The closest championships happen when the best driver drives the second best car. See Schumacher fighting the superior Williams and McLarens in the second half of the nineties, when he first moved to Ferrari. Put Max in a Ferrari and F1 instantly becomes a competitive series.

Drivers like Max and Lewis etc seem to be at their most relaxed when they’ve got an easy teammate. Max wouldn’t get that at Merc.

Although people think about it being some noble quest to bring Ferrari back to the top, Michael Schumacher, in 1995, was also privately unhappy with how his reputation was being dragged through the mud with constant speculation and scrutiny of Benetton's performance that he wanted to move on, even though he felt that he could have won a third title in a row with Benetton in 1996 if he stayed
I think he won't go to Merc but he can join McLaren IMO. Max has a big ego. Soon people will say he is nothing without RB and he will try to prove them wrong
So are tge people who are really mad about the media suggesting Max will leave RB fans or Max fans? I don't understand why they are so mad. Why as an F1 fan would you be so emotional about a team principal that you would ignore their obvious mistakes? Do they think by asserting "he's done nothing wrong," that they can influence key business partners that say otherwise loudly and publicly?

In my opinion, he wouldn’t. It makes no sense.
1) It’s going to be George’s team now. Even if they don’t say it, it seems very likely they’d prioritise George as he’s been there longer. And he’s as good as Max. Or at least had the potential to be as good as Max.
2) Following on from that, George is a way tougher/faster driver than Checo. And I doubt Max would want a driver who’d match him every week.
3) Merc wouldn’t want their drivers costing each other, and by extension Mercedes, points in the championships.
And 4) Red Bull are winning, Mercedes aren’t. It makes no sense.
The only reason is 2026 with the new engine regs i mean he could be battling in the midfield with red bull
Yeah Russell is as fast as Max... What are you smoking? He might occasionally be as fast but not over a season. He's not as good at tyre wear, he's not as efficient as Max and he makes 5 or maybe even ten times as many mistakes (as Max makes none basically). If they sign Max he will be first driver (40million a year) and the headline star. Do you really believe they would favour Russell based on that? Favour a non-wdc over a 4 time WDC? Talk about ruining the pr value..

why in the f would max move to an inferior team? with tredbull he has the mechanics, tp, gp, and adrian that help him with his success. only a fool would leave such a solid team like that.
