Aww, finally a video on one of my favorites groups from the late 1940’s and the mid 50’s, “The Great Sonny Til and The Orioles who gave us Beautiful Music.” (GREAT VOICES!!!!) It’s Too Soon To Know, and Crying In The Chapel are my favorites songs by The Orioles. “Appreciate This Video.”!!!🎹🎹🎸🎸🎼🎼
The 1953 version of “Crying In The Chapel” will remain the ultimate in vocal group recordings of the 1950s before the “big bang” of 1956. Thank you for posting this and keep up your wonderful work. We appreciate it.
The Orioles had a song back in the day during Christmas "What are you doing on Christmas Eve". I had that back on tape and now I have it downloaded as an MP3. The Orioles were the Drifters. They changed their lineups so much its hard to keep up. But their hits dried up before the 60s where as the Drifters had hits from the mid 50s til early 70s
My Mother DEBORAH CHESSLER AKA Shirley Reingold Was Former Manager And Hit Songwriter Of THE ORIOLES. My Mother Also Inducted THE ORIOLES Into The ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME. The Groundbreaking Hit Song My Mother Wrote Song " ITS TOO SOON TO KNOW " Was Recorded By THE ORIOLES And Linda Ronstadt And Ella Fitzgerald And Dinah Washington And Etta James And Pat Boone And Glenn Frey And Frankie Valli And Tony Bennett. This Song Is Considered By Some Music Critics To Be The FIRST ROCK AND ROLL RECORD 🎵😃🎵😃🎵😃
There were more members over the next few years, Eddie Jones,Chuck Battle,Richard Knight,Larry Jordan,Royal Height, Ray Apollo Allen,Charles Ellis,Dave Warren.and a few others.

My favorite song by the Orioles, and one of my favorite songs by anyone, is "It's Too Soon To Know."
I've never heard of this group GREAT STORY
Looking forward to learn about this group. Congrats on 37K!!!!🎉
I have never heard of this group before, they do have nice voices. Great video, thanks for giving these amazing vocalist their flowers!!!
My father used to talk about this group.
Good video 😀
A video on the Mills Brothers would be great. They were the granddaddy of all the vocal groups.
Had no idea Skip Mahoney sang with the Orioles. He had a group here n the Baltimore DC area called the Casuals. Learn something new everyday!
Thank you
I never heard of this group but glad you shared.
@theresawebb1968 ...That's because you weren't born then.

Hard to pick a favorite. They were all good. Crying In The Chapel, It's Too Soon To Know, et al.

WHEN I WAS 17 YEARS OLD IN 1975 MY GIRL DUMPED ME IN AUGUST IN 1976 JULY SHE TOOK ME BACK HER WORDS TO ME WAS. FORGIVE AND FORGET
I've always wondered when and how that "group" concept got started. who created the blue print for this form of entertainment.
Sonny Til sounds toxic as hell.... but Crying In The Chapel
Elvis must have remade Crying in the Chapel. His version is the only one that I have heard.
