Hi, for your cast iron - 1 scrub out rust with steel wool or Lodge rust remover tool (get all of the rust off). 2 wash the pan in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. 3 re-season the pan by putting a thin layer of cooking oil (not enough to run just a very thin layer) put in a 450 to 500 degree oven for 1 hour and 4 let the pan cool in the oven so the seasoning sicks to the pan and cure.

You've got those gorgeous eyes, a big open smile, and that heart-shaped face that carries it so well. Not to mention, your complexion is just about perfect. I don't usually gush about appearances, but honestly, you dont need anything. I'm sure there are thousands of us, if not more, who would agree. ❤

Chain mail scrubber is a cast-iron saver when it comes to rust and cleaning. Scrub it with soap and water, dry it on stove top. Then coat it with bacon grease and wipe off excess. Then put it upside down in 400 degree oven for an hour, let it cool and repeat oil and oven. Two times should be enough to reseason. Be sure to wipe off excess oil.

Becky, I was in Banking for 34 years and county government for 16 years and I always used a big desk calendar. I would make notes on the individual dates, then if I was interrupted, I would make notes along the side. Once the month was over, I just folded the page in half and file it. I could not even begin to tell you how many times I would refer back to those pages for phone numbers that I had jotted down or things I had on a “to do” list or things like that. When you get one, look for just a basic calendar where there is room for notes along the side or somewhere around the outside of the actual dates. I think you will enjoy it.

I wash my cast iron in soap and water every time I use them. As long as you season it after, modern dish soap isn't going to hurt your cast iron. Do remember that if you soap the outside, you then also have to oil the outside.

Becky, don't use steel wool on your cast iron. It can scrub pits into the cast iron. I simply use a mild soap and soft cleaning sponge, then dry very good, put a small amount of oil on and then into the at about 250° for about an hour. Some of my cast iron I've used for all my married life ..... 56 years. As the time goes by and the use of the cast iron is so easy to keep up and use. I enjoy all your videos!

I love my Herman Miller Aeron chair. Can sit for hours with no back pain. Pricey, but quality, and there are usually plenty of the B size available from places that sell used office furniture. And, of course, a thrifted antique side table would have so much more character than a cheap and flimsy, big box one.

Hi Becky, regarding your cast iron pans, I've used mine for years. When getting rust off, you can either grind it off without using too much pressure or soaking your pan immersed in water and rust remover. I've had most luck with the grinder. To prevent rust, you can use pot dividers, which you can get in the dollar store or paper towels. Every time you use your cast iron once cleaned, use a few drops of oil ( whatever you have in your kitchen)and spread it around top and bottom with a paper towel. Your office chair, I would recommend a gaming chair. I know they are great since gamers sit long, plus they can come with neck and lower back support. Hope this helps, and don't forget if the chair feels uncomfortable. You can always use a pillow for your bum.

Cast iron remember to never use soap on them just use hot water and a scrubber, and when seasoning a cast iron you want a high smoke point oil then place upside down in a oven and repeat after cooling it for at least 3x , and after each use re-oil to keep it seasoned. Just remember cast iron will create a buildup on the bottom and sides if you uee a low smoke point oil continuously, and it looks like an flaked buildup. I have my grandma's cast iron that were past down even the old clothes cast iron in 3 weights which are such a treasure I cherish. Both of my parents were raised using cast iron so I was preached at about upkeep, and I appreciate that knowledge so much because the taste of food is so good cooking with cast iron. I hope this helps you some.

I use a course grind salt to scrub off the rust. I just use a dry rag to rub it in. It takes longer, but it takes off the rust without taking actual iron out of my pan. Once you think you have it mostly off, I wipe away the remaining rust dust that is loosened in the process with a oily paper towel until no more dust comes off on the paper towel. Then I re-season the pan in the oven.

Love the idea of taking a picture of your list. I’ve been trying to do that before I leave my house because I inevitably leave mine sitting on my table at home. If I remember that is. I wish I was as organized as you. I have bought so much stuff I see on your videos. I’m trying. 😂

Heya, agree with you on the fine point pens and pencils. For your goal of better table dressing, there is an art of napkin “origami “ that easily classes up a table. (Scarily, it also works with paper napkins too.)

I was for ever looking for a working pen in my house. When we moved after 30 years in one house, I filled a 2 gallon zip bag with pens. I think I found them in every room, every drawer.

My husband used to put cast iron in the fireplace in a VERY hot fire to get it ready for restoration. He left it there for a few days, then washed it thoroughly and oiled it generously.

For your cast iron, use a copper metal scrubbie! Best thing I ever invested in. Once you have scrubbed them with warm soapy water, dry them on the stovetop. Don't use any veggie oil of any kind on your cast iron. It gets sticky and gross over time. Use only animal fat. Lard, tallow, or bacon grease. A lot of people bake theirs in the oven. You can do that if you want. I don't. I love my cast iron.

Love my Cast iron, my mom told me years ago, not to use any soap products on my cast-iron if it was really hot or if the water was really hot. That would minimize the amount of soap that would get into the pores of the cast-iron. That's just something I've always remembered. So I scrub my pans with SOS if my pans are not hot, and my water is only warm and then after I rinse all the soap off really really well then I'll go about the rest of the process.

I restored my grandparents’ cast iron. I just put it in the oven on the self clean cycle and let it burn all of the build up off. I think I would try the bbq if I ever had to do it again only because there was so much build up from years of use that it put off a ton of smoke in the house. I was able to just scrub off the ash and reseason them when I was done. It doesn’t sound like your pans are that bad though so there may be an easier method to just deal with the minor rust.

I watched a lovely lady, on her old property, clean a thrifted cast iron pot. Scrub with soapy water. Rinse. Start cooking bacon lardons in it. Cool. Rub in rendered bacon fat. Voila. No more rust. I think she even ate the bacon!😂

Self-ground peanut butter is the best! Also convenient if you know how much a cup of PB weighs, then you can buy an exact amount for a recipe and not have to measure.

Becky, I'm a self-proclaimed pen and pencil junkie. I've worked in the business world for over 25 years. The best pen is Precise V5 fine point, and the best mechanical pencil is Papermate Comfort Mate Ultra 0.5 or 0.7. I refuse to use anything else. Give them a try, and you won't be disappointed. Blessing to you and your family.

I am a Viva signature cloth user also. I’ve been getting them on Amazon delivered. About the loud Target music - I thought it was just me! Haha I had a horrible experience once when trying to grab some comfies for my daughter who had just gone through a pretty big ordeal in birthing my grandson premature. I was so upset trying to concentrate on size and comfort of what she said she’d love to have for the hospital that I actually told a manager how upsetting it was. It was so loud and difficult to be there that they lost me on some pretty big sales I planned to make. Went elsewhere. And I love music. But it was like 1am night club not fun shopping for ppl my speed lol. Anyways - Have a very happy Valentine celebration with the grands!! Looking forward to your upcoming episodes on what you’re creating.

I noticed you do a lot of parties. I was wondering if you have ever done something a bit more basic for people just starting out cooking. Things like how to read a recipe. How to follow a recipe. What a balanced meal/plate looks like. Maybe even a little meal planning for a week. I know there are people trying to figure it out and could use all the help they can find.
