You may be able to take out the ribbon, soak it in fountain pen ink and let it dry a little so it's not soaked in ink.
How about typing with a sheet of carbon paper? Not the most elegant solution but it should work alright. Great video by the way!! Always love seeing more about these rather unusual typewriters.

I can’t say I share your enthusiasm for Barbie typewriters, but is still very engaging to hear you talk about them. I wonder where this will go from here? Who knows!! Maybe a simple-green pink “Barbie” edition nail polish collab??

In my "intro to programming" university course, I have my students write a simple encoding/decoding application.
I will have to look up the algorithm for the Barbie typewriter, so my students can create a "virtual" Barbie typewriter encryption emulator (haha).

the E115/E116 designator on back in the plastic for electronics usualy means the case is used for both models, as in can be a 115 or a 116, and they would just put what ever internals they needed and make the labeling based on that model
im interested in that meheno Digit model in the images, it has a screen and also a return arm, and i like how it looks similar to older computers like the atari 400
