Hmm. I started playing 2 months ago. Didn't know about this history of the game. I agree with the admin. I see people just grinding for candles these days. The little time I'm able to manage I use it to grind candles instead of talking to my friends. Same goes for my friends also. Whenever I join my friends I see them always rushing from one map to another for candles and no talking. Some of them have even started ignoring me coz they wanna grind candles fast. I see more and more upcoming money oriented events like halloween and days of feast and what not. I hope they introduce something in future which will make it all worthwhile.
I know this comment is old ,but I usually just chat and fly and collect wax in the way , occasionally we rush to the wax events ,but it's efficient to collect and chat all together, I also sometimes play music with randoms or just fool around with friends,I guess it's just the people you are around with (generally)^^.
Giving Hearts to your friends should be free. That way it actually matters to make friends who want to give. The way it is now people still have to farm candles like crazy in order to keep up with anything, and so spending at least three candles to give 1 heart each day becomes a lot...A lot of people dont want to give hearts back and forth, because they cant afford to "waste" their candles. My average candle run gives me about 12 candles (i play the game for 2h a day which is more than i even want to put in to it), and if i spend 3 candles to give a Heart to a friend, then its gonna take me very long to save up on candles. And also hearts, since im only getting 1 a day.
I agree. Because of the cost of hearts I only exchange with 2 close friends. I’ll sometimes trade hearts when another friend is online and they agree. Otherwise it’s just the two friends. Hearts are so hard to get (take so long)
When I first started the game, it wasn't all about cosmetic. I did feel the fun and joy discovering it with friends. But right now it is just grinding and collecting cosmetics. I've been invested too much not to grind anymore, and the only thing I can do is just chill at home with friends, play music, but that's it. I think it would be difficult to create a game that's purely focusing to help others, since we also need good and kind hearted people to do that. I've never seen much more welcoming community than sky (not saying there arent troublemakers) so that's still good, but in the end I couldnt think of a single system in which any company are able to profit without it. And I personally think TGC is also running out of ideas on what to do with sky, since it would be impossible to introduce too big areas and even so, players would just finish it within 2-5 hours.
I mean even playing music is underwhelming, the octave range is really low and there's NO minor keys. Absolutely infuriating when you hear a song, want to play it in Sky and realise majority of it is in black keys. Oh and the random changes in scales for seemingly no reason messing up your songs without warning.
Demon Saint honestly they could’ve just completed the lower and higher octaves as well cause 12 keys for one octave seems a bit too much unless they wanna cut off the high and low octaves it’s honestly the only reason why I transcribe music into sky so I could play it without worrying about the sudden scale change
@@mayovketchup True. The option should be there to customise what keys are shown though. Personally I'd like 1 octave on the lower end and all with the extra minor keys. It would probably fill the screen, but with each row being an octave, it should only require a minor size adjustment to compensate for the extra keys. Although maybe an arrangement loadout system could work, so you could set custom keys in any arrangement (like how you can change layout on the Switch) tailored for different songs.
I'm not trying to force anyone, to do something they don't like ( for thier own personal reasons) but there's one thing for sure, TGC is starting to become greedy and it's apparent. I'm not a hater or anything and I knew and thought they had good intentions at first but at this point.....I can't say that anymore...there's just way to many red flags at this point that proves this fact. and I appreciate your effort you put into this topic since I didn't really see a common sense criticism of this game in a while, since I couldn't really see common sense criticism of this game. when I searched, I could only find hints and angry comments nothing really to debunk what really was happening, so I give the creator credit for this. However this isn't my point, my point is that (and this is coming from a veteran that played sky for 2 years and quit long ago) nothing new is going to be worn even after you buy and get all the exclusive cosmetics and what not, trust me your going to wear it for a bit in one day then afterwards it's going to be discarded in the closet. This depends ofc this is based on my exsperience. But if your having the similar situation, and your feeling mentally drained and feel like there was less time for your own self care, YOU NEED TO QUIT! these overly exspensive digital cosmetics, that are probably going to be discarded, once you realize you can't take it anymore. it's eventually going to drain your energy and time for months or days on end. if you don't do something, otherwise your mental health is going to be gone at that point when you realize, that all your time, spent on nothing once the game shuts down. what I'm saying is that this is a sign that enough is enough, you'll need time for yourself and your own life and trust me when I say this, you'll have better things to do in life. good luck whoever you are and stay safe, peace out ✌️
thank you for commenting. 💕 i was also a 2 year sky vet (i started playing sky on launch day 💫). i decided to quit the game shortly after the season of flight was announced. i posted a message of farewell along with my username, date, and time. fair enough, i decided to post a farewell message on genshin impact and honkai 3rd impact as well after months of inactivity. for all games mentioned, i have lost interest due to a number of reasons. my friends were either not interested in these games to begin with or became inactive after a short (or otherwise, long) period of time. it was also quite difficult for me to make friends due to grinding. i felt as though the cosmetics introduced in all games held little value. i would just attempt to grind and receive either little or nothing. there was barely any sense of satisfaction or payoff. the currency and systems of each were, although intentionally designed, flawed to mess with one’s psyche. i would continue to purchase to receive the praise of others and meet the desires of my own. yet, the systems completely wiped the potential of me ever gaining full payoff. i’m sorry for what has become of sky: cotl and i wish for the current situation to improve, but i can only hope. thank you for reading for my comment. 🌈
I enjoy some of the cosmetics (bc they’re pretty) but I also don’t like that they’re becoming the main focus. I want to have more adventures with friends (other than following each other on boring candle runs) and see new quests. Honestly, the Little Prince quests were the most enjoyable ones I ever played through. The ones for other seasons were just ok. I wish they’d put more focus into the new season quests and new quest events you can enjoy with friends, rather than just saying “hey, here’s a simple 3 minute quest for you with no interesting context”
Wouldn’t it be nice to earn capes and cosmetics as rewards for completing mini games and quests and not just with hearts and candles, and maybe gifting certain capes for friends?
Ok here is a list of all the things that I feel like destroy sky. -TGC is adding a new event almost every month and they get more and more expensive -The new seasons added are also way more expensive than the older season (e.g. lightseekers needed 270 seasonal candles to complete and flight needs 390) -Players who ain't rich or live in a very expensive country can't afford a single iap and they are sad about this -The most thing talked about is cr or how much candles someone has -My friends almost only ask for cr -Ts are also way too expensive imo -Too many iaps. Halloween: 11 items in total 3 are f2p but hella expensive and 8 are iaps. 111 dollars in total -one thing. Just one thing. 28 seasonal candles for a trial spell??? -last but not least just think about it. We grind all day to get some candles to buy cosmetics to dress us up. That's it nothing with friendship or gifting something to friends. PEOPLE MOSTLY THINK ITS A WASTE OF CANDLES TO GIFT A HEART TO FRIENDS. EITHER TRADE OR YOU JUST WASTED 3 CANDLES
In my opinion: Players tend to focus on cosmetics because what are we going to do after the candle run? Repetitive staff, Already explored areas and etc. So, we have nothing to do but to wait for the events and new season. I think TGC need to change something that we can enjoy more aside from candle running, trials and item finding.
Thanks for this! I am a new player and have found myself falling into the hustle of gathering candles when the new season started. I got into the game because it is calming and sweet. I'm gonna step back and really be conscious of my gameplay so that I don't hate the game or feel it's a chore. The game itself (story, music/sound, art) is incredible.
I'm gonna complete my one year on sky really soon . And I've been noticing that there are more and more events happening in sky lately . What I feel is that when I started playing the game we still had enough time with us to do candle run and also enjoy our time there . The events had enough time between each other so that if we wanted we could even skip the candle run for a day or two and just enjoy the game talking to people ,whereas now I feel like if I miss even a day of candle run , I might loose some good cosmetics . I was always a collector from the beginning but now collecting items is becoming stressful . Also the IAP items have increased a lot , I'm ok about the prices becuz its not something they control but the increase in the IAP items is what worries me . I just hope that they could just take it easy and give us enough time between events so that everyone can enjoy it better .
And then we have 70 candles and 20 hearts for Days of Feast (or more than 300 candles for non-veteran players) Ooof sometimes I wish some events hadn't in game-currency cosmetics :(

Hi,old player here.Ok I’ve been playing this game for a year now and only have some cosmetic,some exclusive some ordinary but the meaning behind grinding candles and trading heart for them are theirs functions rather than the aesthetic.I used to stuck in that mindset that I have to get everything that is available so I could feel nice about it so I invest my time,money and some sleep for them but after a while I felt bored so I stop playing the game to focus on my current life.I still playing this game but I don’t feel as guilty as before.Yeah time change people change.
I played this game for 2 yrs, where I started from Season of Enchantment. I saw the game have very big difference. Especially what Mr. Sky Summer said. For me... SKY is a money making company 👀 idk that's right or not but I feel there's nothing special... Just new season and event with some IAP item... Nothing new 👀
I have been playing sky for a year now and I quit a month ago because it's just too overwhelming for me. I played it first because of my friends and enjoyed it but the more I play the more I get burnt out because there is barely any point in the game anymore all the "friendships and wholesomeness and love" Is just bs because almost every person I meet in sky only cares about candle run. Sky used to be my comfort game but now it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth because the game is slowly falling apart from how greedy tgc became and yet people are still defending them?? It all started from days of rainbow/the little prince season and they became more and more greedy from that point and add the fact that the community is toxic, before you say "no!! the community is very nice and wholesome I have never seen any toxicity before" the community is slowly getting toxic and you can't deny it? it's literally infested with a bunch of creeps, racist people, and toxic people in general. I mostly advise moths to stop playing after they finish eden because once you did it countless of times it just, lost the meaning and you don't feel the same when you first finished it. No accomplishment, no happiness and sadness, just another weekly eden reset. If you still want to play sky I suggest you don't candle run too much. Even if you miss the cosmetics your mental health matters more
i've been playing for almost 1 year now, the first event i even knew had two iap and three cosmetics at a reasonnable price... now you get at least 4 iap per event and the rest is becoming more and more expensive, even for veterans... Yet many players defend it, and tgc know that, and know they can push more :(
I agree!!! When i started the game it didn’t feel so focused on cosmetics, nowadays i just feel so burnt out so many iap’s and so many of these “free cosmetics” cost so much candles nowadays, it feels like playing sky is more of a chore than what its supposed to be, playing with friends.
been paying the game since light awaits. I been singing this song for so long. I have everything now, i don’t want anything else. All my friends left, i like the game, but i don’t have anything to do. But the cosmetics became a big part of the game after gratitude. I am glad that i am not alone on that, been shutdown sooo many times on that official server. Spoke so many times about the toxic positivity there.
They really need more minigames to play besides hide n seek all there is to do for me is grind or chat

This reminds me that I am so disappointed with the new geyser. Before it, I had made a lot of friends going to geiser, we sat down in chairs and talk, then we would add ourselves as friends, because you just needed to be near the geiser to receive light. Now, I can't even chat, because we need to stand up every minute to rush around the geiser, it's very unpleasant. I like the old geiser, I made great friends that I talk until those days, now TGC, always thinking the best for the community that is not about cosmetics, has changed it.
Last Summer I started to play Sky. I was so happy and excited! The game was wonderful and I got so good friends🥰 The Season of Flight was super and cool, but then I realised that it’s not a good game anymore😞 One of my best friends quit Sky. She was the one who showed me Sanctuary Island. Months ago, I wanted the violet cape so I started to grind hearts like a zombie. I‘m quite rich but it doesn‘t matter. Sky is now a big fashion show, where we all are the fashion victims. We‘re staring at our phones and tablets, to do a candle run every day. We‘re dreaming in our own fantasy world, because the problems and worries we have are too big. We‘re searching for the perfect game, and we think we found it. The Days of Bloom are coming, but I don‘t know if I can farm 10 candles per day in 1 hour! It was big luck for me, that they start on Monday. 185 Candles just for two capes and spells. Like someone in the comments said, you don‘t have time to just sit with your friends if they‘re even there. Everything is a waste, you must be better than the others, it‘s like a bad parody from Fast and Furious. So, I give you a good personal hint: Just buy that what you really want!!!
the funny thing is that i would LOVE to be able to send gifts and stuff to my friends. and i've seen a handful of other people say they would love that too. and i've said it before but sky is supposed to be a social game that makes it really hard to be social or form real connections without spending candles and having to cr.

I just starting it bout the start of little prince, I play this game because I see my friends does and its interest me a lot. once I played it , I was so speechless BCS how beautiful the lore and graphic. Not like other mobile game, this one should have a rise. But the longer I am in the game, the more hungry to cosmetic I am. like.. I'm in rush for elder ultimate gift, but also traveling spirit will come every two weeks. Im not a pro, but... i better get 10 candles in 30 mins rather than 4 hours for 20 candles (saw this quote on someone's boat) yes I am agree . me and my friend grind 13 candles everyday so we can catch up with ts, after we done grinding, we just chilling , playing music and chat or roleplay.
What do you expect from a company that has lied to their veteran players (initial player base), especially keeping things exclusive. That itself was huge sign of warning. and no, i'm not one of those brats that wanna gatekeep cosmetic for "exclusivity" sake, my anger arise towards TGC, why did they do that? Why did they lie in the first place? I mean i can understand extremely well why certain veterans get pissed off whenever someone says to bring back exclusive items. There quite a few number of sky japanese players who are selling their account for $1500, $2,500, $3,500 all the way to $7,500, all you need is 1 owl hair in your account and boom! you can charge upto $1000+. And this is just the Japanese market, I haven't even touched the Vietnam and Chinese market. I'm stating this just to show the extensive amount of damage that TGC has caused with this concept of exclusivity that in the end 100s and 1000s of dollars are circulating WITHIN the players base instead of going towards TGC because of this stupid gatekeeping. Instead of pumping IAP, there were more meaningful ways to make money. If i look at these market place and seriously consider selling my account for real, I can probably make up to $3,500, coz i also have the owl hair. If I really hated TGC, I would have just sold my account for all I care and leave. But it hurts me to see the direction in which this game is going and not at all accommodating to new players whatsoever. I want this game to flourish, NOT go downhill
I didn't play light awaits, but the heart system feels like a lie as well. There's this willful ignorance that hearts arent currency. They insist that they are meant to be *gifted* not traded. 🙄 Don't get me wrong, I still love the game for what it is, but stop trying to hide the obvious truth. Hearts are a currency so they can't be a gift. Who hands their friend $5 as a gift? If they want "stand out" players to stand out because of the strength of their friendships, then they could *start* by making giftable cosmetics and items that can ONLY be gifted. Eliminate the hearts as a middleman it's obvious.
I'm just amazed at the price of one veteran account like woah. 1 AP = $10. That's $10 you spent to get the ults and there are people willing to pay at least $1000 for an owl hair😱. Thats a HUGE profit margin.
Sky is my all-time favorite game, I have played it for about a year now and I play it every night with my friends. I couldn't imagine not having it as a beautiful space to hang out with friends. But I have to say the iaps are getting a little crazy and even in seasons you can't get much without an AP. It is becoming more about the cosmetics and less about the beautiful game and friends. I miss how it used to be 😞
Agreed. The only players I would even think about giving them to are two friends. One who lives in Korea so I never see anyway. And one who got banned for hacking… we don’t talk much
I feel like youre right with everything you say, but I figured out a way for myself to keep enjoying skykike I used to. I am still working on getting new stuff of course, but that is because I actually like them. Mostly Im just hanging out, talking, listening, giving concerts... I just think for me this is the way to go and I still love this game, I dont really blame tgc for anything

I just give thanks to everyone who gives me AP and anything, even tho... I never wished to get AP or anything, but i do care with my close friends in game😊.. I only play sky for an hour in a day (or more). Thankyou for the good content❤️.
been playing the game for 2 years. Quit the game in between, frustrated over the candle running job, trading hearts and expensive cosmetics. Now I am back to spend time with the few good friends i made, and not focusing over cosmetics. It has become much more easier to enjoy the time i spend in the game with my friend(s)
It's not like they actually care about you but over and over again they say, when with the time find out today but I really don t know and its about to snow but I just say hey, At least its not rain. And they act like they care but they all just stare at the thing they thought was you, but you stare at the snow and look at the glow of the sky that was bright and blue. But now you simply stare and the things that do not care and their hatred is looking at you. So you glare at the ones who do not need a stare but simply need a brighter blue.
its sad to see the direction of where the game is going I joined in about the beginning of assembly and even in those 6 months of playing the game feels different now, everyone just grind and grind and grind and no time for friends anymore Even I lost some friends and have no time for adventures all I do is grind everyday and when new things come out just buy and repeat the cycle The things you buy may just be to flex or to look good on yourself but what good is it just to flex on other players that you meet for one minute TGC will most likely not change this for a long time - the constant grind will continue, but if they don't change I dont see why the players would stay, especially the veterans
Its not only about comestics and grinding candles (This is one of the reason i really didnt enjoy playing Sky with my ex girlfriend) "faster, you missed one, ok im going now" - When the true heart of this game is the landscapes, playing music and being with others (like i play with my new girlfriend haha) Ive purchased the cape is love the most with real money but nobody is telling you have to buy those to play and enjoy the game. I may consider buying some more items with real money, but the prices are just too high imo. If you are a collector and you HAVE TO buying everything, i wont blame TGC either for getting dat money. I think I might take a break after season of flight is over, I bought the AP so I won’t waste my money by leaving mid-season, but I’m starting to feel burnout. I re-downloaded the game in July and I had fun until I realised sky had become a lot more cosmetic focussed. I started doing full candle runs and not having any time to actually chill and talk to other players. I felt joy in getting these cosmetics for a while but it’s started to drain me. Everything is so expensive! In order to get these cosmetics I have to grind for candles everyday and it’s getting boring. I wish they’d space the events out a little more and have more friend-focussed features. I first downloaded sky around early 2019 and it was completely different. I was a moth at this point, but I still spoke to people and had fun. It doesn’t feel like that anymore.
TGC need to add some new permanent content other than candle grinding and item finding, veteran only wait for new events and season and had no new content to have fun.
Agreed. The skies were supposed to be clean, bright, and easy to breathe. But, after a while one notices the bitterness or the smog. I've breathed so much of it before, so I sometimes will not be able to tell the difference between the clean and dirty. I have even fueled it, buying some products myself to support the developers. However, it is hard to not see from the edges, with or without a candle. It doesn't just affect us, it affects those on the ground. I just hope they look at its extent, before it's too much.

You can get unlimited adventure passes for friends, and I know some people who buy many aps and gift them to others. They are also working on an IAP gifting system in sky beta.
The game lack of fun feature to do with your friend other than interactive emote and flying around for a game boasting about social adventures is the highest and easiest red flag you can miss Edit : Also when Non IAP stuff is considered “free” while it can cost 100 candles you know the community is blind as fuck
I'm a 1year old player of sky and also, I'm an f2p which is a good opportunity to quit since I spent nothing in the game. Yea, yes, I'm still playing sky just to candlerun on 2 realm and spending only few cosmetic since everyday I use the same cosmetic. From my view, sky is becoming more expensive day by day like, why would you spend a 19.99 dollar cape in game when you can spent a 5 dollar one irl??? I rather play cookie run kingdom which you don't have to repeat everything and it fun for me to mess up. Grinding coin and diamond are easier in the game cookie run kingdom then sky in my opinion. I don't want to review sky in a negative way but this is my view on sky. Almost most people is all about COSMETIC instead a friendship. But I glad I found a few friend who is not into those stuff, they usually just hanging out after candle run in 2 realm or 3. I'm very sorry if my english was bad. English isn't my first langguage 😔

And bcs you only gain respect and attention from the community by rocking the most expensive and extravagant cosmetics, I lost the correct perspective too :( I always think I will miss something out if I don't buy this or that and at the end I regret that I bought the most expensive iap cosmetic and I wish I could get my money back and return it or atleast stop being greedy and give it to my special friend who would actually appreciate it more then me. I know the reality before all of this, I realise the reality when I complete forest constellation and get forest elder hair I realise I waste my time my hard work for just a hair I feel so regret and pain after realise it. I forgot it's just a game for few time in my life I gone in the illusion this is for life time. I think TGC have to cheap cosmetic and also have to less cosmetic if not they do I think this game gonna to be big fall. And I observe one thing about one month every player come in the game and collect candle and exit the game they don't stay with friends and no sit anywhere to chat just like a race that's makes player alone that's why they leave this game. For me it's all about cosmetics now It said here that sky is a game about friends and helping them,but there is barely anything to enjoy because of dry content. They could just add things other than candle running or buy iap that are too expensive for most of the playerbase, many players are even suggesting to add mini-games there are so many ideas out there you could take so the players can enjoy things more I have been candle running for so long that I even forgot what is the purpose anymore just cosmetics? where is the enjoyment in that if people don't have that certain cosmetic they want too I just wish they could add free things aside earning them from iap or igc it's stressful for new/old players who don't candle run that much

I can.. And I'm Willing to spend money.. Only on stand out games like forza horizon, Gta5 etc. Bcoz spending on these games do mean one thing.. You get your money back (or at least a part of it) when you sell your account. But spending on underrated games like sky.. It's gonna be a real trouble afterwards
Friendship is a non-profit thing. Kindness is a non-profit thing. Love is a non-profit thing. These are not supposed to be about cosmetics, about how cool you look, about how many candles you have. these things aren't built through heart trade, nor through buying each other season pass. They are created through interactions, through the chat system, through spending time together. Just be honest, you cant make money off these things. Sky has a great idea, but is isn't an idea for a business and a company. Developing a game with the same ideal of friendship and kindness sky had at the beginning is something I would only do if I become a billionaire. Something that I would only do if I expect no revenue
I think it depends on you how you want to play the game. Do you want to play for cosmetics or do you want to just play with friends and while playing, do all the dailies? If player wants, they can play sky with friends and enjoy it. Its no necessary to purchase every thing that sky developers bring with every season. Also i think buying pass for friends is a way of thinking about both yourself and your friends. And ofc, sky devs will extract money from players. Its no shock. And before their game has even released, they are obviously not going to say this out loud.

Was this video before they added a feature that lets you buy iap and gift it to friends? I haven't been playing the game long so sometimes what is normal for me turns out to be a new thing for older players Also, maybe the iap gifting is what they meant/planned...but to talk about "buying for friends, not for yourself" years early when it hadn't actually been implemented yet is odd As much as I like the idea of hearts as gifts, like how people keep saying that its supposed to be gift so you cant ask for heart trade in the sky server, I admit that trading is usually how I get hearts from friends. Sure I sometimes send heart cause I enjoyed playing with them, or they send me heart but still. I send one back if they send me one, because in my head it is now something I need to pay back instead of simply accepting it as a gift. And I dont want to disappoint them if they expected me to send back. Yeah I hope TGC doesnt get as aggressive like in other mobile games. Once I saw people saying TGC should put ads in the game and just- NO. They said they'll watch loads of ads to get- you guessed it, *cosmetics*. I love this game, and I do love the cosmetics I got, and I felt some accomplishment when I get to buy a cosmetic I worked for, but I wish that they'd they a "break". A period of time where there are no new seasons. Just ts to give the moths a chance to get items from past seasons, and less of the Days of ----- events. Then they focus on fixing problems in the game, whether fixing glitches and/or thinking of ways to change the system to have it focus more in the friendship aspect. The new theater was a nice addition though, cause it gives a new way for players to interact. They should add more of things like that. I'm feeling hopeful.
There are too many cosmetics I just stick to the look that I like so most of the cosmetics don’t bother me I don’t need them. I find the emotes are becoming far too many
In App Purchase. Real money So the adventure pass is iap. Each mini seasons there’s 1 to 3 in game currency cosmetics and about 4 real money ones. Season of mischief has 3 in game currency cosmetics, one for 67 candles one for 99 candles, and one for 30 some hearts While there are like, 10 cosmetics that can only be bought with real money. Ranging from $5 to $35 per cosmetic…. For hats and capes… That why some of us are salty

I think anyone has the right to complain. Companies change when they know the opinion of their playerbase; they tend to stagnate when their players do nothing but compliment the game. And a player shouldn't settle for less, if it's a game they love.
hm... i partly disagree with you. i love the fact that they give us free cosmetics spells so that people can wear cosmetics even though they dont purchase. and i also think that tgc does focus on new maps and new decorations for events, for instance, the upcoming winter feast.

Hmm. I started playing 2 months ago. Didn't know about this history of the game. I agree with the admin. I see people just grinding for candles these days. The little time I'm able to manage I use it to grind candles instead of talking to my friends. Same goes for my friends also. Whenever I join my friends I see them always rushing from one map to another for candles and no talking. Some of them have even started ignoring me coz they wanna grind candles fast. I see more and more upcoming money oriented events like halloween and days of feast and what not. I hope they introduce something in future which will make it all worthwhile.
I know this comment is old ,but I usually just chat and fly and collect wax in the way , occasionally we rush to the wax events ,but it's efficient to collect and chat all together, I also sometimes play music with randoms or just fool around with friends,I guess it's just the people you are around with (generally)^^.
Giving Hearts to your friends should be free. That way it actually matters to make friends who want to give. The way it is now people still have to farm candles like crazy in order to keep up with anything, and so spending at least three candles to give 1 heart each day becomes a lot...A lot of people dont want to give hearts back and forth, because they cant afford to "waste" their candles. My average candle run gives me about 12 candles (i play the game for 2h a day which is more than i even want to put in to it), and if i spend 3 candles to give a Heart to a friend, then its gonna take me very long to save up on candles. And also hearts, since im only getting 1 a day.
I agree. Because of the cost of hearts I only exchange with 2 close friends. I’ll sometimes trade hearts when another friend is online and they agree. Otherwise it’s just the two friends.

When I first started the game, it wasn't all about cosmetic. I did feel the fun and joy discovering it with friends. But right now it is just grinding and collecting cosmetics. I've been invested too much not to grind anymore, and the only thing I can do is just chill at home with friends, play music, but that's it. I think it would be difficult to create a game that's purely focusing to help others, since we also need good and kind hearted people to do that. I've never seen much more welcoming community than sky (not saying there arent troublemakers) so that's still good, but in the end I couldnt think of a single system in which any company are able to profit without it. And I personally think TGC is also running out of ideas on what to do with sky, since it would be impossible to introduce too big areas and even so, players would just finish it within 2-5 hours.

I mean even playing music is underwhelming, the octave range is really low and there's NO minor keys. Absolutely infuriating when you hear a song, want to play it in Sky and realise majority of it is in black keys. Oh and the random changes in scales for seemingly no reason messing up your songs without warning.
Demon Saint honestly they could’ve just completed the lower and higher octaves as well cause 12 keys for one octave seems a bit too much unless they wanna cut off the high and low octaves

The option should be there to customise what keys are shown though.
Personally I'd like 1 octave on the lower end and all with the extra minor keys. It would probably fill the screen, but with each row being an octave, it should only require a minor size adjustment to compensate for the extra keys.
Although maybe an arrangement loadout system could work, so you could set custom keys in any arrangement (like how you can change layout on the Switch) tailored for different songs.
I'm not trying to force anyone, to do something they don't like ( for thier own personal reasons) but there's one thing for sure, TGC is starting to become greedy and it's apparent. I'm not a hater or anything and I knew and thought they had good intentions at first but at this point.....I can't say that anymore...there's just way to many red flags at this point that proves this fact. and I appreciate your effort you put into this topic since I didn't really see a common sense criticism of this game in a while, since I couldn't really see common sense criticism of this game. when I searched, I could only find hints and angry comments nothing really to debunk what really was happening, so I give the creator credit for this.
However this isn't my point, my point is that (and this is coming from a veteran that played sky for 2 years and quit long ago) nothing new is going to be worn even after you buy and get all the exclusive cosmetics and what not, trust me your going to wear it for a bit in one day then afterwards it's going to be discarded in the closet. This depends ofc this is based on my exsperience. But if your having the similar situation, and your feeling mentally drained and feel like there was less time for your own self care, YOU NEED TO QUIT! these overly exspensive digital cosmetics, that are probably going to be discarded, once you realize you can't take it anymore. it's eventually going to drain your energy and time for months or days on end. if you don't do something, otherwise your mental health is going to be gone at that point when you realize, that all your time, spent on nothing once the game shuts down. what I'm saying is that this is a sign that enough is enough, you'll need time for yourself and your own life and trust me when I say this, you'll have better things to do in life. good luck whoever you are and stay safe, peace out ✌️

i was also a 2 year sky vet (i started playing sky on launch day 💫). i decided to quit the game shortly after the season of flight was announced. i posted a message of farewell along with my username, date, and time.
fair enough, i decided to post a farewell message on genshin impact and honkai 3rd impact as well after months of inactivity. for all games mentioned, i have lost interest due to a number of reasons.
my friends were either not interested in these games to begin with or became inactive after a short (or otherwise, long) period of time. it was also quite difficult for me to make friends due to grinding.
i felt as though the cosmetics introduced in all games held little value. i would just attempt to grind and receive either little or nothing. there was barely any sense of satisfaction or payoff. the currency and systems of each were, although intentionally designed, flawed to mess with one’s psyche.
i would continue to purchase to receive the praise of others and meet the desires of my own. yet, the systems completely wiped the potential of me ever gaining full payoff.
i’m sorry for what has become of sky: cotl and i wish for the current situation to improve, but i can only hope.

I enjoy some of the cosmetics (bc they’re pretty) but I also don’t like that they’re becoming the main focus. I want to have more adventures with friends (other than following each other on boring candle runs) and see new quests.
Honestly, the Little Prince quests were the most enjoyable ones I ever played through. The ones for other seasons were just ok. I wish they’d put more focus into the new season quests and new quest events you can enjoy with friends, rather than just saying “hey, here’s a simple 3 minute quest for you with no interesting context”

Ok here is a list of all the things that I feel like destroy sky.
-TGC is adding a new event almost every month and they get more and more expensive
-The new seasons added are also way more expensive than the older season (e.g. lightseekers needed 270 seasonal candles to complete and flight needs 390)
-Players who ain't rich or live in a very expensive country can't afford a single iap and they are sad about this
-The most thing talked about is cr or how much candles someone has
-My friends almost only ask for cr
-Ts are also way too expensive imo
-Too many iaps. Halloween: 11 items in total 3 are f2p but hella expensive and 8 are iaps. 111 dollars in total
-one thing. Just one thing. 28 seasonal candles for a trial spell???
-last but not least just think about it. We grind all day to get some candles to buy cosmetics to dress us up. That's it nothing with friendship or gifting something to friends. PEOPLE MOSTLY THINK ITS A WASTE OF CANDLES TO GIFT A HEART TO FRIENDS. EITHER TRADE OR YOU JUST WASTED 3 CANDLES
In my opinion:
Players tend to focus on cosmetics because what are we going to do after the candle run? Repetitive staff, Already explored areas and etc. So, we have nothing to do but to wait for the events and new season.
I think TGC need to change something that we can enjoy more aside from candle running, trials and item finding.

Thanks for this! I am a new player and have found myself falling into the hustle of gathering candles when the new season started. I got into the game because it is calming and sweet. I'm gonna step back and really be conscious of my gameplay so that I don't hate the game or feel it's a chore. The game itself (story, music/sound, art) is incredible.
I'm gonna complete my one year on sky really soon . And I've been noticing that there are more and more events happening in sky lately . What I feel is that when I started playing the game we still had enough time with us to do candle run and also enjoy our time there . The events had enough time between each other so that if we wanted we could even skip the candle run for a day or two and just enjoy the game talking to people ,whereas now I feel like if I miss even a day of candle run , I might loose some good cosmetics . I was always a collector from the beginning but now collecting items is becoming stressful . Also the IAP items have increased a lot , I'm ok about the prices becuz its not something they control but the increase in the IAP items is what worries me . I just hope that they could just take it easy and give us enough time between events so that everyone can enjoy it better .

Hi,old player here.Ok I’ve been playing this game for a year now and only have some cosmetic,some exclusive some ordinary but the meaning behind grinding candles and trading heart for them are theirs functions rather than the aesthetic.I used to stuck in that mindset that I have to get everything that is available so I could feel nice about it so I invest my time,money and some sleep for them but after a while I felt bored so I stop playing the game to focus on my current life.I still playing this game but I don’t feel as guilty as before.Yeah time change people change.

I have been playing sky for a year now and I quit a month ago because it's just too overwhelming for me. I played it first because of my friends and enjoyed it but the more I play the more I get burnt out because there is barely any point in the game anymore all the "friendships and wholesomeness and love" Is just bs because almost every person I meet in sky only cares about candle run.
Sky used to be my comfort game but now it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth because the game is slowly falling apart from how greedy tgc became and yet people are still defending them?? It all started from days of rainbow/the little prince season and they became more and more greedy from that point and add the fact that the community is toxic, before you say "no!! the community is very nice and wholesome I have never seen any toxicity before" the community is slowly getting toxic and you can't deny it? it's literally infested with a bunch of creeps, racist people, and toxic people in general.
I mostly advise moths to stop playing after they finish eden because once you did it countless of times it just, lost the meaning and you don't feel the same when you first finished it. No accomplishment, no happiness and sadness, just another weekly eden reset.
If you still want to play sky I suggest you don't candle run too much. Even if you miss the cosmetics your mental health matters more
i've been playing for almost 1 year now, the first event i even knew had two iap and three cosmetics at a reasonnable price... now you get at least 4 iap per event and the rest is becoming more and more expensive, even for veterans... Yet many players defend it, and tgc know that, and know they can push more :(
I agree!!! When i started the game it didn’t feel so focused on cosmetics, nowadays i just feel so burnt out so many iap’s and so many of these “free cosmetics” cost so much candles nowadays, it feels like playing sky is more of a chore than what its supposed to be, playing with friends.
been paying the game since light awaits. I been singing this song for so long. I have everything now, i don’t want anything else. All my friends left, i like the game, but i don’t have anything to do. But the cosmetics became a big part of the game after gratitude.
I am glad that i am not alone on that, been shutdown sooo many times on that official server. Spoke so many times about the toxic positivity there.

This reminds me that I am so disappointed with the new geyser. Before it, I had made a lot of friends going to geiser, we sat down in chairs and talk, then we would add ourselves as friends, because you just needed to be near the geiser to receive light. Now, I can't even chat, because we need to stand up every minute to rush around the geiser, it's very unpleasant. I like the old geiser, I made great friends that I talk until those days, now TGC, always thinking the best for the community that is not about cosmetics, has changed it.

Last Summer I started to play Sky. I was so happy and excited! The game was wonderful and I got so good friends🥰 The Season of Flight was super and cool, but then I realised that it’s not a good game anymore😞 One of my best friends quit Sky. She was the one who showed me Sanctuary Island. Months ago, I wanted the violet cape so I started to grind hearts like a zombie. I‘m quite rich but it doesn‘t matter. Sky is now a big fashion show, where we all are the fashion victims. We‘re staring at our phones and tablets, to do a candle run every day. We‘re dreaming in our own fantasy world, because the problems and worries we have are too big. We‘re searching for the perfect game, and we think we found it. The Days of Bloom are coming, but I don‘t know if I can farm 10 candles per day in 1 hour! It was big luck for me, that they start on Monday. 185 Candles just for two capes and spells. Like someone in the comments said, you don‘t have time to just sit with your friends if they‘re even there. Everything is a waste, you must be better than the others, it‘s like a bad parody from Fast and Furious. So, I give you a good personal hint: Just buy that what you really want!!!
IAP should give you the item and a free copy that you can gift to other players, just like an AP.
the funny thing is that i would LOVE to be able to send gifts and stuff to my friends. and i've seen a handful of other people say they would love that too. and i've said it before but sky is supposed to be a social game that makes it really hard to be social or form real connections without spending candles and having to cr.

I just starting it bout the start of little prince, I play this game because I see my friends does and its interest me a lot. once I played it , I was so speechless BCS how beautiful the lore and graphic. Not like other mobile game, this one should have a rise. But the longer I am in the game, the more hungry to cosmetic I am. like.. I'm in rush for elder ultimate gift, but also traveling spirit will come every two weeks. Im not a pro, but... i better get 10 candles in 30 mins rather than 4 hours for 20 candles (saw this quote on someone's boat) yes I am agree . me and my friend grind 13 candles everyday so we can catch up with ts, after we done grinding, we just chilling , playing music and chat or roleplay.
What do you expect from a company that has lied to their veteran players (initial player base), especially keeping things exclusive. That itself was huge sign of warning. and no, i'm not one of those brats that wanna gatekeep cosmetic for "exclusivity" sake, my anger arise towards TGC, why did they do that? Yes, these are japanese illegal selling and buying account market. There quite a few number of sky japanese players who are selling their account for $1500, $2,500, $3,500 all the way to $7,500, all you need is 1 owl hair in your account and boom! you can charge upto $1000+. And this is just the Japanese market, I haven't even touched the Vietnam and Chinese market. I'm stating this just to show the extensive amount of damage that TGC has caused with this concept of exclusivity that in the end 100s and 1000s of dollars are circulating WITHIN the players base instead of going towards TGC because of this stupid gatekeeping.
Instead of pumping IAP, there were more meaningful ways to make money. If i look at these market place and seriously consider selling my account for real, I can probably make up to $3,500, coz i also have the owl hair. If I really hated TGC, I would have just sold my account for all I care and leave. But it hurts me to see the direction in which this game is going and not at all accommodating to new players whatsoever. I want this game to flourish, NOT go downhill
I didn't play light awaits, but the heart system feels like a lie as well. There's this willful ignorance that hearts arent currency. They insist that they are meant to be *gifted* not traded. 🙄
Don't get me wrong, I still love the game for what it is, but stop trying to hide the obvious truth. Hearts are a currency so they can't be a gift. Who hands their friend $5 as a gift? If they want "stand out" players to stand out because of the strength of their friendships, then they could *start* by making giftable cosmetics and items that can ONLY be gifted. Eliminate the hearts as a middleman it's obvious.

Sky is my all-time favorite game, I have played it for about a year now and I play it every night with my friends. I couldn't imagine not having it as a beautiful space to hang out with friends. But I have to say the iaps are getting a little crazy and even in seasons you can't get much without an AP. It is becoming more about the cosmetics and less about the beautiful game and friends. I miss how it used to be 😞

been playing the game for 2 years. Quit the game in between, frustrated over the candle running job, trading hearts and expensive cosmetics. Now I am back to spend time with the few good friends i made, and not focusing over cosmetics. It has become much more easier to enjoy the time i spend in the game with my friend(s)

It's not like they actually care about you but over and over again they say, when with the time find out today but I really don t know and its about to snow but I just say hey, At least its not rain. And they act like they care but they all just stare at the thing they thought was you, but you stare at the snow and look at the glow of the sky that was bright and blue. But now you simply stare and the things that do not care and their hatred is looking at you. So you glare at the ones who do not need a stare but simply need a brighter blue.

Even I lost some friends and have no time for adventures all I do is grind everyday and when new things come out just buy and repeat the cycle
The things you buy may just be to flex or to look good on yourself but what good is it just to flex on other players that you meet for one minute
TGC will most likely not change this for a long time - the constant grind will continue, but if they don't change I dont see why the players would stay, especially the veterans

Ive purchased the cape is love the most with real money but nobody is telling you have to buy those to play and enjoy the game.
I may consider buying some more items with real money, but the prices are just too high imo.
If you are a collector and you HAVE TO buying everything, i wont blame TGC either for getting dat money.

I think I might take a break after season of flight is over, I bought the AP so I won’t waste my money by leaving mid-season, but I’m starting to feel burnout.
I re-downloaded the game in July and I had fun until I realised sky had become a lot more cosmetic focussed. I started doing full candle runs and not having any time to actually chill and talk to other players.
I felt joy in getting these cosmetics for a while but it’s started to drain me. Everything is so expensive! In order to get these cosmetics I have to grind for candles everyday and it’s getting boring. I wish they’d space the events out a little more and have more friend-focussed features.
I first downloaded sky around early 2019 and it was completely different. I was a moth at this point, but I still spoke to people and had fun. It doesn’t feel like that anymore.
TGC need to add some new permanent content other than candle grinding and item finding, veteran only wait for new events and season and had no new content to have fun.

Agreed. The skies were supposed to be clean, bright, and easy to breathe. But, after a while one notices the bitterness or the smog.
I've breathed so much of it before, so I sometimes will not be able to tell the difference between the clean and dirty. I have even fueled it, buying some products myself to support the developers. However, it is hard to not see from the edges, with or without a candle. It doesn't just affect us, it affects those on the ground. I just hope they look at its extent, before it's too much.

You can get unlimited adventure passes for friends, and I know some people who buy many aps and gift them to others. They are also working on an IAP gifting system in sky beta.

The game lack of fun feature to do with your friend other than interactive emote and flying around for a game boasting about social adventures is the highest and easiest red flag you can miss
Edit : Also when Non IAP stuff is considered “free” while it can cost 100 candles you know the community is blind as fuck
I'm a 1year old player of sky and also, I'm an f2p which is a good opportunity to quit since I spent nothing in the game. Yea, yes, I'm still playing sky just to candlerun on 2 realm and spending only few cosmetic since everyday I use the same cosmetic. From my view, sky is becoming more expensive day by day like, why would you spend a 19.99 dollar cape in game when you can spent a 5 dollar one irl???
I rather play cookie run kingdom which you don't have to repeat everything and it fun for me to mess up. Grinding coin and diamond are easier in the game cookie run kingdom then sky in my opinion.
I don't want to review sky in a negative way but this is my view on sky. Almost most people is all about COSMETIC instead a friendship. But I glad I found a few friend who is not into those stuff, they usually just hanging out after candle run in 2 realm or 3.

I always think I will miss something out if I don't buy this or that and at the end I regret that I bought the most expensive iap cosmetic and I wish I could get my money back and return it or atleast stop being greedy and give it to my special friend who would actually appreciate it more then me.

I know the reality before all of this, I realise the reality when I complete forest constellation and get forest elder hair I realise I waste my time my hard work for just a hair I feel so regret and pain after realise it. I forgot it's just a game for few time in my life I gone in the illusion this is for life time. I think TGC have to cheap cosmetic and also have to less cosmetic if not they do I think this game gonna to be big fall. And I observe one thing about one month every player come in the game and collect candle and exit the game they don't stay with friends and no sit anywhere to chat just like a race that's makes player alone that's why they leave this game. I don't know what to do if you have any suggestions please reply me Bye ❤️

It said here that sky is a game about friends and helping them,but there is barely anything to enjoy because of dry content. They could just add things other than candle running or buy iap that are too expensive for most of the playerbase, many players are even suggesting to add mini-games there are so many ideas out there you could take so the players can enjoy things more

Good knees the new system in sky beta is you can buy cosmetics for your friends should be coming in December for main game probably not going to be here in time for days of mischief now I don’t see you buying yourself cosmetics going away but now you can buy you AND your friends cosmetics a HUGE step in the right direction

I can.. And I'm Willing to spend money.. Only on stand out games like forza horizon, Gta5 etc. Bcoz spending on these games do mean one thing.. You get your money back (or at least a part of it) when you sell your account. But spending on underrated games like sky.. It's gonna be a real trouble afterwards
Friendship is a non-profit thing. Kindness is a non-profit thing. Love is a non-profit thing. These are not supposed to be about cosmetics, about how cool you look, about how many candles you have. these things aren't built through heart trade, nor through buying each other season pass. They are created through interactions, through the chat system, through spending time together. Just be honest, you cant make money off these things. Sky has a great idea, but is isn't an idea for a business and a company. Developing a game with the same ideal of friendship and kindness sky had at the beginning is something I would only do if I become a billionaire. Something that I would only do if I expect no revenue
I think it depends on you how you want to play the game. Do you want to play for cosmetics or do you want to just play with friends and while playing, do all the dailies?
If player wants, they can play sky with friends and enjoy it. Its no necessary to purchase every thing that sky developers bring with every season.
Also i think buying pass for friends is a way of thinking about both yourself and your friends.
And ofc, sky devs will extract money from players. Its no shock. And before their game has even released, they are obviously not going to say this out loud.
How about a day where's all Seasonal and event cosmetics blocked (ONLY FOR A DAY) and wax + candle , so it's not about the pretty good looking cosmetics anymore ,just base cosmetics and spend times with the others ?

Was this video before they added a feature that lets you buy iap and gift it to friends? I haven't been playing the game long so sometimes what is normal for me turns out to be a new thing for older players
Also, maybe the iap gifting is what they meant/planned...but to talk about "buying for friends, not for yourself" years early when it hadn't actually been implemented yet is odd
As much as I like the idea of hearts as gifts, like how people keep saying that its supposed to be gift so you cant ask for heart trade in the sky server, I admit that trading is usually how I get hearts from friends. Sure I sometimes send heart cause I enjoyed playing with them, or they send me heart but still. I send one back if they send me one, because in my head it is now something I need to pay back instead of simply accepting it as a gift. And I dont want to disappoint them if they expected me to send back.
Yeah I hope TGC doesnt get as aggressive like in other mobile games. Once I saw people saying TGC should put ads in the game and just- NO. They said they'll watch loads of ads to get- you guessed it, *cosmetics*.
I love this game, and I do love the cosmetics I got, and I felt some accomplishment when I get to buy a cosmetic I worked for, but I wish that they'd they a "break". A period of time where there are no new seasons. Just ts to give the moths a chance to get items from past seasons, and less of the Days of ----- events. Then they focus on fixing problems in the game, whether fixing glitches and/or thinking of ways to change the system to have it focus more in the friendship aspect. The new theater was a nice addition though, cause it gives a new way for players to interact. They should add more of things like that. I'm feeling hopeful.
There are too many cosmetics I just stick to the look that I like so most of the cosmetics don’t bother me I don’t need them. I find the emotes are becoming far too many

Each mini seasons there’s 1 to 3 in game currency cosmetics and about 4 real money ones.
Season of mischief has 3 in game currency cosmetics, one for 67 candles one for 99 candles, and one for 30 some hearts
While there are like, 10 cosmetics that can only be bought with real money. Ranging from $5 to $35 per cosmetic…. For hats and capes…

I think we should stop complaining and appreciating all the efforts of tgc and changes .. people are never satify .its a personal thing not a game problem.
I think anyone has the right to complain. Companies change when they know the opinion of their playerbase; they tend to stagnate when their players do nothing but compliment the game.
And a player shouldn't settle for less, if it's a game they love.
I think sky summer is offering invaluable advice to TGC. Salt or no, they are alienating their most loyal fans and that's not a good sign.

hm... i partly disagree with you. i love the fact that they give us free cosmetics spells so that people can wear cosmetics even though they dont purchase. and i also think that tgc does focus on new maps and new decorations for events, for instance, the upcoming winter feast.
Wouldn’t it be nice to earn capes and cosmetics as rewards for completing mini games and quests and not just with hearts and candles, and maybe gifting certain capes for friends?
