This is the simplest way I have seen to make this kind of makeup bag. I have seen others and they make them more complicated than necessary. Thank you. I love the bag!
Love it! Super easy to make in half an hour, and super pretty! Know what I’ll make my friends and family for Christmas this year! Thanks for the nice and clear tutorial!
She did a corner stitch...you can find on other diy’s, basically make a triangle at each corner matching the middle seem and sew across the corner 1 1/2 inches ...hope this helps 😉
You’ve got to be kidding me. It doesn’t get any easier then this! “Liked and subscribed”! I just looked again and you forgot to tell people to be sure to open up the bag before you close up both sides. Or you will never get open lol
My sewing machine is a Brother and I've had it for 5 years. I think it's time for an upgrade but I love it to death! The serger I have is a Singer and I've had it for 4 years. I'm not sure if it's just me or the machine, but the only issue I have is when I change the thread it takes me like 5 times to actually thread it without breaking. I hope this helped a little
My kids bought me a Brother Project Runway sewing machine and I love it! I had never sewn on a machine before and didnt open the box for two years LOL. Now I've had the machine out for about two months and I have learned so much and have so much fun with it that all I want to do is sew and make things. Thank you for this tutorial.
Hello, I sent u request about this video. Thank you so much for bringing this back. The first time I watched this I felt something beautiful about sewing. It gave the desire to sew one day. Thank you and Godbless you.
So pretty! I just wish you would go into more detail about the end part, where you gave the pencil case more "depth". I still do not understand how you made the pencil case so boxy. Help?
Great bag! I take medican daily and have pill organizers I have a bag now but yours is so cool!I like it very much. The big metal zipper is a very nice style accent I haven't seen anybody else's have the metal part to it. It's very style conscious. I might go to your site and buy one but making one seems like a lot of fun, a nice project to do for those of us that like to create things.Thank youBonnie
countrybunkin 1974 you can do it with two pieces. you would get another line of stitching at the bottom of the bag though (which in my opinion doesn't make it as nice, but you do you) you might want to do a basting stitch for the lining and outer piece, if you choose to do this method. just to help make everything easier and not move around
Hi and thanks for responding, but I really want to use one piece. I actually purchased a zipper pouch that is so nice, it uses one piece for the outer fabric and one piece for the lining, saves lots of time I'm sure and it looks so good. I can't figure it out and have show it to several other people, including two professionals and none of us can figure it out....btw, it does have topstitching on both sides of the zipper. I cannot find a video showing how to topstitch both sides using the one piece method.
countrybunkin 1974 Oh woah i was reading your question wrong. open the zipper, start sewing at the opened side, try to get as close to the zip and then close the zipper a bit, maneuver the last few inches of the bottom of the bag in a way so it doest catch the fabric (whatever it takes), and sew it closed. it will take time and patience. i suggest making a test piece first or even hand stitching it.
I get orders here and there. Nothing consistent though. I've only marketed them on youtube in this video so far and everyone wants to make their own instead 😊
Thank you! This fabric I actually got from Mood online! Usually I just get fabric on like fabric.com or even etsy :) There aren't many local fabric shops where I live.
Very nice, but please make sure to balance the sound level between the music and your voice which the music is way too high and your voice can hardly be heard. Thank you.

I love this simple and easy but very nice bag thank you for sharing!
If the fabric pieces are 10 x 14 is your pattern 5 x 7? It looks larger but it looks like you're placing it on the fold.
I wish the harder steps would have been included in the video instead of just seeing the end product of each step.
This is such a cool tutorial! I'm definitely gonna give it a go! x
+lovely rose petal Thank you, I love your "snippet" videos totally just subbed ^-^
+Thaidyed Falicia Awww perfect. Thank you so much :)
when you fold the corners , the video is too dark to see what you're doing :(
Right

I rally wish you could show how you topstitched the second half of the bag, as it seems hard because of the zipper pull.
Beautiful!!!!!! I truly appreciate your video, very simple to make!!!! I'll be making a few of these for just because gifts!!!
love this thank you so much! I used regular cotton and just put interfacing on both sides and it works great
Gave it a go! I have an excellent homemade makeup bag. Really great tutorial
this is the easiest way I've seen for a box pouch. thank you!

Hello, i want to get into sewing more. i was just wondering what brand/type do you suggest to get as a sewing machine and serger?
My sewing machine is a Brother and I've had it for 5 years. I think it's time for an upgrade but I love it to death! The serger I have is a Singer and I've had it for 4 years. ayet pandy Dylan Mierzwinski It was tricky but I left the zipper open and manipulated the fabric to lay flat!
Thank you *****

Recently started to teach myself to sew and can't wait to try it out your tutorial. You make it look easy! Love the music. What's the song/band name?

What type of interfacing are you using? Thanks!
The brand is called Pellon. It's fusible and it is rather thick. I'm not sure the exact type of Pellon interfacing I used though sorry!
the Pellon interfacing is heavyweight fusible. i believe the product number is F71
You did not explain how difficult it will be to top stitch the other side
I was wondering the same thing I think it would be easier if you cut two pieces instead of just the one solid piece
Did you ever get any suggestions on doing this using the one piece fabric as shown?
countrybunkin 1974 you can do it with two pieces. you would get another line of stitching at the bottom of the bag though (which in my opinion doesn't make it as nice, but you do you) you might want to do a basting stitch for the lining and outer piece, if you choose to do this method. just to help make everything easier and not move around
