Loop alien UFA tarp suspension

A brief explination of using loop aliens on my tarp
Guy outs are done exactly same as the second "tensioning" alien, which would also work very well for a tarp with seperate tie outs at each end

Yep, you're right. That was the first one i cut and it could deffo have stood being cut closer to the small eye, which is how i'v done the others since
the one in the vid has never slipped off but i wouldn't want it any further towards the medium eye

Thanks for the LoopAlien vids! I see the importance of the placement of the cut in the KoLA to prevent the line from slipping off when it's tensioned. Looks like you put the cut lined up with the medium eye. I am wondering if it it would help to put the notch even closer to the small eye than it is. Looks like the placement you chose makes it pretty easy to hold. Was the placement of the notch calculated?

yes it would work the same way, just a lot more of a fiddle having to pass a bite through the big hole and pulling the cord through
unless your tarp is in a snake skin (like mine in the vid) then a normal alien would be very difficult to use when its windy
