The style and ornamentation makes me place this as a 19th Century piece. We had a similar styled Harmonium that was imported from Canada in the late 19th. The Discs look very fragile to me. As for the sound? - simple, peaceful, pleasing, perhaps comforting and maybe more to many folks. I never imagined music boxes were ever made this big. Like our harmonium, I think this would struggle to compete for floor-space in modern accommodation. Sad really.
I used to love to watch the label of a 33 or 45 spinning on the turntable. (It was a rarity, because we didn't have a lot of discs to play.) That's something that makes me lament the way we play music now.
So I played this and my 85 year old granny asked what it was and she said this was played in maceys when she was a kid. A model almost just like this. That must of been the 30s ?

My father’s aunt and uncle had a Regina. It had drawers to hold the discs.
