. They claim it is "Pure Certified Pharmaceutical Grade" which is simply a made up trademarked term and standard of their own making that means absolutely nothing in any real regulatory context regarding supposed oil purity. The company is an MLM model that is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah which is Mormon mafia central.
That's because companies will say ANYTHING to get your money. Or will do one good thing for the community and spin it to their benefit, and never do good for the community ever again.
Thank you Vice for exposing Asli Maydi. My condolences go out to the professor who was sexually assaulted by Barkhad. It’s quite sad that this was brushed off but thanks to VICE for their wonderful journalism, maybe those innocent traders can get some type of justice

This makes me want to research more into how ethical is the products we choose to support and consume. For the fact dōTERRA denied the journalist in the end, Hassan staging a set up just to cover up there level of corruption set volumes. Good job Vice for this piece.
Acknowledging the exposé would have far reaching consequences, one of them being the moral dilemma of clean hands. Given the executive links to the LDS church this is of the utmost importance. It's better PR to feign ignorance and milk plausible deniability for all its worth.
I didn’t know this was about the frankincense trade, from the title. I thought it was going to be about the heavy metals in herbs, powders, and spices, from India. Or maybe the video would be covering a lot of topics, concerning the products in the herbal industry. This, on frankincense in Somaliland, is a great topic and really thorough reporting. Much appreciated. Would you kindly consider investigating more about the products in the wellness industry? Thank you.
It's not one company. It's a mindset. Most of these companies are selling products which are based on unsubstantiated health claims - something con artists do. And when it's MLMs, it's usually 95% con artists and 60% true believers because some are both.

I've know that US corporate colonialism still continues to prey on the Global South from lithium mines to cocoa harvesting, but I'm still shocked whenever I learn about a new industry doing this practice. If anything, the Wellness Industry is the rule, not the exception. Many Americans (even the ones with good intentions) racistly believe we're the "savior" and need to "save Africa," when America has consistently screwed over and preyed on the Global South from the overthrow of the various governments (Congo, Ghana, Iran, Brazil, etc.) to Operation Condor. Africa can only be "saved" when we treat them as actual trading partners and empower them to make their own decisions and prices for their own resources. VICE, thank you for being one of the best sources for world news.
Americans want to believe we're spending peace & democracy when we're just creating war & poverty. The military industrial complex thrives on the killing of others while the masses wave flags.
mmm pretty sure its the warlords and locals that are taking advantage of the farmers. If you watched this documentary you would see who the villain is in this story is a locally owned businessman. The local traders making millions aren't exactly splitting their profits with the farmers either. If there was no western demand for these goods would the farmers have anyone to sell to?
I have nothing but respect for the journalist. Thank you for doing this, I make cosmetics and like to use essential oils, but certain oils have been off the table for me for a time due to not being able to make sure they are sourced ethically (I've even been looking into bying my own distilling kit). This documentary has strenghened my resolve to double check the ingredientents I use and where they come from. And if you're not sure, it's better to use something else. More often than not many cosmetic ingredients are not produced ethically.
I have mixed emotions after watching this. On one hand, I love the videography, the drone footage, and overall how it was shot. Knowing the native tongue, I'm happy about how the captures were accurate. Keeping these companies accountable, I'm all for that. Nothing new here, Western world taking advantage of Africa's natural resources.
...with the help of local criminals, governments, and everyone in between. Unfortunately, this one isn't as easy as saying "West = bad" and pointing at DoTerra (also an MLM scam in itself). The whole thing is just tragic.
Don't just point the finger at the west. I know it's the done thing these days but just blaming the west is incorrect. The people on here are being used and abused by their own corrupt business men and governments. That Hassan guy is clearly using propaganda to manipulate the people into his way of thinking.
This is so heartbreaking to watch, this needs more attention and the government need to do something about this and stop these vile people taking advantage of hard working people !!! Everyone who took part is so brave and well done for the amazing hard work !
It's always infuriating when people are exploited, and the gall of that guy to set up the journalists and call them a hit squad. You just know he's a real dirty SOB and the stories about his misdeeds are true.
I am from Somaliland, the man who is responsible for the devistating damage to the locals is true and that people doesn't have to basic live support (schools, hospitals and MCH's).
Such a complex story compressed into an hr. I use this particular essential oil daily. Thank you to your entire team for opening my eyes to more of the ecosystem and it's dealing surrounding the harvesting/manufacturing of Frankenstein. There's much to consider with only being a consumer now. Rather, it always has been much to consider regarding this and everything else I partake as a human. Again, thank you all.
We as consumers ( not bought a single product from this company yet and I don't intend to) could put pressure on the company and I think we even have the power to put an end to it. Let's not underestimate our power. Let's make them feel the pressure by boycotting their products and encourage others to do the same by spreading this documantary. The reporter put her life in danger and the least we could do is boycott this company.
Corruption runs deep in Somalia. Poor farmers - it’s humiliating. Fair play to this journalist and her camera crew for been unafraid and talk these risks for the world to see. Thank you to this warrior 🙏 NO TO DETERRO ESSENTIAL OILS
This was a very great story, I enjoy Vice. If that guy was willing to assault an American who worked with the companies that he distributed to, you can only imagine how the women who were shown sifting the resin are treated.
This is an amazing piece of journalism and a very informative investigation. I don't see a reason vice news restricted this video to watch in my home country where this investigation occurred. Vice news should make available this video to all their RUclips subscribers.
Just watched this video about the MLM doTerra after watching a Ted talk about cults. The speaker actually referenced the “essential oils” industry, and their promise of community, social change and health. It is of no surprise to me that DoTerra is one of those culty, lying companies. Also: Why are these MLMs always based in Utah? Is it Mormon policy to lie and cheat? Or are their state laws just incredibly permissive?
I don't think it matters... doTERRA already is at lobby level, they already have funds set aside for lawsuits, the only thing that can hurt them is the consumer
you know 15 years ago i was just a young teenager in the uk watching my school and community flood with somali people and i was so prejudiced towards them.. now i understand all the things these people went through in the last decades i am totally sympathetic now
Lol…the British Navy single handedly decimated the Somalian fishing grounds back in the 90s. Literally, destroyed over 50% of the entire countries livelihood. Imagine a colonial tyrant comes and destroys 50% of every single industry in your county. Literally, every other store/shop/business is closed down for good. Half the channels are off tv…half the sports teams are gone…..half of EVERYTHING, decimated. And you’re mad at them? Yikes! No wonder they’ve resorted to piracy.
@M3X It’s kind of hard to research. Everyone likes to point the finger at the “culprit”, but forgets why that culprit has to do what he did in the first place. You have to look up Somali Ministry of Fisheries and the Coastal Development Agency (CDA) in the 80s. Basically…they started a program that opened their fisheries to select foreign investment, based on regulated joint-ventures. The regulations were highly guarded by the Somalia Navy. In 1991 the Somalia Civil War started, and the Somalia Navy was disbanded. This left their fisheries open to any and everyone who came down. There was nobody left to guard the regulations. Instantly foreign trawlers came down a ripped apart the seabeds. With the power vacuum successfully in place, the British Navy decided THEY should be the guards of the Somalia Fisheries, and went down and made their own regulations. Locals and Somali fisherman were soon boxed out and even sabotaged. (There is a case of the Brit Navy cutting all the net-lines…and claiming it damaged their ship). The fisheries are decimated and nothing is left for the industry-use for Somalians. I’m not going to argue that piracy is acceptable. However we should look at what caused it…and what nefarious actions were in place that led to piracy. They are doing it out of necessity. Because they had everything stolen from them. Here’s another correlation: Pre-British Involvement…Somalia’s main export: fish Post-British Involvement…Somalia’s main export: blood diamonds and gold mined by children. …..once again….out of necessity.

Incredible work. And touches on - most women are assaulted by someone they know. Friends, family, partners, colleagues. Men may act like animals but they know what they're doing. They understand consent. They just view women as property. Access to women's healthcare is so important.
You negatively categorize an entire gender when you say, "Men may act like animals..." There are people in this world that are simply horrific. Evil doesn't care if you're male, female, or animal. Please understand that I am not making excuses for the men in this video. They are trash and should be dealt with as trash. However, as a member of the male species I must point out that there are men who are proud to be the complete opposite of evil. We treat all people equally, minus the previously mentioned trash. I personally believe your words to be almost true. If you had made the distinction I spoke of then I would agree with you wholeheartedly. That being said, I commend you for courageously speaking your thoughts and I respect your right to your opinion even if you did intentionally lump all males into one category. If you take the time to read what I have written and give it some thought, I would be quite grateful.
The solution isn't to stop using frankincense completely, we can do this sustainably and ethically but we have to demand transparency and accountability in supply chains

Look up the value of 1kg of royal frankincense oil I was told by an essential oil alchemist of more than 15 years it's near 25k in Oman so how can a grocery store sell a vial of frankincense oil for $6 and buyers expect it to be potent? Buy pure frankincense resin If possible get the actual tree resin

Great reporting, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. This type of unethical not to mention illegal business practice must be stopped but the local authorities are too weak to take action for many obvious reasons. Also, it’s very interesting that this video made by #Vice cannot be viewed in Somalia. People in the region are getting this message “the uploader has not made this video available in your country”, wonder why? Lastly, it’s time to boycott #dōTERRA and should also report their overseas business practices that they are engaged in to local businesses that resell their products. Action starts with me, going forward, I am certain now that I will never buy #dōTERRA’s products.
There’s a hell of a lot more companies in North America that do this type of exploitation overseas. Bring ALL of those businesses HOME where quality is better as proven by history and jobs increase as proven by history. Stop sending jobs overseas that can be done here and if we need to purchase and import anything then be the powerful countries that we say that we are and pay fair market value….oh wait….THAT is what the Government TELLS us they are doing/have done/will do…..ahhh the lies, no matter the country, on this big blue marble are everywhere.

You’ve delusional. This is a company built on an MLM scheme. The entire industry is built on deception and greed. There’s no honor from the top of the pyramid down to the bottom of the “downlines’ of every victim who’s been suckered into buying their inventory. There’s not a verifiable shred of evidence to back up a single claim made by their products. If not for dirty lobbyists influence, the whole industry would be classified as a pyramid scheme (which it is) and shut down. They don’t care about anything but the billions in profits. And they don’t care that part of that money is being handed directly to ISIS.

Yes 100%. All MLM’s are predatory, therefore the base of their business is usually shady or outright criminal. Just like DoTerra.
By the way, I don’t type all that or any of that. That would be crazy and take forever!!! I use Talk To Text….great thing on a cell phone!!!

Next time make a comment like that when she sees the Al-Qaeda Taliban or Alshabab, you are one complete imbecile next time you think for five minutes before you type even one letter.
Facts, admire her and Isobel Yeung
The region that Hassan went to, is the seat of Queen Arawelo.. google it!
That’s so disrespectful. Who are you to speak on behalf of Somali women in such a degrading manner? We are not seen as property stop projecting your false ideas on people.

What an eye-opening documentary, great journalism. Thank you. I copied the video link and posted it on the essential oil agency's frankincense videos in hopes that their unsuspecting buyers will see your documentary and stop purchasing the essentially stolen oils from them.
Thank you Hind Hassan and the team for giving voice to the voiceless. Your bravery and professionalism deserves our utmost respect.
Dear VICE news, please add her to your U.S correspondents list. She is a great journalist. That shows her courage that most journalists would be shaking in their boots. Great reporting VICE NEWS.
Wow, once again I am blown away by the incredibly high level of professionalism, integrity, and dedication to finding the truth, by the folks at VICE News. I must say, y'all do not mess around (well, actually, I love the humor series VICE does, too. Taji is a gem, haha). The reporting is really next level - Not many do it like you folks. No matter what is being covered, I always appreciate whatever I am being educated about.

Same here
Moral of the story : doTerra lies and steals from impoverished communities

Look into Nestle & Bayer
This is so true. The fact we might not ever know if our ethical products are truly ethical is terribly upsetting.
Thank you.
This would be great to investigate!
I hope the company gets sued for fraud!
It's not one company. It's a mindset. Most of these companies are selling products which are based on unsubstantiated health claims - something con artists do. And when it's MLMs, it's usually 95% con artists and 60% true believers because some are both.

All those native tribes being exploited and we are supporting this with our wallets. I think it’s an injustice how unaware we are as consumers.
Amazing. I hope Corey Lindley CEO of doTerra, and the whole company, gets word of this documentary. Thank YOU!
@M3X
It’s kind of hard to research.
Here’s another correlation:
Pre-British Involvement…Somalia’s main export: fish
Post-British Involvement…Somalia’s main export: blood diamonds and gold mined by children.
…..once again….out of necessity.

If you take the time to read what I have written and give it some thought,
