The video was very informative. I heard everything you said clear. And I enjoyed the analogy. People could really connect with that. My understanding with speakers are good, when it came to cars, but I didn't think it was that important with golf carts. You just reminded me that enclosure is matters no matter what. Thanks!
Thanks Juan! We take golf carts and audio serious, but we also have a sense of humor, so we're just doing our best to inform our audience and entertain them as well! Have a good one!
Sure enclosed is always better but some speakers do well free air and most of them are in the automotive and marine class. A rear deck of a car is just as much isolated as putting them in the body of a cart where the body has major cubic footage of volume before the back do the speaker can connect to the front. We’re taking golf carts here. Most people on golf carts are too drunk to care about sound quality.
Hey thanks for the comment! Yes, a marine sound system can sound great with free air speakers as long as you have a subwoofer that reaches mid-low frequencies. However, since there is such little space in a golf cart for a sub, any mid bass from a speaker is absolutely essential and if you don't enclose the speakers you're receiving zero mid bass from them. And yes, people are typically drunk on their golf carts lol but there are a lot of people out there that want to spend the money on a quality sound system with quality products and quality installation and that's the market we target.
Been a audiophile for over 40 years!! This video sounds more like an add for your boxes? Old school acoustic baffles on free air speakers don’t sound bad. This enclosed fact only pertains to lower frequencies!! You are also in an open atmosphere in a cart unlike a car!
Hey Dave! Sloan at BA Carts! We don't even sell our boxes so I can assure it's not an ad. The other half of our business is a 30year old audio business and we were one of the most successful Car audio businesses in the world (first perfect score in IASCA history), I only say that so you know we're not just golf cart guys messing around with audio lol. But to speak on specific terms, we have tried free air speakers in open environments versus speakers in an enclosure and it's not even comparable in terms of mid bass (enclosed speakers punch much harder). I understand the science of free air speakers but we've never heard any that sound better than speakers in an enclosure.
So if you turn your speaker sideways and move airspace apart...it sounds better? Lol...easy way to explain is all of the sound off back of speaker is out of phase with sound from front and cancels out that sound...lower the frequency the dramatic the cancellation is...still not sure what the Karate example was all about...lol

Audiophiles** not audio nerds. Us video nerds find that offensive... I'm a professional video nerd who ironically lives in Napoleon OH. btw Very informative and well put together video.... except for the constant sound track in the background. Bring it down a bit! I have a 5.2 system hooked up to my computer and I have to turn down the bass if I want to hear you speak...
Your off-beat background music is 1) too loud and 2) not the right choice for this video. I would reload the video without the off-beat background music. Without the Closed Captioning this would been an unwatchable video.
Sorry Bro you are wrong, you do not seem to have much more than rudimentary knowledge of acoustic theory. Sealed enclosures use the air as a spring for damping a speaker designed with that application in mind. With out the proper baffles and, or chambers the out of phase sound wave travels right out the cone and causes weird dips in the curve. Maybe pick up a copy of the "Loudspeaker Design Cook Book." there are even a few infinite baffle designs.
I'm 100% aware of infinite baffle speakers and subs out there, and we've tried probably 20 different "infinite baffle" speakers in golf carts by just drilling a hole and throwing the speakers in, and they all sounded terrible. And as soon as we'd throw them in an enclosure, they sound 1000X better. I do understand the science behind the infinite baffle setup but I've never seen it work well in a golf cart application.
I REALLY tried to make it through this video but the different background music totally made it impossible to hear you. Obviously you know what your doung but sadly I had turn off while watching the overhead portion. Sorry for negative comment
Apple 11plus max and no headphones. Seriously very informative and spot on from some shops I went to in NC. They pretty much confirmed everything you said

Thank you very much Bobby!

Not that good bc u can put open back speaker b&c for example and be good when u know u know n this guy don’t know anything 😂😂
Thanks for the The video, any input on putting the speaker box on the back side underneath the seat facing rear?
You should run a video with next level “nerdery”. Maybe not full fledged nerdness, but a little more.
🤣🤣🤣. If you knew how much time I spent a day focused on golf cart related things, you'd certainly classify me as a super nerd! 🤣
Love the knowledge and presentation of information. Background music was distracting and brought no value to the other wise wonderful video.

Will these work in the D5 Ranger?

Do you have and boxes that fits between seats for a 2020 Ezgo S4 elite gas
You can't install a box in between the seats on an EZGO because there is metal right there beneath the body.
Bro where are y’all located??
We are located on the Southside of Van Wert Ohio!
i shall call this a trip to hosiptal broke wrist hahahahahhahahaahaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Hey Jim! I appreciate the constructive criticism I will do my best to correct these mistakes in future videos!
What device were you watching the video on? Did you have headphones in? Thanks!
