Vince is always so humble in his responses, giving credit to the writers, sfx people, ect...

I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the reasons he was able to lead such a successful show

All the greatest people are humble. And I’m not talking that fake platitudes patronizing crap. I mean GENUINELY humble. Not to be confused with lacking confidence. Those who have healthy confidence (not talking those with narcissistic tendencies) are the only people who actually are humble. Because they don’t need egotistical bravado to cover up insecurity, and they are confident enough to let others shine they’re brightest without feeling threatened. They let the excellence of their work speak for itself, and innately know that their work is only as great as those they work shoulder to shoulder with, and if they’re appreciating them and treating them and others like they would want to be treated, everyone is much more likely to work as hard as you do. In Vince’s case, he should be the most humble person on earth judging by the quality of his and his team’s work 😂

This is how every creator should be, it's just being honest. He understands that without all of those people, the show would not exist, it would just be another story he wrote

This is probably the best interview I've seen with Gilligan. It helps that Adam really understands the show. Hearing Gilligan's insights into the writing process is inspiring even for someone like myself who doesn't write. He's definitely passionate about what he does.

Having been ill with massive flu the past two weeks, I watched Breaking Bad in its entirety in just under a fortnight. It is the greatest TV show ever made in my opinion. Obviously, Vince is a PHENOMENAL writer and director but I think what really makes him a great showrunner is his ability as a leader and manager.
He knows who to hire, how to cultivate a close knit crew and create a culture where people can be creative and play to their strengths.
When you look at the later seasons of Breaking Bad and even all through Better Call Saul some of the writers and directors are people that started as assistants in the beginning of Breaking Bad. They promote from within.
The guy is a great, sweet guy and a creative genuis and a tremendous leader.

Saul was a great character, I can imagine a lot of stories revolving round him, it would be really interesting to see what the writers come up with. Sure it will need to find it's feet and it would be in a different vein to BB but with a little help, I can see it having a pretty good chance of success.
When I heard a rumour that there was going to be a spinoff from BB I was excited but also a bit upset. That story had ended, any attempt to resurrect the main characters or story would be very disappointing but 'Better Call Saul' is an excellent idea !

Re: the silent moments in Breaking Bad, used to convey emotion in the viewer as well as making you ponder abt what's going on in the character's mind. People like Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis could learn something from this, who, imo, ruin their dramas by literalizing emotional scenes with lots of hugging and crying, and using dialogue to explain to what must be a stupid audience that needs explanation and exposition to clarify what the characters are feeling. This dumbing down is why I've never been able to sit thru Steven Spielberg's straight dramas. Usually. Breaking Bad was refreshing in SO many ways. I'm always grateful when something intelligent actually makes it to a screen.
