Top notch classic Australian Rock and roll!! This was absolutely huge when it came out, got used in many tv shows movies and advertisments due to its popularity!!
Wolfmother is an Australian hard rock band from Sydney, New South Wales. Formed in 2004, the group is centred around vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale, who is the only constant member of the lineup. The band has been through many personnel changes since their formation, with the current incarnation including drummer Hamish Rosser and bassist Brad Heald, both of whom are former members of The Vines. The original - and most commercially successful - line-up included bassist and keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett. Ross and Heskett left Wolfmother after four years in 2008. Stockdale, Ross and Heskett formed Wolfmother in 2004 after several years of informal jamming. Signing with independent label Modular Recordings, the band released their self-titled debut album in Australia in 2005, which reached number 3 on the domestic albums chart. It was released internationally by Interscope and Island Records the following year, and to date has sold in excess of 1.5 million copies worldwide. After Ross and Heskett departed, Stockdale rebuilt the band with the addition of bassist and keyboardist Ian Peres, rhythm guitarist Aidan Nemeth and drummer Dave Atkins, who released Cosmic Egg in 2009. Peace out.
Awesome song! I saw them live a cuppla years ago, and old mate with the hair toured with the legendary Russell Morris late last year, who I saw as well ❤️❤️
I will always have an imprinted memory of my wife pregnant with my son almost headbanging in her stomach only a few weeks before we lost him. That was the same time we heard Guramul and he was reacting differently to who we watched. That will never be forgotten. Blues festival 2011
Shame the film clip is so distracting. These guys go off. Worth checking out Minds eye, Woman, collosal and white unicorn from them as well. They're an amazing stadium rock band. There sound is too big to imagine them just playing a bar
Yeah, agree. Their big hit Joker & The Thief sounds as good as ever. The video is a distracting disaster, completely unnecessary. There's better clips available featuring the song than this mess.
I dunno man, I've seen them playing festivals, where they smash it, but also the Wool Exchange in Geelong, and they hold up just as well. Any venue, any time. :)
Great Aussie rock band, this song became popular due to The Hangover! Some other Aussie bands worth listening to are Jet, The Vines and I know you’ve reacted to Powderfinger before but for a great vocal performance listen to Powderfinger’s song Passenger
Hey mate, they used the song in one of the movies but its a Aussie band. Also the guy you thought that passed away, it wasn't him but his best mate Ryan Dunn although the guy you thought had passed isn't doing great these days either.
It may have ended up being much bigger here in Australia, but it's so hard to understand how people don't know certain songs that would have been huge in their teens/20's/30's especially.
This song seems to feature at a lot of sporting events as music filler between plays/ breaks, innings. You may recognize it some time. Wolfmother also played Communication Breakdown at the Led Zep Hall of Fame induction. Don't get those sort of props easily.

Powderfinger is another iconic Aussie rock band you should check out in particular On My Mind, My Happiness or These Days. Great Aussie pub rock band! After you've listened to them I must introduce you to Midnight Oil. This band have changed Australia, the world and the way we think. They have helped educate and support real issues within our country from the awful truth of how our indigenous people are treated to how our government allow the mining companies to destroy the environment and global consequences. So many songs to choose from over many albums but perhaps start with Beds are Burning, Blue Sky Mine or Power And the Passion.
I can’t believe I never caught onto that with Jet, dude. Both bands sound Kyle the music my Dad’s written, but when I showed him this band I’ll never forget his reaction. Badass. I’m glad people actually give them - at least what feels like the deserved - “classic” rock sound. It’s clear what their influences were, and I do love the fact that it’s at least acknowledged. I feel like that’s different, weirdly unfortunately with my other love, hip hop. It’s hard for people to show big ups and inspiration without being shit-talked in a way. Unless you can pick up on what you’re hearing vs the visuals. (Think Token, for example).
did not like the video but I remember this song...which I loved. they were pretty big in their day....I think this might have charted in the States too
Well it's not a review... it's a reaction to something somebody requested for me to do and I actually loved it but if somebody didn't want me to pay attention to what's in the video it woulda been better just to send the song and lyrics but they didn't so this is my actual authentic reaction

Popular doesn’t mean good. Overrated Aussie band, fallen into the abyss of countless other “fad” bands.
You must be a hoot at parties
@@slipswitch I think “fad” is a strong word. They certainly struggled to follow up their first few albums, much like Jet
Great band live. Seen them more than a few times now, and always put on a great show.
They were used at my favorite college basketball team's home games.

Never was never will be a “stadium” band.
I saw them when they opened for guns n roses in Melbourne, Wolfmother was better and I love guns n roses.

This is hands down one of the hardest songs I've ever covered!! What a jam. I'm commenting before I watched so watch for another 😂😂
i used to listen to this song A LOT a long time ago so good
There's a hockey team in Finland called the Jokers (Jokerit) and they play this tune all the time.
Ah this brings me back. Love that distortion
This song featured in the first Hangover movie.
The louder the better! 🤣 🇦🇺🤘🏻🇦🇺

I was in my 30s when this came out but I still know it.
Love love love this band‼️‼️‼️❤️
I had completely forgotten about this song! 😁
So has the rest of the world
Don't forget to check out Thirsty Merc and Silverchair dude!
Wolfmother has had their songs on a few video games including need for speed and one of the battlefield games.
Love this song... It reminds me of Uriah Heep, especially the organ sound.
Some other Aussie bands are Jet and Silverchair
Jet and silverchair should not be used in the same sentence
@@slipswitch Is this fella ready for the "BAit"
They’ve got some great tunes!
You need to check out "Silverchair" when they were kids, 16yrs old.
Good band, you are going places dude. Loved your 2 CELLOS show. Enjoy all the music
Haven't heard this in years... now I want to go and listen to the album.
