It's incredible the consistency of this man's (and bands) music has been since the start. They always find away to stay true to themselves and their vision all the while not sacrificing quality. One of the most underrated artists of the last 20 years.
@@jordanbomb32 I mean, I guess so. But to me the terms are kinda interchangeable. Critics can think highly of their music but if they aren't popular with general public then I think underrated is still an acceptable term. But I understand your point
Andy's writing (and this performance) help prove the fact a good song can always be boiled down to it's essense: a single instrument and single voice. Beautiful.
In think it also shows the incredible opposite skill of sitting a writing this on your own and then bringing the elements of the band in for the big sound, mad skills, beautiful and always appreciated.
Lol. So we were sitting here watching this show today just to relive the moment, and I turn to my wife and say “I wonder how many people commented about you being in the frame the whole show.” Thank you for not disappointing with this comment. Great duo for sure!
Ive seen hundreds of concerts and this guy loses himself in the music more than most. Saw them live recently and he was remarkably dedicated to the performance - truly one of the most intimate concert experiences.
In the beginning he couldn't get through some of these songs without crying. Ive always wondered being someone who plays how some can get through meaningful songs without crying. And the answer came through one of their documentaries. I didn't know I knew. Repetition...As always.
I saw them in Portland in the everything time nothing era. and they were awful. he seemed soooo depressed and did not wanna be there. then I saw them in SF two years ago and it was absolutely beautiful.
I like this version of Bedhead. Acoustic calm, but not fully subdued. Million Masks has been a daily player for me while I work since its release! An amazing album. Crisp sound on this recording. Nice job, Criminal Records!
The other day I was at my brother's house and my 7 yo niece came through the front door singing Bed Head, I was so proud, I listen to them around her, but I didn't know she actually liked them
I don’t really consider myself an emotional person. But man. Andy’s work is enough to make me tear up. Raw and beautiful. Just like how music should be.
I have listened to band’s groups for 40 years and in my opinion this man and band is probably the best band on the planet . The lyrics and tone of the voice is absolutely stunning . Hopefully it will continue .❤
I am tempted to open a record store just so I can invite Andy to perform for my customers! We have tickets to see Manchester Orchestra in Las Vegas next weekend and are really looking forward to it.
My biggest regret in life so far is being in high school in the area when Manchester Orchestra was starting out, and not knowing about it. I love this band. Their music is my favorite.
79 million views would even be criminal for something of this calibre, never mind 79 000. This is so beautiful the universe should just give up and realise when it’s been beat.
Such a soft voice from a bearded man. He is blessed. I can shred a guitar but I don't have the voice. But this man has soul touching power. Way better than that rich man North of Richmond guy that went on Rogan. That guy got so much attention when he lacks real talent.
Jason you're amazing ;) thank you for the world :')) I don't understand all that Andy says but i can feel it deep down my bones and it feels real good !
Sou apaixonada pela forma que este cara canta e quando ele muda o tom me emociono, ah sem falar o baterista quantos talentos juntos parabéns a todos, amoooooo
What an incredible, moving performance. I can't tell, Is he playing drop d for all these songs? Edited to Add: NVM I just rewinded. I noticed he was playing drop D for Shake It Out but didn't notice that he changed the tuning while he was talking
Being an empath is both a blessing and a curse, but if you can let them be who they chose to be, that is the lesson.... Love( God) honors our freedom....❤
Omg I wish I was there !!!! If I had millions it would be invested in a real artist!,..this video is so bizarre because everyone is Quite!! I can't believe it and girl blonde hair on the right is wet just saying
Sou eternamente grata por ter conhecido vcs, sua voz é maravilhosa, banda perfeita, expecialmentea a bateria e estas mudanças de voz é perfeita, me emociona
Can we all just agree that Andy Hull is a lyrical genius who can arrange words in a way that’s just simply mind blowing 🤯
"YES"
And homeschooled at that
100 fucking %
We can.😊

couldn't agree more
Not quite but almost 20 years they formed in 2004 but incredible yes.
Do you mean underappreciated? Their albums are highly rated.
@@jordanbomb32 I mean, I guess so. But to me the terms are kinda interchangeable. Critics can think highly of their music but if they aren't popular with general public then I think underrated is still an acceptable term. But I understand your point
Some of general public types took longer to discover them is all.. me, found them back in Sept
If i had one hour left to live, all i want is this setlist at a campfire with my friends, family and a few beers.
Fuckin eh... I felt that... I can't argue with that.
Nice call I love it! Even better would be to do that this weekend (just remove the one hour left to live)
chills
Meet you there
Can I join you for that last hour ? I'll bring the beers .
0:01 The Maze
2:29 The Gold
7:53 The Alien
12:40 Bed Head
18:41 Telepath
21:53 Let it storm
26:36 Angel of Death
33:53 I can barely breathe
39:29 Cope
42:11 The river
45:08 Shake it out
You're the real MVP.
Thank you!
Thank you🤘

I'm so jealous of the people who got to experience this live.
Next year 01-10-22 i am one of 500 who will see them in Paradiso Amsterdam. Incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@rickischill I didn't manage to be in time for Paradiso tickets. And guess what, a friend bought me 2 tickets as a birthday gift. Just speechless!
@@mvn17997 I hope you took your friend with the second ticket
Soooooo friggin jelly
Andy Hull and that girl's shoulder. Name a better duo.
Lol. So we were sitting here watching this show today just to relive the moment, and I turn to my wife and say “I wonder how many people commented about you being in the frame the whole show.” Thank you for not disappointing with this comment. Great duo for sure!
She also wanted me to comment and say “thank you, I got a good kick out of that!”
So talented. He don’t need much. Only his voice and a guitar. ❤️
talent shows when you can do a live show just as good or better than their recording
Most bands spend their entire career chasing the brilliance of their early records. Manchester Orchestra just seems to get better.
I saw them live for the first time too. It was the most incredible thing I’ve ever experienced musically. Truly, it was different.
I saw them in Portland in the everything time nothing era. and they were awful. he seemed soooo depressed and did not wanna be there. then I saw them in SF two years ago and it was absolutely beautiful.
Andy Hull is such a brilliant man
You feel pretty stupid when you realize you've been repeating for years "there's no more good music today" and then you crash into this.
Exactly
Nothing makes me happier than loving Manchester Orchestra and knowing this man is now on the cover of Men's Health magazine.. good on him.
Fews things give me peace.........this does, thank you.
Wow...some of the best lyrics and voice l have ever heard and the guitar playing is amazing....❤
Andy speaks to all of my melancholic soul!. My prime emotional support.
As a folk artist he is carrying the mantle, and doing it so well.
I like this version of Bedhead. Acoustic calm, but not fully subdued. Million Masks has been a daily player for me while I work since its release! An amazing album. Crisp sound on this recording. Nice job, Criminal Records!
Yeah, Bed Head hits hard here. Better than the album version, I think.
this version of "Angel of Death" is sending me
I wasn't planning on crying a few times today, but that's how it goes sometimes. Can't wait to see MO again in Colorado.
Thank you so much for this recording, so raw it's almost painful; so beautiful at the same time. Andy's vocal range (eg. 43:40) is mind-blowing.
The other day I was at my brother's house and my 7 yo niece came through the front door singing Bed Head, I was so proud, I listen to them around her, but I didn't know she actually liked them
Is this DUDE ReAl? I try to hold back my emotions but it almost IMPOSIBLE!
It's like each song is made to open you up for tears, it seems to pull from the deepest darkest places but leaves you exhilarated.
I don’t really consider myself an emotional person. But man. Andy’s work is enough to make me tear up. Raw and beautiful. Just like how music should be.
Andy Hull amazes me!!!🎵🎵🎵what a gift!
I can’t even with this guy…the talent is unmatched.
He is hands down one of the best singer/songwriters that we've ever known.
I have listened to band’s groups for 40 years and in my opinion this man and band is probably the best band on the planet . The lyrics and tone of the voice is absolutely stunning . Hopefully it will continue .❤
40 years? They definitely haven’t been around for that long, but I like where your head is at. Lol
@@kelseeymaxwell I think he meant he's been listening to band music for 40 years;) I had to read it twice to get that haha
This is so good 😊.. I’ve listened to your music throughout the contrast of my life and always come out better off 🤙🏽
please come to Australia soon 🇦🇺
I am tempted to open a record store just so I can invite Andy to perform for my customers! We have tickets to see Manchester Orchestra in Las Vegas next weekend and are really looking forward to it.
Mad kudos to the person recording this. I salute you
An absolute hero in my book!
My biggest regret in life so far is being in high school in the area when Manchester Orchestra was starting out, and not knowing about it. I love this band. Their music is my favorite.
We used to jam in Grayson in early 2000s I feel your pain.
You are a gentleman and a scholar!
I legit need a smoke break after every song. 🖤
I am with you there, it feels like you need some space to absorb and process each song. The guy's a genius.
The voice of the heavens... ✝️❤🛐
Waking up to the sound of your music, singing with you, haxing a coffee and a cigarette....this gonna be the best day of my life❤ thx
Jason- Thank you for sharing! Not many would be able to experience this fine art in this setting... again thanks for sharing with us.
That one Sperg that goes round disliking every manchester orchestra/Andy Hull video is at it again 🙄
79 million views would even be criminal for something of this calibre, never mind 79 000. This is so beautiful the universe should just give up and realise when it’s been beat.

The Alien is sick because it's Paranoid Android by Radiohead and John Wayne Gacy. Jr by Sufjan Stevens had a butt baby!
Angel of death is about as good as acoustic performances get... it's up there with John Martyn's may you never
Thanks for posting! Absolutely mesmerizing. FYI - Cope and I Can Barely Breathe are in the wrong order on your setlist.
I know they’ve/he’s been around for years but I’ve never really connected with the music. Until now. His voice is astonishing.
I can’t believe that I ever thought that I could play and sing. The fucking audacity 😂
Me salió en el móvil de casualidad lo escuchado, y me encanta gracias a quién esté detras
"Let it Storm" is mindblowing. Love the album version.... but his raw emotion in this video is FELT
Incredible. His voice, the lyrics.... I am so looking forward to seeing them live in Phoenix next week.
I bet it was good
Jason you're amazing ;) thank you for the world :')) I don't understand all that Andy says but i can feel it deep down my bones and it feels real good !
He is so underrated & I feel the band is too. Timeless & just plain wonderful ❤

Ohhh i guess this is not a part of Britain's Got Talent... Thanx❤
engoying music and artist
I just love it when Andy sings his songs Acoustically. It really brings out his voice!
Love this sooooo much. got to see him right before I got divorced on an acoustic tour.
What an incredible, moving performance. I can't tell, Is he playing drop d for all these songs?
Edited to Add: NVM I just rewinded. I noticed he was playing drop D for Shake It Out but didn't notice that he changed the tuning while he was talking
He dropped to D for Cope
Andy Hull is a freaking genius...
He can serenade me any time of day or night … ❤️🩹
This is recorded on a phone brah!
Yeah, and I can't fucking believe how good the sound is!
This was just beautiful. It gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes. So so good!!!
Amazing talent and personality. Looking forward to 10th January in Amsterdam. Cannot wait.
i love the electric but gosh darn. best lyricist
Mask on while listening to music live 😂

Going to see them in KC next month it's been an 8 month wait... Cannot wait
SAME!!! CANT WAIT.......it's a religious experience for me

The Gold hits again. Tears.
I think this is my favorite version of Bed Head.

Incredible. So talented. This set was so beautifully done. Ps. Get stuffed
Lots of these songs touch your soul. I dont understand the lyrics but its same for me. I close my eyes and enjoy,

Wow, this guy can do anything.
I just love this band...a hidden gem in the world of music.....just discovered last year November....and I keep asking myself why?
What an amazing performance. Thx for posting.
