@@caseygray2328 I can't say for certain, but I think in one of the books Wrathion asks Kalec how he manages relations with 'humans'. I'll have to search for that one.

Sunwell trilogy was my first interaction with Warcraft universe so she and kalec both are really iconic to me, im so happy that this aspect of magic is getting this much attention in dragonflight
The art in those older novels was so damn epic. I remember reading them as a kid and thinking: "God damn Tauren are fucking badass."
The art style was a weird mix of anime fantasy and more gritty realism that I haven't seen in WoW since then.
I think it was the same artist as "King of Hell" manga

Minor detail, Kalec's mortal form is a half-elf, not just a human, he's the only half-elf character in the game to use a unique model, other half-elves either use a human model or a blood elf model
Pretty sure the only half-elf we have seen apart from Kalec is Arator, but yes.
@@oluftheexplorer9476 The other half elf in game is Alodi, the first Guardian of Tirisfal, his soul/echo/vision thing appears during Legion in the mage order hall storyline, and he uses a human model

I remember Kalecgos from TBC, but after that I never really saw him ingame. Only on a few occasions I was like "Hey it's Kalecgos!.... and his story has ended again...". I really hope he gets to shine in Dragonflight!

I've always thought of Kalecgos as one of the last NPCs that needed a model update.
Small correction about Jaina's purge of the Sunreavers. It was because they helped take the Divine Bell, the ancient Mogu artifact, from its safe in Darnassus.

yup. I also take issue with his characterization of her 'murdering' them, when what she did was attempt to arrest them for treason against Dalaran (of which they were very guilty,) and killed any who resisted arrest.
@@Keira_Blackstone You say they when you mean the archmage and his conflicted alliances at that point. Majority of sunreavers had nothing to do with this ploy and were colleteral bystanders during the purge of Dalaran.
I've gotta say, one of my favorite parts of these videos is how you inject comedy into them. It adds so much to the videos that it makes them enjoyable to even some like me who isn't even into WoW.
Thanks for making this video. As a kid I only had one Warcraft book and it was the first book of the trilogy with Anvina. For years I never knew where the story went, until now.

I remember seeing this character for the first time in the manga/comic back when I was in high school. Kinda disappointed that blizzard didn't do more with him over the years. Last I saw of him was the Dawn of the Aspects novel.

Honestly ever since I was young playing wotlk I always enjoyed Kalecgos. I’m borderline autistic for the dragons in WoW with the blue dragonflight being my favorite. I’m seriously hoping we get a lot more of him in dragonflight.
I managed to blot out the memory of the Sunwell comics. I won't thank you for reminding me of them, but other loreheads might.
That moon ritual was really convenient. Weren't the aspect so much powerful because they get titan's powers? And if that ritual happen every 400 years, shouldn't there be more aspects? Or it only happen if the previous owners are dead

I need to read some more of the books, I'm clearly missing out on a lot! I have the Warcraft Archive which is a collection of four books in one - apparently the earliest four - but I've not got around to the rest.

One thing I noticed is that Kalecgos is the only *official* Aspect replacement
I mean, think about it, Wrathion is a son of Deathwing and ome of rhe few Black Dragons left ,sure, but he hasn't been *officially* chosen to replace him
Then we have Ysera who *still* has yet to be replaced or have someone chosen as a substitute at the least. Mainly because there are *no* interesting or I thibk even that many named Greed Dragons that are still alive
Plus, eventually, Nozdormu will have to be replaced as he will inevitably turn into Murozond. Same as the Green Dragons, not many are both alive and significant enough to replace him.

As far as I red the book and remember "Tides of war" Jaina was the only survival who was pushed in the last moment through the portal from Theramore isle and still got radiated from the Focusing iris explosion, that's why she gained so much power and got new hair cut :D And they start snugging with Kalec before the event of Theramore, while helping him for the Focusing iris, that is why he and Thrall were able to stop her from annihilating the Horde.
But overall nice video again :)

I absolutely LOVE your videos! I have been pleading w/Blizzard to give Kalec a new in game model for YEARS! I was rather ticked that they introduced a 'smoldering' *cough* Wrathion (whom in my opinion is the reason we had any Horrific Visions at all,) & left poor Kalec to his cheap 80's video game model. Seriously, has anyone else noticed that no one actually has a 'horrific vision' until Wrathion shows up?? Even Anduin didn't have one until after he sucker punched the whelp.
Its a long shot but if dragonflight requires there to be new aspects made i think Thrall should be the new earth warden, khadgar should be the new aspect of magic., And Malfurion should be the new dreamer. NOt really sure who would be the new life binder would be but lorewalker cho would be amazing as the aspect of time.

Pretty certain Kalec wasn’t in Theramore when it got blown up. Rhonin drew the focusing iris to the tower to contain it (using I think his power and that of the tower) to limit its destructive scope so his wife and other allies that were out in the swamp would survive, and he shoved an unsuspecting Jaina through a portal to save her life. Everyone else in the city died, and Rhonin went out like a boss saving others.
