Vince is always so humble in his responses, giving credit to the writers, sfx people, ect...
I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the reasons he was able to lead such a successful show
+IS DA VOG American Graffiti.
Dude ! what a coment ! yeahhh I agree 100% with everything you said ! and yes this is not the first time Vince mentions everyone that surround him :)
All the greatest people are humble. And I’m not talking that fake platitudes patronizing crap. I mean GENUINELY humble. Not to be confused with lacking confidence. Those who have healthy confidence (not talking those with narcissistic tendencies) are the only people who actually are humble. Because they don’t need egotistical bravado to cover up insecurity, and they are confident enough to let others shine they’re brightest without feeling threatened. They let the excellence of their work speak for itself, and innately know that their work is only as great as those they work shoulder to shoulder with, and if they’re appreciating them and treating them and others like they would want to be treated, everyone is much more likely to work as hard as you do. In Vince’s case, he should be the most humble person on earth judging by the quality of his and his team’s work 😂
This is how every creator should be, it's just being honest. He understands that without all of those people, the show would not exist, it would just be another story he wrote
I would have never thought of Adam Savage as an interviewer but this was honestly one of the best Vince Gilligan interviews I've seen. Great questions.
Agreed. Watched the whole thing. Was rather good.
It is the best interview about BB that I have ever seen. I was laughing or bawling all the time
Agreed. Learnt more about (what I desperately wanted to hear from) Gilligan's thought process than most interviews.
The best Vince interview imo
One of the better interviews I've seen with Vince Gilligan. Adam's enthusiasm for Breaking Bad really curated some deeper conversation into even the minute (yet conscious) details of the show.
Hands-down the best interview I've seen with Vince Gilligan. Just a great combination of genuine interest and great dialogue, and an interviewer who actually knows about Breaking Bad.
This is probably the best interview I've seen with Gilligan. It helps that Adam really understands the show. Hearing Gilligan's insights into the writing process is inspiring even for someone like myself who doesn't write. He's definitely passionate about what he does.
I can't think of two people I would rather see in an interview together, this was amazing!
I KNOW, right!
They talk well of their experiences - any experience. They're both the same age. Vince is 5 months older.
@8:26 The moment Walter White goes from anger and panic to rolling on the ground laughing in hysterics was one of the most spine-chilling scenes I've ever seen in television
Hands down the best Vince Gillian interview. Wasn't phony or played up on Adam's part...justba genuine passion for the show and a curiosity towards the minds behind it!
This has to be one of the best interview I ever seen :O
Right!? :D
Ikr
Hands down best Vince Gilligan interview I've seen. The questions were very insightful...Great job Adam... your a freaking Savage!
You know that you really miss a show when you feel the need to watch an hour long interview about it and you still have the void....
I'd say you know that you love a show when you feel that
If a hour goes by quickly then you know it was a good interview
It's wonderful to see two men who I both deeply admire for their work and passions and see them just have a conversation like a couple of regular guys. I love how Adam is so enamored by the philosophy and history of the show....asking the same questions I would. I started this, thinking I'd flip to another video....watched the whole thing. Can't wait for Vince's next work
it's funny how Mark Margolis(Hector) played in Scarface, even though there's a scene in the show where Walt and Walt Jr are watching the movie Scarface.
like in avengers Tony calls Thor "Big Lebowski" even though Jeff Bridges who played the Dude also played Tony's partner in the first Iron Man
Not only Margolis but also Steven Bauer (Don Eladio) who had an even bigger role than Margolis in Scarface.
Fantastic interview. Excellent line of questioning from Adam. Will be watching more of the Talking Room for sure
The best Vince Gilligan interview. Excellent questions and observations. And of course excellent answers as well.
Adam does a great interview.
Adam, you asked some of the questions I've been dying to ask! I'm sure I speak for many others too on that point
This is by far the BEST interview I have seen yet. The excitement from both Adam and Vince was just so palpable. It's like they were eager to talk to each other because they are clearly fans of each other and good friends to boot.
One of the better interviews of Vince about BB I've seen. Well Done both of you!
Adam is so relaxed and natural in his interviewing. I think he is one of the best right now.
Easily one of the best videos I've watched in recent memory- this was a true joy to watch and listen to. Thank you!
Fantastic, Fantastic interview Adam. Bravo.
Great job Adam, you are a great interviewer. Such a revealing interview.
Totally awesome, I was seriously on the edge of my seat every sec of this interview. :-)
Apparently, Adam is not only a great interviewee, he also is a great interviewer... Keep these coming, please.
Interviews with deep conversations about the show rather than the actors explaining the character they play as if I didn't watch the show? Hell yeah
Amazing interview Adam!!! So relaxed and natural!!! Best ever!!
Greatest interview ever! Omg the questions are soo intriguing and unique. Just perfect.
This was great :) the best episode of the Talking Room for me. Thanks a lot :D
Amazing interview. I think Adam Savage is a genius and watching him interview another genius like Vince just gives me so much joy.
Great interview. Adam did the best interview I have seen with Vince.
Oh wow, an hour with my two of my favorite people!
I literally finished watching the last episode about 20 minutes ago. I am bereft. Having been ill with massive flu the past two weeks, I watched Breaking Bad in its entirety in just under a fortnight. It is the greatest TV show ever made in my opinion. I can not wait to watch this interview. Breaking Bad the show might be over for me, but talking about it is a whole other adventure. Press play. :)
that's a 4-years-later comment, I know, but hey, this is such a good interview, I felt like saying how great it is, how I like the way Adam's leading it just the right questions, the right timing, and, of course, Vince is a great guy and a great show runner! Thanks!
Real great interview. I appreciate Adam's relative distance from the world of screenwriting and film production... he ends up teasing out so many details that would be taken for granted by a writer or actor or even film/TV critic.
Dean Norris has layers like an ogre.

Probably the most enjoyable interview to watch ever! Thanks so much for posting this guys.
This is super awesome content. Tested is killing it lately.
I watched every minute of this, and enjoyed it entirely!
Kudos on Winston in the background in his custom box that works so great as a display too. Is that Heisenberg's hat on top of the case too? Too good.
Adam Savage an Vince Gilligan for an hour! I love you youtube!
one of the best Vince Gilligan's interview!!
Love it, its not often I can watch something with my full attention and these always grab it
This was a great interview, no questions really. It feels like a conversation, really good! thumbs up!
A legend interviewing another one, best interview ever, an hour of it wasn't enough time
Two great individuals.! Excellent interview!!
These two guys are so great. I bow before Vince as a creator and Adam as a creator and as an interviewer. This is by far the most interesting interview with Vince I've seen. And I've seen A LOT.
MrTridac pull your nose out of their ass
This is the interview, I never knew was coming, that I've been waiting for!
Adam FUCKING Savage interviewing Vince FUCKING Gilligan? This is the best interview combination in history
+tankmaster1018 yup
Thanks to everyone at Tested for producing such great content so regularly. Great channel!
The final scene from Crawl Space is one of my favorites from the show.
+Silver Liberty Me too. I remember just being filled with so much dread watching that scene and thinking afterwards how superbly-crafted it was.
What a great interview. I had no idea Adam Savage was such a great interviewer. I definitely want to watch more of The Talking Room.
Best gilligan interview and ive seen pretty much all of them. Great questions. VG just seems like such a genuinely nice guy. Would be a real treat to work with him or have him as a friend. Welcome to come to our house
Amazing interview, Adam. And now after all this years, THANKS Vince and Peter for creating BrBad, El Camino and BCS, what a beautiful world we get into for all these years. ❤️
Great questions, Adam! Really well interviewed.
Thanks Adam! Thanks Tested! Thanks Vince! Thanks BB crew & cast! Great series and a great interview:-)
Amazing interview.
This was great! Thanks for providing it!
Obviously, Vince is a PHENOMENAL writer and director but I think what really makes him a great showrunner is his ability as a leader and manager.
He knows who to hire, how to cultivate a close knit crew and create a culture where people can be creative and play to their strengths.
When you look at the later seasons of Breaking Bad and even all through Better Call Saul some of the writers and directors are people that started as assistants in the beginning of Breaking Bad. They promote from within.
The guy is a great, sweet guy and a creative genuis and a tremendous leader.
I've watched every Talking Room so far and I hope that Adam can find the time to do more of them
i dance in the moonlight with it sometimes
Great interview! Always refreshing to listen to a couple of smart guys talk about subject matter they are passionate about. Cheers!
This is delightful. Can't believe I never saw it.
He is very humble. Absolutely amazing...
I like seeing another dude that is a really really fan of breaking bad, just like me
One of the best interviews Ive seen in a while! :)
Thanks for the interview chaps!
A genius creative force and yet one of the nicest human beings you can meet.
First line out of his mouth, and I instantly like the guy.
I want another hour :-D
Best interview ever . great questions and enthusiasm. I love the show .
Thank you Adam, and thank you Vince.... Brillant!
I just have to say between this and the podcasts Tested is by far my favourite youtube channel now
This is really great. Thank you!
One of the best interviews ive ever seen
It's nice when the interviewer actually knows the show and what the hell they are talking about, as opposed to the brainless fuckwits who ask silly questions that no one cares to know.
Much agreed
Great interview Adam!
Can't wait to see him on community
Excellent, enjoyed so much!
This was such a great interview.
What an excellent interview
Fascinating to hear him talking about Better Call Saul now that it finally finished almost 10 years later :(
BTW awesome video, watched the whole thing without skipping. Thank you for uploading sir!
"you know the ending" - yeah, with D&D had it the same way.
Thanks so much for this, it reminded me just how much I loved BB and makes me want to watch it all again right away ! Great stuff !
Can't wait for 'Better Call Saul', that sounds like fun !
I want BCS to do well but I’m afraid that it will end up being a victim of its predecessor's success. Its not gonna have time to catch on like BB did. People are gonna expect a smash hit right away
starbuck4774
Saul was a great character, I can imagine a lot of stories revolving round him, it would be really interesting to see what the writers come up with. Sure it will need to find it's feet and it would be in a different vein to BB but with a little help, I can see it having a pretty good chance of success.
When I heard a rumour that there was going to be a spinoff from BB I was excited but also a bit upset. That story had ended, any attempt to resurrect the main characters or story would be very disappointing but 'Better Call Saul' is an excellent idea !
Just wanted to look up what's tested up to now. And i end up watching the entire interview. Really great interview nice job. :)
I really could not have a deeper respect for this man.
Anyone else love the way Vince pronounces the word baby? This is my favorite Talking Room episode so far.
Vince's opening metaphor was not at all what I expected him to open with
So very eloquent
.
10:42 "Skinny P was actually an accomplished penis"
I know he meant pianist but it sounds entirely like he said penis.
Re: the silent moments in Breaking Bad, used to convey emotion in the viewer as well as making you ponder abt what's going on in the character's mind. People like Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis could learn something from this, who, imo, ruin their dramas by literalizing emotional scenes with lots of hugging and crying, and using dialogue to explain to what must be a stupid audience that needs explanation and exposition to clarify what the characters are feeling. This dumbing down is why I've never been able to sit thru Steven Spielberg's straight dramas. Usually. Breaking Bad was refreshing in SO many ways. I'm always grateful when something intelligent actually makes it to a screen.
I had a scuffle with an older housemate when I was about the same age as Jesse. That scene was real man.
Amazing interview great job Adam
2020... Better Call Saul is another master piece. What an awesome and talented team
Save to MP3 --> Copy to phone --> Best podcast ever.
Great interview! Very informative and inspiring.
Watching this Post BCS Ending. Gonna meet up with Gilligan, Gould and Schnauz to discuss Better Call Saul? That would be stellar!
Very cool that he's a southerner!
Nice to see the From The Earth To The Moon reference, that's when I, over here in the UK, first saw him and thought 'great actor'. For those who studied the Apollo story, he was a very convincing Buzz Aldrin.
We need for sure a new Talking Room with Vince and Peter talking about Better Call Saul. Please do it!
