- Trailer Swing Tongue from Fulton was easy to install and did what we needed. We can now fit the boat trailer in the garage to keep it out of the weather and if you live in an HOA it is a great option. This installation will only take less than an hour if you are not creating a video to show how to do it.
If you have a boat that is 18 feet or less "depending on your garage", this is a great kit for you to convert your trailer. For cutting the tongue off the grinder I used is a great option and a budget-friendly price.

It would definitely have been a good idea to completely remove both sides of that swing assembly and apply a good anti-rust paint to both raw draw bar ends.
Yes that's a great ideal, did that not on camera a few months later. Jumped the gun on this project because we wanted more room in our garage.
Thank u 🙏
Your welcome, and yes it is 3 by 3.
@@ChrisDoesWhat This helped me out a lot thanks again
Please be careful using the grinder without its disk protective cover. I saw a patient lose 3 fingers a grinder disk broke into pieces.. work safely 👍🏻
Thank you for watching and you concern. This grinder does have the safety shield in place. We always try to be safe, but I have seen were safety gear has cause the issue, not prevented it, and these things have grabbed people's gloves and pulled their fingers in.
Chris Does What - DIY, Recipes, Reviews I’m sorry, I must have not had my glasses on. You’re right, you had yours on
That disc did not look like a cutting disc.
It ain't, did not have any left when I wanted to do this. My son used them all.
Great video man! Ordering mine now
Hope you enjoy it!
nice video Chris. gotta have yer bag of nuts for any project...lol!!!
No they sent me them nuts, I keep all my nuts in a nice tidy spot. Danielle asked, where is your bag of nuts in all your review videos? LOL
@@ChrisDoesWhat the squirrels took 'em😜
LOL
You should never use a grinding wheel to cut, there not made for that and can break, your also cutting at least a 1/4 inch of material out. Use a cut off wheel instead, there only a couple dollars and the make a cleaner cut. Good job though, i think im gonna need to do this to my trailer.
I rent or buy a portaband saw
Good video. Question: How did you relocate your safety chains behind your swing joint?
We didn't relocate the chains, no need to.
@@ChrisDoesWhat Good to know. All recommendations are saying to relocate behind the swing.
Back in the 80s when we were pulling the lowboy with hay on it there were no chains on the trailer. The change from more if you have a hitch problem or forget to latch the hitch the chains will keep the trailer from going off into traffic. I doubt the swing hitch would break with the size of Hardware has thousand pound boat.
