See, this is a tutorial. Not only did you show us the basic logo steps, you kept taking it up a notch. You did not leave any questions unanswered. I fucks with it. Thanks brother, I will dance at your wedding.
That last line got me 😂. Glad it helped man
As a professor of many years in graphic design, I can speak to your design skills. You may be an pretty good screen printer, however your “design sense” likewise is excellent. It is very enjoyable seeing your your videos printing well designed imagery that you have created. Likewise, your on camera persona is engaging. Thank you for these videos!
Really appreciate that, thank you!
Lee you make it all look so easy. I am sure with some serious practice it will be. Thanks for all you do for this community.
That's all it takes. I'm still learning illustrator myself, there's so much to know it's ridiculous.
Awwwww SNAP!!!! Love looking at the process with the dialogue. Lookes great and its always worth doing the F Work!!!
Thank you for sharing! Love all of your videos!
Yo man let me tell you! You're a great teacher! I had so much fun watching this type of videos. Felt like you're doing pretty much most of the things I would do too. Keep it up👍🏻
Thanks a lot man 👊🏻
Type nerd here.
Those weird corner bits are called Ink Traps.
They are a hangover from the printing industry.
Here's the Wikipedia on them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ink_trap
Since a lot of the common printing fonts have been recreated for digital many still retain the characteristics of the original metal type.
Also why the kearning might be a bit off because of the use of metal pieces that don't overlap.
Keep up the great work.
Wow, you definitely know your stuff! I love been learning more and more about type and it's history lately, because of this video actually. It's a really fascinating topic and there's so much more to it than I could have ever expected.
You deserve another 2 million subs for the quality of content you deliver. I’m only rocking 46 subs just starting out but you are a true inspiration and a wealth of knowledge!
Thanks!
Still working here. I've been an Adobe (Aldus) fan since 1984 Yet watching my favorite guys I still can learn easier ways to complete orders Thanks Babe
Always quality material brother. Really dug how you said, "simple sells." That's my mindset when I make a design.
Yup, it's the best principle of design to grab onto. Look at all the most well known logos of the world, there's a pattern of simplicity 🤘🏻
I own and operate my own Large Format Printing and Graphics company. Almost everything you've mentioned in this video is super valuable to people trying to learn these skills. Amazing Job!
Hell ya, glad to hear. Thanks man!
brother the tutorial just keeps getting better and better as video goes on, cheers.
Hell ya, thanks!
Have not seen your channel for a while just thought I might stop by see what you're up to always good information thank you.
Love your channel lee! As a hopefully successful lol future brand owner that I’m working on launching once the world goes back to normal I look forward to all your content and really dig everything you do. I hope you make more of these tutorial videos. Keep inspiring man!
Hell ya man, I've got plenty of ideas to make more of this kinda of stuff if people wanna see it 🤘🏻
Bro! Amazing how subtle changes makes the design pop. Great video for sure. Practice makes the clicking of the buttons easier i'm sure. Thank you for taking the time. Much Appreciated.
Yup, a few small tweaks can make something cool and original. Practice makes perfect 👌🏻
Hell yeah brother!! This is better than netflix at the moment. Keep up the great content and continue doing tutorials!
Definitely better than sitting around watching Netflix (unless it's tiger king, totally worth it). I've got more of these things in store soon
I learned a lot in this video. You explained why you did things. Not many people do that. Perfect man!!!! thank you
I was trying to keep it short but figured I would leave in all that step by step info and see how people like it. Glad it helped
Hey brother! Im watching your videos for a while and i am just in love with the content. Few years back i had tried starting screen printing but was not able to continue it because of lack of knowledge. But now i feel i would be able to start it again. I will love to have a one on one discussion with you soo that i am much more better at it when i start it after the lockdown.
Thats a sick design..clean simple..classic look
Thanks a lot 👊🏻
Thank You so much for all the great content! As a beginner myself and just starting out it has helped/inspired me to push forward each day!

Good stuff man!!! Really enjoyed this video! Def inspired me to fire up illustrator and play around a bit!
It's super fun to play around with, especially once you start nailing the main tools and can really push things
Reminds me of Aaron Draplins designs, nice work, love it.
This was very inspired by his style, he's one of my favorites. Thanks!
Lee since you are giving such a great class these should be on Skill Share!

Great video, wish I saw this before I paid for my logo. Oh well, can always upgrade later. Nice work!! Black and orange are definitely my colors too.
If you're ever looking to upgrade, logo design is what we do best here 🤘🏻

Hell ya, there's a lot of good stuff on there. Thanks man
Love this Canadian content🇨🇦
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
What Size artboard do you usually start off with? Loved this tutorial. Hoping for more Illustrator type tutorials!
Either 13"x13" or 13"x19" are good starting points. Really doesn't matter when it comes to vector art though, since it scales infinitely
U my big inspiration Lee am from Ghana
Cool to hear
Aaron!! I’ve actually met him and got to have a hands on class with him. Such a cool dude!
Super cool! I'd love to meet him and pick his brain one day
Support the creativity, tons here!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
HAA~i use the same way to Measure gap, logo is super cool. Thanks for sharing.
It's definitely a fast and helpful way to do it
Thanks brother. I signed up for the 2 free months along with the yearly $99 bucks. The illness needs to be positive and gain something out of it. Outside of the 15 pounds and trips to the store to look for TP as the A whips are hoarding it. Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I got AI about 6 months ago and really just been a fancy icon on my computer.
Nice! It's definitely worth the yearly cost, I'll be a member for a long ass time. Glad this helped out 🙌🏻
Sweet!
Thank you for that Lee..
Glad to do it 👊🏻
thank God Lee is well
Quarantine champion
Can you make a video on color matching the design from the screen to a regular heat transfer paper.. As in 1.ICC Profiles 2.Color mode 3.adjusting br/cr 4. preferably photoshop / Illustrator and all such small details
I swear I watched one vid of yours and now I am slowly getting equipment to print (super budget ) I’m hooked .But Can you please do a second part to this design and show how to print the color separating for screen printing .
I definitely plan on it. I wanna make sure I have the best possible process and do things better than the other videos out there
I have 3 questions for you on screen printing. I've googled it but to be honest we prefer hearing it from you since we know your extra picky on your quality as me and my wife will be with ours. We respect your opinion more than anyone else's.
1. What printer do you recommend for transparencies?
2. What Transparency do you recommend?
3. Do you print straight from Adobe or do you use another program (such as Accu-rip Ruby Software) to print your transparencies?
Wicked!! Thanks heaps ;)
Happy to help 👊🏻
Giving this video a 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I need lots of those
Great! Now you have me saying"shit the bed" when I mess something up. Lmao. Great videos man.
Glad to pass that one along 😂
Want more of these
Got plenty more coming 🤘🏻
How do you save it for print? When I save fonts for print. It isn’t clear. Idk why
Great video! Some of the terms you used I notice are also used in the sign painting trade. Do you have an experience in that??
I don't, but a lot of the terms are universal in design and print. Thanks!
hei hei do you guys know if theres a separation program or app for ipad pro?
Great video, got me motivated, do you use a drawing tablet, if not what do you recommend for drawing your designs,
thanks
Thanks man. I have an iPad Pro that I use with sidecar as a drawing tablet, but I don't use it super often. I mainly use the pen and shape builder tools
How’d you get that AMAZING Pantone color palette
hi there thanks for this video tutorial and for tell me about skill shear and hope to see more tutorial videos on graphic design if you may do thanks
Plenty more to come
@@leestuart38hi lee when do you upload your videos
Usually on sundays
Yet again hi Lee, keep watching these videos, yet another question for you, the adobe Illustrator you use, is it just Illustrator or do you have other programs with it, as in adobe package deal & what RIP software do use use? I want to get Illustrator but there are packages that i can get as well as AI on its own, any help is appreciated
Would you ever think of DTG I don't like it and I don't have it but just see how you would do with it.
Nah I'm not a fan, they're super slow and expensive to run. The huge units definitely have their place, but the technology in the small scale machines has a while to catch up to where it needs to be
Hey, i'm new to screen printing and i got a quick question, when printing on black tees i have a issue where the colour is a lot lighter when printing on top of the white under base. So was wondering if anyone knows a way to have it print the same colour as when printing on white tees without a under base ?
Lee Stuart Hello ..hope you're well.
I started watching this video today after a sleepless night worrying about weather or not I have the capability to design something on request ...for any random situation....
I don't have any background in design...or art...or anything like that and I'm not going to have a designer I can to turn to...without costing me anyway...
And I know you're a huge fan of Skill Share...but I was wondering what your thoughts are on this concern of mine...
I'm OK with Photoshop...not done much moving between photoshop and Illustrator though...but im reasonably confident that side of things will be OK.. certainly any or most photoshop/ Illustrator problems can be figured out ...
Its the lack of a creative background that I'm worried about.. I fell trees ya know 😕
Thanks
bro, you could make that into like a superman emblem knockoff with a little variation
How do you get the shirt and hoodie mocks?
We make them, buy them, whatever we need. You can get cheap ones on creative market
how did you get the swatch color palette?
That's the pantone color book
Been watching the channel for a few days and love the videos. My only problem with this video is you never saved the document!
I checked every time I could see and was pissed... “dude save that shit!” PTSD with Illustrator crashing.
Illustrator recovery backups man, I've got my preferences cranked. I've never lost more than 1-2 actions of it crashes, most of the time I don't lose anything.
wicked video bro, you taking on any design work?
Always. Head over to our website and check out the design page 🤘🏻
@@leestuart38 Submitted my inquiry on the website. Looking forward to your response.
How would you create a trap for this?
There are no colors touching so there would be no need for a trap
Hirty Eigh ?
My clothing brand is going to be called “RichMade” and trying to come up with a design makes me wanna throw my pc out the window lol
Itz RichTv just wait till you start printing it your self. Than is not only the PC you wanna trow out the window. Just keep pushing forward!
Dennis Terwel yeah Ik😂 thanks I can’t wait to start tho
Design is really tough when you're new to it, I run dry on ideas all the time. But that's what designs like this are for since you can create from something existing
That reference to Will Smith is very… interesting. Here from the future.
Aaron Draplin is the best
"just a tiny bit hair off" idk how you said that with a straight face
Tiny nut hair :D
yup. this is a tutorial. you should make a tutorial on how to make a tutorial on youtube. Tutorialception.
Haha thanks!
