  • 20 years after the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, this talk takes a closer look at the justifications for US-led coalition wars fighting for human rights and against terrorism. Looking deeper into ‘just war’ theory, and whether it can be successfully applied to these contexts, this talk will conclude that it is impossible for countries to launch a 'just war'. Eloise is a student at Francis Holland School, Sloane Square, London. She plans on studying PPE at university, and then pursuing a career in broadcasting. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
