I mentioned this on their video, but I'll say it here too, this song with the calls and backgrounds gives me "The Hu" vibes.

Great reaction, Mortius-yeah, Ekaterina needs to definitely make more appearances with acapella groups when possible. I’d also pay to see an opera she’s in. She’s stunning.

great reaction!! so glad you watched it twice. at the beginning you see as dragon fly right to left. you see him flying in the background several times. her movements, particularly with her arms being shadowed look to me as representing the flying dragon. her arm movements both shadowed or not give the whole piece movement/motion.

I am told (because I have no idea myself) that the rune with the up arrow, the "B" and "X" looking things stand for "The Bass Gang". Ekatarina was the winner of a talent show--I can't remember which country, but a "X Country's Got Talent" type show. She is a opera singer and is a friend of Peter's (or at least that's what I understand). Her first name is pronounced Ee (like "EEK") Cat (like a kitty cat), uh (like the first syllable in onion) reen (like green) uh.

The sort of song that leaves your jaw dropped. This just rocketed to the top of my favorite TBG song, and one of my favorite acapella songs EVER. You're right, there's acapella that crosses over the threshold of listening to it for vocal fascination and enters into the realm of "I'd listen to this at the gym"... or in this case, while playing D&D or larping.

The Bass Gang is one of my favourites, and I've been following Ekaterina for awhile, so I was stoked to see this collab. You really should check out another Canadian female singer that is incredibe. Faouzia. She's 23 and writes most of her own songs. Her most recent video is amazing, Fur Elise (live performance. Lots for you to pick out in vocal technique.

you have been my introduction to bass gang. thank you. secondly dan vasc his latest video "my heart will go on" cover of celine (titanic). i always knew something was missing in this song and it was dan vasc isn't in it. now metal singer sings metal my heart will go on. he also has nessun dorma, sound of silience, kiss from a rose (which ptx released on )their
2023 xmas album. ptx now is not the ptx you knew. perhaps a double reaction. to hear dan sing at the opposite side of the spectrum try music of the night from phantom. on a personal level you, mortius, watch his cover of pour some sugar on me. a def leppard cover

They have layerd the voices. When there are multiple of the same faces, they probably were filmed singing the several parts. I think that the editor wanted to create the same multi layered audio and video als you would see in the Peter Hollens RUclipsvideo's only this format looks messier, but that might be the intention to make the video look more organic and not stylized.

  • @anniek4681

The song is absolutly fantastic. I do have a point of critisism, their makeup looks like they found mommy's eyeliner and started playing with it.
I know this was Viking (the show) inspired. But this look like a cheap copy of the make up done by Voiceplay in Walhalla calling. I assume that that is a coincedence.
The TBX easter-eggs werent so much easter eggs. To "in your face" ...litteraly the only subtle easter egg worthy one was the one on the side of the scalp. I think if they had toned down on how many runes (and TBX markings) they had on their face and hands, it would be more classy.
The girl's make up and voice for that matter were absolutly superb. She is born in Russia, and some some of her techniques are also used in the asian parts of Russia in their folk music.
