John, please slow down and take your time.. you're building a really nice car, definitely going to be faster than what you have had. Its best if you get it done 100% and then go test it before heading out to some race... I'm sure you have spent more than you care to admit on this killer ride and going racing with it not being 100 is unacceptable for your safety and your competitors safety along with the spectators.. not to mention that if something was to go wrong it would be a major blow to your program.. I know you're wanting to make a lick asap but you can race later. You're just giving money away by showing up with a incomplete and untested car.
The people who are turned off by you putting a BBC in your racecar obviously doesn't race, anyone who is a blue collar racer knows that small and big block Chevys are much cheaper and easier to obtain when things break

Being a lifetime Ford/Mustang fan I was offended with any Chevy motor in a stang or f100/f1 20 years ago when it stalled to happen a lot, now I’m like at least it’s not an LS and chat up the small and big block cars
If you're worried about warping the flange you can bolt it up to the other side. Only thing is you need to swap the clamp nylock nut out or it might melt.
When you go above stock use after market parts its all just race motor chev.ford.olds.pontiac.dodge .my bbf just knows it's race motor triple value springs same as my buddy bbc 2.50 int.vaulves in heads same as hemi heads 😆 just race send it John your going to love the tourqe g force
