I follow Mark and Julie and it's "Weir On The Move". She's a fabulous artist and they are fun to watch. Love watching you two. My hubby and I had a 25 ft. pontoon boat and it sat above water about 3 feet. Had two of them for over 25 years on an inland lake. Great fun. Take care you two and keep cool.
Thanks for a lovely summer cruise along the Thames and I remember struggling for moorings, water and pump out points as it's not as well set up as the Broads. I hope that Jan is well and didn't hurt herself. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Thanks Stevie. 👍 Finding facilities that are working can be a challenge, but we've started to get the hang of it. Think the lack of bulk water is the main issue.
Oh wow we just finished cruising the Thames. We moored and slept in Henley for a night. Loved it there in Henley. How beautiful is the Thames compared to the canal
FWIW - Mapledurham (pronounced maple durham) ised to have the best bulk water hydrant on the Thames - BUT water regulations ( or EA's interpretation therof) state that integral / attached hoses are not allowed - so in a fit of pique EA have junked the lot and you're stuck with a dribble.... More "Tesco moorings" This used to be a small day hire boat mooring that 'ceased' Reading Council took it over and it was free for 24 hours, but 'continuous moorers' took it over and that's the state you saw it in. A shame we used it a lot. Blame those who don't give a jot and not the council...
Those anti flow back connectors that EA have fitted are a real pain. What would normally take 20 minutes now takes double that which can be a nightmare in the summer with boaters waiting. There's no signage at Tesco re moorings so it's very unclear how long/how much etc. There are certainly boats there that have been there a loooong time...(likewise the entrance to the K&A)
Rant on! Well deserved if people are there and not shopping. Like you said, moor, shop and move on. Oh no! What a way to end the video!!haha. Hope Jan is ok!
Hi Both. Can I start off with Janet, what happened at the end? Please don't say you fell in 😫😱 Floating house boat, do they need a CRT licence to move on the river. One doesn't want to run out of water on a hot day, even if you have to fill a couple containers. Cheese and pickle Mmmmm, nice little town. Lovely river Thames. Enjoy your journey, keep safe, keep cool and do what gives you joy. 💚

Don't think you can really compare the two as they both have their own character and features.
We're going to sit on the fence and say we like both! 👍

Yes anything that moves on the river needs a license of some sort.

She will explain what happened next week Michele. 👍
The post box on the wall is a prank. It's not real just a front of one. Put there by the Banksy of the post box world.
Shame. 😐
We were waiting ages for Postman Pat to come along and collect the post...

that was a weird boat that passed by....
House boat. Very common on the Thames but don't often see them moving as they're usually plumbed in wherever they're moored.
Tony, see you have a Tom Ingram T-shirt on, do you follow BTCC ?
Yes Trevor! I used to be a Track Marshal and marshaled for various race meetings at Snetterton, Brands Hatch and Silverstone.
