    Well after a lot of thought and planning I decided to keep the txt dash the way it is. I’m going with a bazooka party bar and the storage areas will hold a gps speedo unit (it’s big, 85mm hole) I’m adding 2 spot led lights on the sides of the cart for copper head killing.
    May I ask did you use one reducer to reduce the entire battery pack to 12v ? My friend who’s gonna help me wire it is worried the wattages drawn will be too much for one reducer.

      I can't speak for this gentleman's nice cart, I have a 48 volt system with a voltage reducer, it has a 30 amp fuse which then runs to a distribution block for six circuits which power many many led strips and controllers, light bar tail lights headlights bluetooth speakers blah blah blah, I have never had any issues. 100% of the things that you see on the golf cart in this video, everything is powered, or LED which is very small current draw, on a 48 Volt to 12 Volt reducer you must have 48 volts on the input side for it to work correctly or at all, I would not be worried about it. You could take a multimeter to it and test the load and if you feel like the load is drawing too much, I would just run with a separate 12 Volt battery and charge it separately every night along with your regular battery pack.

    I am sitting here, amazed at how similar your cart is to mine! I used the same rocker switches but a smaller bank of 4. I also put the blue led lights in my cup holders on one switch, led lights in the storage on another switch, led lights below the cup holders that shine on your feet and also my front speaker’s grill lights on anothger switch, but then I put bright led lights on the dome, on the other switch. It just shocked me to see your cart! I like how you mounted the switches to the diamond plate though, and it made me think that I’ll do that as well. I wish I could send you a picture of how similar mine is. It’s shocking. Good job! (Go Jayhawks!)

    • @1afmxswarrior
      @1afmxswarrior  5 лет назад

      Believe it or not, I hook them up to a zombie light the shine super bright out the back and I rigged the golf cart with police lights on the front and back of the car. These police lights are awesome when we have speeders in the neighborhood!

    Besides this being an awesome installation, do you ever have problems with your stereo turning off? I have the same installation and my stereo turns off when I press on the gas, once I come to a full stop it turns back on

    • @1afmxswarrior
      @1afmxswarrior  4 года назад

      Thank you! No issues with the stereo system shutting off while driving but I have heard of people putting in a secondary voltage regulator dedicated purely to the stereo system because of the amp draw

    How did you do your hinged speaker doors and what stops them from flopping down

    • @1afmxswarrior
      @1afmxswarrior  6 лет назад

      darren binkley I cut them out of some very thin plywood (1/8th in thick) that I bought at Lowe's. And then I put two small hinges on the bottom of each panel and screwed them into the dash.

    • @1afmxswarrior
      @1afmxswarrior  5 лет назад

      Sorry for the late response! I took a Sawzall and cut out sections of the dash and use the diamond plate to mount the instrument panel. For the doors, I simply took a thin piece of plywood and cut the holes for the speaker and hinged the bottom

    Holy crap sir, I absolutely LOVE what you did!! I’m sorry but I’m gonna have to steal your idea on the switch panel-well basically everything electronic. Lol. I love gun metal but I’ll put mine in carbon fiber.
    One question though, I see the 12v gauge, so are the add ons on a separate battery? And if so, how do you charge it?
    Thanks!!

    you just running a voltage reducer or more than that?

    • @1afmxswarrior
      @1afmxswarrior  7 лет назад

      Yes there is a voltage regulator that Taps off the main batteries. That's what I use to run 12 volts to the rest of the cart. It's a 36 volt system

    • @bjbbiker
      @bjbbiker 6 лет назад

      Brenden Shaw so how is it switched? Are all those things off one panel and are you running an inline fuse?

    • @1afmxswarrior
      @1afmxswarrior  6 лет назад

      Barton Boma. I bought the panel off Amazon. There are a variety of choices with different numbers of panel switches that you can choose how many circuits you want to run. Each switch has an inline fuse.

    • @bjbbiker
      @bjbbiker 6 лет назад +1

      Brenden Shaw you wire it through the ignition?

    • @1afmxswarrior
      @1afmxswarrior  6 лет назад

      Barton Boma no I installed the voltage regulator in the battery box area andtapped off of that to run 12 volts up to the dash. I routed it by going underneath the cart and trying to keep everything nice and clean I just zip-tied it and used that corrugated plastic that split down the middle which makes for professional-looking wire bundles.

    i have a gas powered cart. can i use a car audio battery by itself and just charge it at the end of the day? and if i do that how long do you think it'll last with a 300 watt amp?

    • @floridadragonslayer
      @floridadragonslayer 6 лет назад

      That is a very dynamic question, meaning the efficiency of the amp, the actual draw of the music you listen to, the ohms of the speakers... Best thing you can do is test it out with a multi meter down to 11.8 volts and stop.
