Sometimes the bassist does some High Screams, it's very distinct. ABR is one of the legends of the game. Vocalist, guitarists and drummer (for me, top 3 on metalcore). All of those very complex and talented motherfuckers.. Also they are such sweethearts, met them on a show, super humble!
ABR is a Christian band, and this song is about those who abandon the immorality of the world (the ship) even though it will mean fighting against the waves. "Our armor tight to the skin, this shield it bears His name. We are strapped to the teeth, but our swords are lodged tightly in our throats." It shows how many people who call themselves Christians don't truly follow what Christ has called them to do and eventually slip back into the world system. "We have become what we have feared, being one with this world."
Being a Christian metal band, The songs has more of a theological meaning and depth. This is the lyrical focus of the band and it couldn’t be any more epic with this song.
Oh, Sleeper - Pulse Over Throne please! The raw emotion and imagery they put into their music is insane. Really I’d love to see many reactions to their stuff, but I’d love to see more reactions to their newest album.
I'm pretty sure this song is using these terms to portray that society are diving to the depths in terms of morality. That's how I take the lyrics personally. If you're looking for some more ABR stuff Barbarian is a pretty action packed song.

This song is a musical masterpiece . The beginning breakdown is in the time signature of 5/4 which I’ve never heard anyone do in metalcore ..
