    Industry standarts of beauty come from industry standarts of sewing. Plus size has a definite and very practical meaning, describing clothes not just big, but with specific proportions. And no, it is not just loose fit, plus size can be slim as well, as Mrs Graham dispalyed as a model quite often.
    We do not need to redefine visions of beauty, we need to teach the young how not to be ashemed of what they are. For if not for the weight, she could have been flogging herself for gender, birthplace, income, marital status, anything else

    Personally I like curvy women, a pretty face is a must yes I'm that shallow, but also intelligence is a big turn on for me and a great witty sense of humour. But back to curves, that to me is real woman, with baby tummy, that's the stretch marks left from having a child an as a man I like that and embrace it.

    Ashley Graham is a good example of a curvy woman. I think many people wouldn’t mind having more people like this do modelling careers. Where I think the problem lies, is with people like Tess Holiday, who are clearly morbidly obese and try to advocate that as normal and healthy.

    • @robyndismon394
      @robyndismon394 2 года назад +6

      Perhaps Tess Holiday has learned to love and value herself in the present, as opposed to the way Valerie Bertinelli chose to approach weight loss. Did she achieve her goal? Absolutely but only recently in the last year or so has she become quite candid about the restrictive, unhealthy way she attained that weight loss. I love Valerie as an artist and as a human being. I've seen her emotional testimonies on Instagram and other social media expressing her pain, disappointment and depression regarding her current weight. Yes. She gained every pound back. She's human And the program she underwent initially was set up to fail.
      I've said all of that to say this. Tess may very well be living in a way that is allowing her to reach a healthier weight. It takes time and in the midst of that journey she does not owe the public any details in that regard.

    The problem begins when by 'plus-size' morbid obesity is promoted and said as 'normal' and 'that's okay, dudes, go for it'. Just as same as beauty standards 90-60-90 make girls feel bad/ashamed/not worthy if they do not meet these criteria or there is even the least difference between their appearance and instagram model's one. Both of these spectres are damaging to society, imho.

    Men define what beauty is when it comes to women, therefore, you can’t convince men to accept what is unattractive to them. Take money for instance…..Us men can’t convince women to be attracted to poor guys and it wouldn’t do society any good to tell men to be happy and poor. How about simply not overeating and exercise?

    • @MrSamulai
      @MrSamulai 2 года назад +12

      Men don't have the exclusive say on what female beauty is. Women don't try to look beautiful just to attract mates, you might as well claim men hit the gym just to get laid.
      If women were only attracted to wealthy men, children living in povery would be nonexistent. Yet here we are.
      Convincing everyone to be happier with less material wealth would be the greatest service to humanity since some unnamed sapien decided to bang two rocks together.
      Also cure to depression is to cheer up, cure to cancer is to get better and cure to homelessness is to get a house. Apparently.
      Btw I don't agree spreading misinformation about unhealthy lifestyles. But jesus it smells like incel in here.
