- This video shows you how to remove the stock intake from an Indian Scout and install the Thunder Works Dual intake. This is the only true cold air intake available for Scout. It can be installed on 2015-2017 Scouts. It can also be installed on 2018 and 2019 Scouts and Bobbers and Octane but requires different hardware and a little more work.

I have found that using a heat gun on the OEM air box makes it come off a LOT easier.
That is a cool looking modification for the bike.
What brand exhaust is on the bike ?

Looks like a great idea with a bad design! That raised tank reminds me of a freeking HD sportster which totally took away from the sleek Indian Scout Bobber design, It's a no go for me! but a like on the video.
How do this work when it rains. can you still ride? With out issues.

Theres no need to use a U-bend hose junction at all, so the tank mounting riser and instruments riser block are unnecessary. Use a 90 degree elbow hose junction and point that at the side extension T-junction. Just rotate the top of the T-Junction 90 degrees down so the top air hole points to the throttle body elbow hose. That simple.
Totally agree then you wouldn't have to raise the tank or bars but I believe its a u bend for better air flow using 90 bends would restrict airflow
I personally don't like the look of the tank elevated and as for the rear tank mount is concerned it just seems to me that it's not very well thought out.
if the filters were black, and the badges were either removed from the tank or adjusted to be level again it would look a lot better
2Lane Blacktop looks like a harley raised up like that, i personally like the lower profile look of indian
I could deal with raised bars, but raising the tank is a deal breaker on this bike. I feel like a part could be designed to eliminate the height of that u-bend hose, but maybe it’s that way for a reason. Good idea but not for me.
Could you recommend to me how to program the ECU on the bike after installing an intake like this one or other high flow intakes? What hardware do I need for the ECU programming and what other steps might be involved?
You can get a fuel controller. I have the Dobeck EJK and it works great out of the box for a bike with an intake and full exhaust.
@@fireinthewhole I got a Dynojet PV3. Hopefully this works for me. My bike has very little power and an odd rhythm while idling. It has Trask Slip-Ons and the Indian performance intake.
The PV3 comes pre programmed with a map akin to my current setup.
@@zeroneutral Hmm, an odd rhythm and a large power deficit is likely not from a fuel tuning issue.
I would check to make sure it is not misfiring from a bad plug, coil, or injector.

@@fireinthewhole I realize how my description sounds, but I don't think there are any physical problems with the engine aside from not getting enough power from the chemistry inside of the engine.
Will this work on the new 2022 Indian Scout Rogue. I checked the web site but doesn't seem update.
Just did my 22 scout, not bobber. Looks the exact same
The Rogue is the bobber with a diff seat, front wheel, handlebars, and quarter fairing…

Why doesn't somebody just design a side mounted air intake, or an adapter to use parts from the current intake, like a real V-Twin should have?

i thought music wise i was watching a disney flick,otherwise everything ok,more advanced than harley in evry aspect
I learned my lesson with external filters 🤣 my choppers rear cylinder got flooded with water over night when a big storm came threw when i was asleep ruined the engine no thank you
The Trask air cleaner makes this obsolete
I'm not happy with the fitment , I believe the U hose is a very bad meathod, raising the tank and such is really just not my preferred look/ build idea, I am going to use some 4 inch oval tube and see about caping the ends and laying it flat in the space where it can lay over the throttle body and T out to the sides. I would be interested to see how big of a difference it would make but I can guarantee a better fitment than this product. Indians are competitive with Harleys and this kind of work is not appropriate for these bikes
