    Good deal..i had a 418 w eddy heads done by Barton many yrs ago.
    3200 Dart
    4.30 gear
    Ati 3500 stall
    1 5/8 tti headers
    Holley 750 dp
    93 pump would go consistent 10.70.and 80s at 122 mph.
    Had a ton left in it but didn't have the knowledge and wanted it for street use 99.9% of the time.

    That car is great! You might benefit from a looser stall, but you should really test some different launch Rpms. The 4,500 stall in my 72 swinger does best launching around 2,000 rpm. That will allow the converter to flash, and help with weight transfer and reaction times. Every converter flashes differently in different builds. If you put the car in third at a slow roll and mat the gas, that will tell you what the converter actually stalls at. Then when you footbrake it, try about 1,500-2,000 rpm less than that. If that’s not an option, simply launch at the amount of Rpms required for the engine idle to smooth out. These two options should work with either converter. Good luck 👍🏼

    • @SimpsonsSpeedShop
      @SimpsonsSpeedShop  4 года назад

      Ya but what I know from dyno this current converter was way to low. It did change from previous motor to the new build and added 500 rpm b not nearly enough. Thanks for watching! Subscribe to not miss my next video.

    I said. To myself you need a 4500 stall conv but me personally i would put in 456 gears also and my guess would be 11.10 to 10.90 and stay off the highway, most of all thanks for the gear ride

    The track lacks any length its not much better than doing a lick at an intersection late night, you need a track that lets you learn the car at a Quarter mile not one that only allows you to work on your 60 leap, nice car good driving, i subscribed no complaints that track is not your fault at all just say'in i hear the car approach its appetite and before it can come to life and preform you shut it down..you are going to want Nitro or turbo eventually there is no end at going faster..

    That first run was exactly what I saw the first time I ran down the track. How long was that parking lot you raced at? I hope the wimps that race here in Fl don’t get any ideas (some of those folks should just rev their cars in the driveway instead of wanting all the 1/4 mile tracks to race 1/8 mile). USA We stand on guard with thee!

    Looks like you're running calvert split mono leafs and cal trac bars. What are your thoughts on these for street and strip? What's the ride like?

    Great video, thanks for sharing! I had a good paragraph typed out but when I clicked the comment button it only posted the first sentence & a half. Anyways, I was wondering if the torque peak is where you want it to hit coming off the line & the HP to push it further down the track. Just curious, what tire pressure you were running & did you play around with them to if made a difference? Best wishes with your new converter! Stay safe & healthy out there!

    1/8 mile tracks are so incredibly boring to watch.

    Cars sounds sick !! Making moves in the right direction is always rewarding. I'm sure the 4500 stall will pick it up quite a bit.

    500 hp will run high 10's in the quarter in a light car, low 11's in a heavy.
