You don't play as Imperial Guard in Darktide. One of the classes is a former guardsman but you're just prisoners conscripted into an inquisitor's warband, fighting from a rogue trader vessel, using whatever junk they have available.

I've never been into the Warhammer franchise but THIS... The multiplayer is giving me unreal tournament vibes and the campaign feels like gears of war, I'm here for it.

And yet people like you said the same thing about DarkTide without knowing the Developers and look how that turned out It's a reskinned assetflip of WWZ, it's gonna have loads of issues not work properly for 6 months and take a year or 2 to get into a good spot, it's gonna be a 7 to 8/10 max, it's literally the exact same gameplay loop as WAS A nothing really changed even the Tyrannids move exactly the same as the Zekes as it's just reused tech being the Swarm Tech it's not new and has loads of issues they refuse to fix, it's 1000 to 1200 max but that will only be on huge horses which will be rare, try 600 ish on screen mad most of the time, it's how the tech works and seems to have hard limits they can't improve

No as I have standards, have played plenty of WWZ and the fact this game is just a full priced WWZ asset clip with a mild facelift Literally 75 to 80% of this game is reused assets, UI, Swarm Tech and more directly from WWZ Keep in mind WWZ has the exact same gamemodes bad a "singleplayer" which you can still play will as you can here, has coop and PvPvE like they are doing here to where it failed and died in WWZ, but WWZ is 30 this is gonna be 55!!!!!!!! This game motivated me to actually get into the lore of warhammer 40k, and seeing as this lore spans decades, I have a lot of work ahead of me, but im excited to see how it goes.
To be fair a Melta Rifle isn't exactly going to be a loud gun, there's no conventional projectile (the Bolter's are loud because it's a massive calibre bullet propelled at high force that then explodes), even the Plasma Gun would likely be louder, you point a Melta at something and most of the noise is going to be them screaming if they are still alive and literally melting apart. It's firing superheated plasma and relies on exchange of thermal energy, it apparently only makes a hiss, and the resulting blast comes from it actually impacting the target and superheating them in a fraction of a second.
@@ERAA-on-YT Yeah, it effectively evaporates all water in the area instantly and superheats the entire surrounding area (obviously it would also melt everything around the initial projection as well, but this is magical future tech). If the target had a high water content, it absolutely would explode, if anyone has ever seen a material superheat, that's effectively what happens. According to the lore it's sort of like a hiss followed by either a pop or a massive explosion depending on the size of the Melta and the Target.

What I am _eagerly_ pondering is whether *Lord Nemeroth,* the Chaos Sorcerer Terminator Lord, will make a dramatic return in Space Marine II. Planet Demetrium's heavy Tzeentch influence really makes me wonder if our fiercely formidable sorcerous foe from the first game might reappear. During the final fight, Nemeroth was in the process of becoming a Daemon Prince of Chaos, which grants him a degree of immortality. He even proclaimed himself to be _"unassailable,"_ meaning _"undefeatable"_ or _"unkillable."_ Nemeroth's penultimate words to Titus before being vanquished were: _"If it takes a thousand years I will rise again and take my vengeance upon your friends."_ Well, will he? Remember when he mocked Titus with, _"You cannot kill me, Titus of the Ultramarines."_ Well, what if he couldn't? Another factor to take into account were Nemeroth's haunting last words to Titus: _"Will you be joining us soon... brother?"_ He stated this in a very cold and calm manner for someone who just had his entire cranium mashed to pieces and while having what remained of his body vanish into the warp. This makes it seem as if the (now daemonic) Chaos Lord knew of something. Something in the future. This then raises the question of whether Titus' troubles with the Inquisition and their suspicion of him being corrupted will come into play once more. Could these words and his transformation foreshadow his return? Fellow n̶e̶c̶k̶b̶e̶a̶r̶d̶s̶, o̶l̶d̶f̶a̶g̶s̶, m̶e̶n̶ o̶f̶ w̶i̶s̶d̶o̶m̶ a̶n̶d̶ l̶o̶r̶e̶ fans, what are your thoughts? I noticed the Vanguard Marine in Salamanders green had green lenses. I hope we can change their colour to yellow, and the pauldrons to white so that they represent the 7th Company. Moreso; that there are skin tone options for the parts that are exposed.

Space Marines get a gold Service Studs after every century of active duty and Titus had two Service Studs in the first game and now he has four. That means Titus has be active for two century after the first game took place. Something is not right here.
@@SerRompalot Common dude. Even if Titus was 299 years old in the first game they (the ultramarines) wouldn't just give anyone a Service Stud one second before he had served a century let alone two. This means he has served at minimum 400 years plus one day in Space Marine 2. Ether they lied about the date the first game took place or someone in the Ordo Chronos will be turned into a servitor. The only other possibility is he was ordered to do penance in the warp and served in compressed time situation... Now that i think about it that probably the only lore accurate scenario. That is what they did to Uriel Ventris in the novel Dead Sky, Black Sun.

the combat looks greatly upgraded with standing dodges, counter attack and quickshots... The operations mode looks like something that could be expanded as long as they want, so that's a good thing for longevity. Versus mode is what i'm not interested in, but with all these new options, i'm sure people who enjoyed it in SM1 will get what they want here ! Only thing i'm a bit concerned about is the mission based campaign with loadouts etc. I tend to prefer one uninterrupted campaign like SM1 rather than going through a hub where you are forced to listen to everyone in static dialogue between each mission... :)

"Passion and care" It bloody seems like it! And something we sorely need more of in gaming. WW3 please if your gonna happen, happen after I'm done with this game (Probably will never be done with it XD). The game looks like a true work of art on the level of the OG Halo and Gears of War trilogies. I'm interested in what the story is going to be and if that is better than expected then I will be playing this game for years. The multiplayer and co-op mode replay ability looks like the game is set to provide an on par or better experience than top games on the market like Call of Duty, Halo Infinite etc. What can I say that isn't obvious about the customisation. It more than eye candy like "skins" you buy in other game, it art worthy of purchase. Thank you developers for making this great work of art and as a hardcore gamer of 18 years this is my most anticipated game since God of War: Ragnarök and is on par with my anticipation of Gears of War: E-Day. So here’s the deal with me. Ever since I was a teen I’ve always loved stuff like Warhammer 40k but never had the patience to paint or sit down for a campaign with people, but LOVED video games and always thought a 40k video game would be rad. And now it’s finally here and I am SO EXCITED! This will be in my library rotation for YEARS. And I really hope that they release loads of content for us to experience. They have TONS of material to draw from and it would be a shame for them not to.

this looks like everything i want and more. I played through the first recently and was blown away by how fluid/satisfying the combat was along with just how much I found myself emotionally invested in the story... this is absolutely going to be one of my main squeeze games lol.

@@cirescythe well I am sure plenty of people there understand it as well. but they have allowed in forces (mainly investors) that prioritize pandering and kowtowing to certain cultural forces for "market appeal" (false assumption), which unfortunately undermines established lore and makes poorer stories/setting and has ruined many franchises in the recent past.
Its been a long time since I've had a REALLY GOOD feeling about a game. We'll see if its well founded, but everything I've seen and heard just looks absolutely AWESOME! Like the good old days when games launched feature complete! Been in a 40k mood ever since this reveal and been replaying Space Marine 1 and Space Hulk Deathwing, and a touch of Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2.
Honestly, I'm still a little worried that the Chaos Marines will be class locked by Legion and won't allow for customisation. Black Legion: Tactical Night Lords: Assault World Eater: Vanguard Bulwark: Death Guard Sniper: Alpha Legion Heavy: Iron Warriors I know we saw Chaos/Traitor Icons for the loyalist customisation, but still.

To be fair a Melta Rifle isn't exactly going to be a loud gun, there's no conventional projectile (the Bolter's are loud because it's a massive calibre bullet propelled at high force that then explodes), even the Plasma Gun would likely be louder, you point a Melta at something and most of the noise is going to be them screaming if they are still alive and literally melting apart. It's firing superheated plasma and relies on exchange of thermal energy, it apparently only makes a hiss, and the resulting blast comes from it actually impacting the target and superheating them in a fraction of a second.

Yeah, it effectively evaporates all water in the area instantly and superheats the entire surrounding area (obviously it would also melt everything around the initial projection as well, but this is magical future tech). If the target had a high water content, it absolutely would explode, if anyone has ever seen a material superheat, that's effectively what happens.
According to the lore it's sort of like a hiss followed by either a pop or a massive explosion depending on the size of the Melta and the Target.

What I am _eagerly_ pondering is whether *Lord Nemeroth,* the Chaos Sorcerer Terminator Lord, will make a dramatic return in Space Marine II. Planet Demetrium's heavy Tzeentch influence really makes me wonder if our fiercely formidable sorcerous foe from the first game might reappear.
During the final fight, Nemeroth was in the process of becoming a Daemon Prince of Chaos, which grants him a degree of immortality. He even proclaimed himself to be _"unassailable,"_ meaning _"undefeatable"_ or _"unkillable."_
Nemeroth's penultimate words to Titus before being vanquished were: _"If it takes a thousand years I will rise again and take my vengeance upon your friends."_ Well, will he? Remember when he mocked Titus with, _"You cannot kill me, Titus of the Ultramarines."_ Well, what if he couldn't?
Another factor to take into account were Nemeroth's haunting last words to Titus: _"Will you be joining us soon... brother?"_ He stated this in a very cold and calm manner for someone who just had his entire cranium mashed to pieces and while having what remained of his body vanish into the warp. This makes it seem as if the (now daemonic) Chaos Lord knew of something. Something in the future. This then raises the question of whether Titus' troubles with the Inquisition and their suspicion of him being corrupted will come into play once more.
Could these words and his transformation foreshadow his return? Fellow n̶e̶c̶k̶b̶e̶a̶r̶d̶s̶, o̶l̶d̶f̶a̶g̶s̶, m̶e̶n̶ o̶f̶ w̶i̶s̶d̶o̶m̶ a̶n̶d̶ l̶o̶r̶e̶ fans, what are your thoughts? I noticed the Vanguard Marine in Salamanders green had green lenses. I hope we can change their colour to yellow, and the pauldrons to white so that they represent the 7th Company. Moreso; that there are skin tone options for the parts that are exposed.

Space Marines get a gold Service Studs after every century of active duty and Titus had two Service Studs in the first game and now he has four. That means Titus has be active for two century after the first game took place.
Something is not right here.
is it possible that Titus was almost at his third stud, and the century is more of a 100+- sort of deal rather than exactly 100 years.
@@SerRompalot Common dude. Even if Titus was 299 years old in the first game they (the ultramarines) wouldn't just give anyone a Service Stud one second before he had served a century let alone two. This means he has served at minimum 400 years plus one day in Space Marine 2. Ether they lied about the date the first game took place or someone in the Ordo Chronos will be turned into a servitor.
The only other possibility is he was ordered to do penance in the warp and served in compressed time situation...
Now that i think about it that probably the only lore accurate scenario. That is what they did to Uriel Ventris in the novel Dead Sky, Black Sun.

the combat looks greatly upgraded with standing dodges, counter attack and quickshots... The operations mode looks like something that could be expanded as long as they want, so that's a good thing for longevity. Versus mode is what i'm not interested in, but with all these new options, i'm sure people who enjoyed it in SM1 will get what they want here !
Only thing i'm a bit concerned about is the mission based campaign with loadouts etc. I tend to prefer one uninterrupted campaign like SM1 rather than going through a hub where you are forced to listen to everyone in static dialogue between each mission... :)

"Passion and care" It bloody seems like it! And something we sorely need more of in gaming. WW3 please if your gonna happen, happen after I'm done with this game (Probably will never be done with it XD). The game looks like a true work of art on the level of the OG Halo and Gears of War trilogies. I'm interested in what the story is going to be and if that is better than expected then I will be playing this game for years. The multiplayer and co-op mode replay ability looks like the game is set to provide an on par or better experience than top games on the market like Call of Duty, Halo Infinite etc. What can I say that isn't obvious about the customisation. It more than eye candy like "skins" you buy in other game, it art worthy of purchase. Thank you developers for making this great work of art and as a hardcore gamer of 18 years this is my most anticipated game since God of War: Ragnarök and is on par with my anticipation of Gears of War: E-Day. I hope a developer sees this comment, ones like it and realises what I can only describe as deep appreciation and love for what they have made with what appears at present, respect and indeed passion. 😍😲🤗

Ever since I was a teen I’ve always loved stuff like Warhammer 40k but never had the patience to paint or sit down for a campaign with people, but LOVED video games and always thought a 40k video game would be rad. And now it’s finally here and I am SO EXCITED! This will be in my library rotation for YEARS. And I really hope that they release loads of content for us to experience. They have TONS of material to draw from and it would be a shame for them not to.

this looks like everything i want and more. I played through the first recently and was blown away by how fluid/satisfying the combat was along with just how much I found myself emotionally invested in the story... this is absolutely going to be one of my main squeeze games lol.

but they have allowed in forces (mainly investors) that prioritize pandering and kowtowing to certain cultural forces for "market appeal" (false assumption), which unfortunately undermines established lore and makes poorer stories/setting and has ruined many franchises in the recent past.

Its been a long time since I've had a REALLY GOOD feeling about a game. We'll see if its well founded, but everything I've seen and heard just looks absolutely AWESOME! Like the good old days when games launched feature complete! Been in a 40k mood ever since this reveal and been replaying Space Marine 1 and Space Hulk Deathwing, and a touch of Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2.
Honestly, I'm still a little worried that the Chaos Marines will be class locked by Legion and won't allow for customisation.
