- ▶︎▶︎ Lewis Hamilton’s 2024 season has gone off to the worst possible start, as he is yet to finish in the Top 5 and had to ‘swallow’ his dignity in Japan to let his teammate pass in the very early stages of the race. The statements coming from the 7-time world champion are not encouraging either, with Mercedes bringing a brand-new basis to work on and while the team acknowledged it's a lot more stable to bring upgrades on, so far we’ve seen nothing of it. But the real question is has Hamilton already given up on helping his team in the last year of their contractual obligations, and more importantly, will this cost Mercedes a lot for the upcoming campaign as well?

Hamilton had damage which is why he let Russell through? It was quite common knowledge 😂 and to the people saying Hamilton is bad are totally wrong, he is just helping test things with Mercedes to help them gather data and they know he is good enough to do that and finish in an okay position

Honestly I don't care that it's the business of Formula 1, but Lewis didn't have to do it this way. He could have announced halfway or towards the end of the season. Or ideally in the offseason he was making a move. Instead we must go through this season long charade of him leaving as he complains over the car each race (valid or no).
I don't think it was his or Ferrari's plan to announce it this early, the news got leaked
Russel having more points is a non conversation. Hamilton let him through at Suzuka and has been the main character in having sensors on the car during free practices. Hamilton doing more for development than Russel by a mile.
He's really gonna be unhappy at Scuderia ! He has to have a perfect car .
Not necessarily a perfect car. He said multiple times all he wanted was the possibility to fight for podiums. He has a winning mindset. He won’t settle for a subpar car. He wants to be competitive.
Lewis will be motivated like never when he jumps in Ferarri. Merc did big mistake when they listened George more and build car that suits his style. Hope that Talian horsie will work better than Merc for Lewis.

What a crap take. Hamilton is just not that good. You do your best to blame his team, but he keeps being beaten by his team-mate in the same car. Hamilton is past his use by date, and has been shown to be a good driver who benefited from having the best car for many years running.
So it’s not the fact that Lewis is the lab rat of merc for the past two seasons and this one as well cuz he is testing setups and Russel isn’t
