My aunt used to put her egg shells back in the carton then back in the fridge. When the carton was full she would crush the shells and toast them briefly in the oven. When the purple martins were nesting she would sprinkle the egg shells on the ground below the birdhouses to encourage them to stay and nest in her birdhouses.

Love being in the kitchen with you, MaryAnn! I did chuckle because I felt like looking in a mirror at myself, flour, etc. always on my clothes before I think to put on an apron, lol!!
What's a little mess when we're busy, huh! Just thinking of your finished manicotti has my mouth watering:)!!
    Looking forward to part 2!!
The cookie plate looks delicious, too!! It reminded me of baking for our daughter's wedding ~ so many cookies for her table!
Like Joe and you, I can't stay out of them unless I bury some in the freezer, lol! So no baking here this year except to give to the grandchildren:).
While Hubby isn't tempted by cookies, he finds the pasta simply irresistible ~ yep, this guy is Swedish and German, but his taster is 100% Italian, lol! Our friends, family always request his lasagna ~ he's happy to oblige, very at home in the kitchen:)
When he gets home, gonna show him this video:)
Thanks so much for filming, Joe, being the guy behind the scene today!
    Great being with you! ~Susan

🙋🏻‍♀️Woke up in a panic at four am , thinking it was Christmas Day and I hadn’t started cooking
Yet 🤣 turned on the tv and there was Maryann ❤️ I’m not as ambitious, and she made making those crepes look so easy . I cheat , and buy the ready made frozen ( no sauce on )
Manicotti & stuffed shells . I make my own gravy of course . With all the meat . God bless her , I only had one sister in law that made them from scratch . Like I mentioned with the pastry ,
We had so many good “ Italian Stores” to by fresh pasta , etc ..When we lived in Brooklyn & N.J. , that even my grandmother stopped making from scratch , and only did the lasagna on her own , like me now 🤣
What a great video to put up on Christmas Eve !
Maryann the cookies look delicious, I was going to try Grandma Ginas ricotta cookie , but I think they’ll be so many , tomorrow ,I won’t tackle them till the weekend . ( calmly ) I use Anisette in all my Italian cookies though , I think she used almond . It will just be my children with spouses & 👧🏻👧🏻👧🏻. But we make the 10 person quota . 😤😷😠
I let them make what they want and stand back alittle now . Especially my Italian son in law who loves to cook !
I hope you have a blessed Christmas. Well all try and think happy thought tomorrow, although hard , we can always find something or someone to be thankful for !
So I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to comment tomorrow for part two , but I’ll definitely be watching when everyone leaves ,
So Buon Natale! From myself , Keith and all my family in Va that love you both !❤️ 🎅🏻🎄🤶🏻❤️

I also made what we call " Texas trash" it's chex mix but with a Texas twist. I make it every Christmas. My sister is making all the cookies this year so I don't have as much to do. which makes it nice. I look forward to watching your part two video. Merry Christmas! Well, Mare, I am not sure that you are dyslexic, but you are certainly ambidextrous the way you're working those two pans at a time! Manicotti is a lot of work, but so worth it! I made them for Thanksgiving. I thought about making them for Christmas, but have decided to go with ravioli. I have my paternal grandmother's pan that she used when she made manicotti over the years and I also use the Tfal pan.
Joe, rosettes!! I have the flower-shaped spatula used to dip into the better and then hot oil. I think it is from my maternal great-grandmother. Now that I heard you mention them, I think I will make them.
"My Angelina, when she make like a this and like a this and throw all the dishes off the table!"
"You wanna wiggle? Wiggle on over to the stove!"
    Classic.
You know I was just saying to my friend the other day that throughout my childhood I saw the amount of work that would go into the cooking, the baking, the setting of the table...all the people...and never, not one complaint from anybody. All I do now that I am the adult and doing the work is whine about how tired I am, it's shameful. Things just aren't how they used to be, or perhaps I am not how I should be LOL
Thanks for sharing guys! Hugs and kisses xoxoxoxoxo

I'm so tired too but I think its boredom and frustration over this situation we are in. I'm starting to feel like I'm in a cage, not good....well I hope your ravioli turned out great, which I'm positive they did, and you had an enjoyable day..cant believe its over and I have to take all of this down!! It’s true ,we tend to make things the way we like them. Even Pizzeles are slightly different from one to another . So few ingredients in them .

I can’t dress up cooking, I’ve cooked in my pjs, even during the day and that’s okay.. my kitchen, my way lol 😂.. Merry Christmas. And God Bless. I’ve been really down and depressed this year and y’all give me a smile, thank you 🙏

I made these with my mom and taught my daughter yesterday! My daughter was a natural, we had 2 pans going as well. My mother uses a slice of bacon on the side to grease the pan though. But I'm not sure we needed it - once the shells are set and cooked they seem to release from the pan, just fine. I wanted to see how other people are doing them, your way is very similar. You aren't dyslexic, but you might you have ADHD - I can tell by the way you talk. I am the same way! You just have a lot on your mind and thinking about many things all at once. You are smart, bright, creative and thoughtful. But you see how you are planning, even as you place them on the plate - you explain it's easy to pull the next shell as you are filling if you stagger rather than stack. So you have a method to your madness and always looking for ways to make your process more efficient. I'm also covered in flour when I bake/cook! It's how it should be! I enjoyed watching you create these. Thank you for sharing!! I'm going to go watch the filling now. But yours sounds the same as mine! So my mom made the shells once a week before but they molded and she had to do the whole thing ALL over again! So... they don't last more than 3 or 4 days in the fridge. (I like the Locatelli Pecorino Romano Cheese too!)

She got her first covid shot last week they are so excited to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Merry Christmas.
