Okay, I am just getting into screen printing. But I learned WAY more in this 10-minute video about adobe than the first 15 videos I have watched about Adobe. Thank you so much for the help.
This was great! I'm a newbie and this was by far the most thorough and helpful tutorial I've watched! I created my first registration marks thanks to you!
Awesome video. This helps a lot. I am starting to learn screen print, I find it to be a good skill. I am struggling with illustrator (pics to vector, illustrator set up) so these videos help a great deal. You explain everything in detail, each move. Others talk as we know illustrator already. Practice practice practice.. Thanks again.
Very nice sir and good explanation. I can take the info and use my Corel Draw to do the same. Do you have a video of next step, taking the transparency to place it on screen for exposure? TIA
i bumped into your channel by accident when you posted the video of your finished printshop and ive watched you ever since man! my wife says you remind her of me, biz wise and we look similar she says haha! i started my shop a year ago #PRINTLIFE . btw your shop is dope af!! your videos always help even if its just watching someone else that loves printing like myself! ✌ from NC, USA keep up the dope fucking work Lee Stuart!
Man I been using + signs for my reg tried your reg Marx today and BAM life became so much easier haha took a 15 sweat suit printed some stuff on it sold it for 125 haha but fr fr appreciate the tutorial
so I now have my illustrator template.. what is the best way to get these regs marks onto my colour seps that i did in photoshop.. all different files for each colour print.
Hey Lee Thank you for all you do! I got thru everything expanded and when I chose "unite" the square fills in black??? I am using a PC and have tried several things with no success. Any suggestions?
Hey bro. I use CS5 still. I can figure out why when I draw the line with my pen tool it makes a blue line and starts center and widens as I draw the line. I tried changing the width too and it wont let me change it to .7 inch. Please let me know how to get the black line like you have in the video. Thanks
Your platens mate. How do you position your artwork in illustrator to then match up with you grid on your platen? I've got mine set up in a way where it's the same everytime. Be interesting to see how you do yours?
Thank you very much. My printer can do 13x19 but never printed anything that size from it. Looks like some test runs. Appreciate the reply. Taking the plunge from vinyl to screen printing. From your videos looks like I'm in for a ride. Keep up the content brother. Awesome to see someone building something out of nothing.
Whats the advantage of using squares over circles? I saw them in your previous video so I tested them out, but my printers said it was harder to line up. Perhaps they arent as concerned with registration as you are, idk.
I've been racing motocross, snowcross and all kinds of other things my whole life, I was a pro rider for a long time. 38 was my number I started with as a kid and I've held onto it in some way through my whole career and now into other things
Haha I actually spell it the American way since I lived there for a bit and most of my following is from there, less confusion. But ya man, I'll be doing the separations tutorial soon when I get some time 🤘🏻
Consider on your reg marks to use the reg mark stroke, rather than black. The reason you want to do this is that when you do multi-color/sim process down the road, you don't want to have to make multiple reg marks for all the different colors. It will always print off regardless of what color you use. I hope that makes sense. :) BTW it's in the color pallet that looks like a reg mark.
I dont like Mac , But what that you were holding ??? AAARGGGG You going to FAST. I'm trying to learn this. All you You tubers arn't explaining too well how to go about it. I Need step by step.

Finally picked up a press after about 2 years of following you and knew where to come for my first print!
Hell ya, good luck 🤘🏻
Watched the whole video with no intention of ever doing this. Great tutorial.
That's a good sign that it didn't totally suck haha. Thanks man!
Keep these coming!!! Very straight to the point, no filler.

Do you have a tutorial on color separation? Thank you for the clear and easy to follow instructions.
Hi easiest explanation so far can I use those ref marks for large images on my cricut machine
Thanks
What are they used for and how do I use them, I’m new to screen printing
Great tutorial, got my hw done!

The need to expand the strokes on the registration mark was new to me. So this is better than just leaving them as strokes?
It's not a requirement, but expanding and uniting them eliminates a lot of weird mistakes from happening
Cheers mate. Love from Australia
Hello, I'm currently attempting my first order but don't know how to add these registration marks in photoshop ?
Nice! Do you have videos where you do your chokes and traping? Thanks for sharing
Not yet, but I'll be doing a separations video soon enough
Great video. You're very easy to learn from at least for me. I would love to see more tutorial videos if you have the time.
Hell ya, thanks man. Definitely got some more stuff like this coming
This video was very helpful and I appreciate what you do man!
Glad to help man 👊🏻
This was a perfect tutorial! 👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you 🙏🏻
Personally like to use thinner lines for regs! I feel like it gives the less wiggle room to be off.
Hey man how come my line is black but the square I make is a very light grey ?
Awesome! Learning everyday. Thanks Brother.
so I now have my illustrator template.. what is the best way to get these regs marks onto my colour seps that i did in photoshop.. all different files for each colour print.
Copy/paste them in there
Hey Lee Thank you for all you do! I got thru everything expanded and when I chose "unite" the square fills in black??? I am using a PC and have tried several things with no success. Any suggestions?
just did it a few more time and success!
What brand of shirt are you using for your own brand tees? Thanks
went well, I like there was not a bunch of extra stuff.
More please and thank you
Thanks! I'll definitely be getting more out there soon 🤘🏻
Good job...I learned something I needed. Thanks!
I had been waiting for this one
Glad to get it out 🤘🏻

If I don’t know what film size I’m using what do I input ? I’ll be printing my films out with staples & im not sure which they use
Another thing, my illustrator doesn’t show “width & height” in the top tool bar
Your platens mate. How do you position your artwork in illustrator to then match up with you grid on your platen? I've got mine set up in a way where it's the same everytime. Be interesting to see how you do yours?
Haha I don't. I just adjust on press, it takes me like a minute to set everything up
@@leestuart38 fair! So your lines on your platen then? how do you lay them out? I've fucked around with mine so many times I'm getting sick of it haha
Hey lee, big fan. can you do a video on how and where measurement wise go in an illustrator file?
How far down from top would you say to put the registration marks.
Really depends on your printer and how close it prints to the edge. Mine is nearly edge to edge so I can place them right to the top of the artboard
Thank you very much. My printer can do 13x19 but never printed anything that size from it. Looks like some test runs. Appreciate the reply. Taking the plunge from vinyl to screen printing. Whats the advantage of using squares over circles? I saw them in your previous video so I tested them out, but my printers said it was harder to line up. Perhaps they arent as concerned with registration as you are, idk.
They're way easier to line up since everything is a straight line, you can't see if anything is tilted on a circle
@@leestuart38 I suspect they notice when things were unaligned more often and they would rather just not know that its off
thanks
what black shirts you us
Thanks! Needed a better mark!
It's great to use, definitely helped me!
Which transparency paper do you use?
The good stuff 😉

This was amazing and super informative.
Thanks man. I've got another one similar to this coming out in the next couple weeks, just finished it today 🤘🏻
Yo this saved my ass today. Thanks dude!
Awesome video. And sick shirt 😉
Very informative video. Can you do a video on print setup without having software to be able to print to STAPLES. PLEASSEEE thanks lol
Hey lee, in your logo LS38. LS means Lee Stuart. What exactly 38 defines? If possible tell us.
I think thats in reference to his other company.
@@jordanb1153 may be 38yrs old?

Fantastic !! Greetings from Spain !

Another great educational video.

your a life saver thank you.
Spot color in illustrator
That one is definitely coming
I think you're supposed to fill the registration marks with the registration swatch so they will automatically print on every film color.
You are, but that's something to be explained during color separation since there is more than one route to take
Thank you brother, was very helpful..god bless
Glad to help
Well done... very easy
Your still our hero.
Bangin' Bro. Next up,,,,,Easy colour (notice spelling there) lol separations in Illustrator, Yeah, Thought so Bro lol. Good stuff Lee

Phenomenal job kid! You're an absolute great instructor. How far down do you place your art work on the frame when burning?
Thanks dude! It really depends on the artwork itself, for for the average stuff I place it down about 1/3 of the frame size
@@leestuart38 Thanks for the quick response, stay human....
great thank you
Need a tutorial for photoshop plzzz!!
These will just copy/paste into photoshop
@@leestuart38 I can’t use AI to save my life, idk what it is but whenever I try to make these registration marks on AI I always mess it up
How is this the easy way? Can't you just cut one out and tape it to the artwork?! I don't know AI.
I hope this is a bad joke
found it!
Hope it helps 🙌🏻
I thought Canadians didn't use inches, but I guess I was wrong. Maybe that shouldn't be what I take away from this video, but who cares!
