Hi to both of you from Thailand I remember Wallingford well in the late 70s spent a holiday there with my wife and two girls in a caravan in a barn I remember the stone bridge hired a rowing boat got chased by a large Dutch barge was a bit scary we are in our rainy season but still warm you can have warm shower outside love the video see you next time
Thanks Kevin. Yet to stop there but going to definitely give it a go on our return journey 👍 Jan's had a dip in the Thames and said it was warm, not as cold as you might think.
If you're going WITH the flow of the water, then you are headed downstream. If you're going AGAINST the flow of the water, then you're going upstream. :-) Lovely video xxx
We try and balance it out as best we can Christine. 🙏 We asked everyone their thoughts and the overwhelming view was music and natural sounds which is what we try and do.
You don't realise just how long the Thames is. Thanks for the info Ian.👍 Fancy having a pub called The Thames Head at the head of the Thames, who'd have thunk it! 🤣
Nice weather to be cruising down stream, just have to watch out for the hire boats @9:54 Seeing the wheel on the side of the lock control cabinet, reminded me of the times we came up rivers after lock keeper hours and had to wind that wheel. Have you tried asking other boaters to raft up on them if moorings are scarce. I did it many times and they turned out great with evening chats over a beer or three.
We used to be hire boaters so know their frustrations sometimes and help if we can. Rafted up most of the time we were travelling with @lifeonboardamyjo which helped with available moorings.
Thanks for taking us on a beautiful cruise along the Thames, it's fantastic but can be a challenge sometimes finding moorings and water points. It's great to see that you are both well and enjoying this great adventure. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Certianly does further down as you'll see most of the riverside properties are purposely built either on stilts or on higher ground. Think it was 2014 last time that Walton on Thames flooded.
Great video guys glad that you sorted out those kids..... and your heat wave over there looks nice and hot....as I live in Adelaide Australia , am so used to the heat... but all will be good enjoy it while you can as winter will be with you sooner than you think, we at the moment are experiences our coldest winter....
Wow, what a great video. The sights were fantastic. We hear (over in the US) that the Themes and other rivers are drying up due to the draught. Appears where you were at that that is not a problem. Hope you get rain soon. We hope we are done with the heat 90's Fahrenheit heat and looking forward to fall. Take care out there.
Thank you Sandi. Water levels are low, but not affecting us too much here although some of the canals are suffering 😢 Thunderstorms and rain forecast for the next couple of days so that should cool us down a bit!
Hey, if only we worked for the Tourist Industry 😉 We're honoured that so many of our viewers live around the World and get the opportunity to share in our lifestyle and of course the towns, cities, villages and countryside as we pass through ❤️
That very well known lady, boat parking expert Mrs Maude Upriver. The renowned mooring champion should be with you on all your trips as a guiding light!!!
To give you an idea of July and August temps in the USA, I'm on the east coast in Maryland and the average this summer is 31c. The west coast in Arizona is an average of 37c, with one day reaching 46c.
Hi Tony.....You will have worst thing's happen to you Crusing....Take my word for it..... you Always have to think for other boat users. Take care.xx
Thank you Sue. ❤️
Tony please put your pin around the right way.
The loop should be at the back 👍👍
Oops forgot. 🙄
Thanks for reminding me Alan 👍
Lovely views! Cant believe how big some of the houses are :O very posh!!
£££'s They get bigger the further down river you go! Couldn't even afford the boat houses! 😲
Recognised those posh houses in Pangbourne- drove past them on the way to Beale Park with family 😍
Millions of ££££ worth Julie, but then they are stunning 😍
some of those houses must cost a few million quid...nice to see upstream of the Thames for a change...some lovely places...and views...
Oh yes, lots of millions...! 💰

Cheers NotMarkKnopfler.
Jan has just learnt port and starboard as well 😄
Love it so much when no music

I enjoyed my time on the Thames and never had any problems mooring but that was back in 1987
I'm sure it wasn't this bad the last time we were here in 2010. We put it down to a lot more boats on the water and less mooring spots.
@@MakingNewMemories Could be that it is post lockdown fever.
The head of the Thames is up near Cirencester. Between Tetbury and Cirencester there is a pub there call the Thames Head.
You don't realise just how long the Thames is. Thanks for the info Ian.👍 Fancy having a pub called The Thames Head at the head of the Thames, who'd have thunk it! 🤣
Crazy Thames ! Something different to do. Jan,once a mum, always a mum. You did a great job. Enjoy your river cruise
Awwww thank you Jan. It can certainly get a bit "challenging" 😀
Nice weather to be cruising down stream, just have to watch out for the hire boats

Cheers Stevie, hope its bringing back some memories for you. 👍
Brilliant vlog x
Thank you so much Michele. ❤️
Lovely , relaxing vlog , and what beautiful riverside houses ,but does that part of the Thames flood?
Certianly does further down as you'll see most of the riverside properties are purposely built either on stilts or on higher ground.

Lovely cruise and yes bet it’s even hotter inside the boat. Next week it’s due to rain. Fingers crossed. Best wishes. Great vlog.
Just a few degrees cooler and it would be perfect! Can't wait for a bit of rain...👍
Loved that , the scenery is stunning but slightly worried you are being so spoilt that you will be bored once back on the canals.
Oh no Lynn, we still ❤️ the canals
Great vlog guys
Thank you Mr Harbourmaster 🙏 😊

Thanks Lyn. Forecast is for storms next week but still relatively high temperatures 🌡

Great vlog as always guys.....stay safe drink loads...( water) xxxxx
Thank you Lorraine ❤️ Yes, keeping hydrated. Occasionally there's a cool breeze when we're cruising which helps. 👍
Thank you for another relaxing vlog. Good luck with your travels. 😀
Thank you Busy Bee 🐝 💓
I have a sneaking suspicion that the whole point of your vlog is to get me to move your lovely country--your vid is so awesome!

We need someone Ginny, although I *think* we've cracked how it works! Ha! Only taken us a month 😄

Cheers Lee! 👍

Oh boy I feel your pain! I filmed out in Phoenix one time outside and it was 40 degrees!! 🥵 Desert heat is almost unbearable!
Great vlog, lovely scenery. You both make me 😊 smile. 💚
Awww thank you Sheila ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Have you had any trouble with low water levels? From the news reports, they make it sound like the place is becoming a desert!
Low levels all along the river, makes mooring up difficult or often impossible to get into the bank, especially as we're deep drafted.
Lots of closures on the canal. I'm on the South Oxford and came into the marina as I was scraping the bottom in a couple of places
Jan what on earth did the youngest want a lighter for.?
Kids these days tend to start smoking and drinking at an early age, although it was difficult to guess correctly how old they were.
Hi folks just wondered if you get your messages on Instagram? I sent a couple 🐝

I came along to see you in Henley I thought you’d be with AmyJo I had a jar of honey from my bees for you 🐝
