@@wickedsmartgolf While I listened to the remainder of this awesome show, I learned so much. Going to align wedges to my right big toe, will try my best to play golf, not play swing. This show was RICH with ideas. Many thanks Mr Wicked Smart!! - Woody

Ok couldn’t the tip be: use gps or scope the pin, hit the shot then you’ll know your distances?
Ya just do this. I think only real beginners don’t know their distances. Anyone who’s played with any amount of seriousness will know their distances

It’s shocking how many golfers overestimate how far they hit their clubs

This only works if you shoot 5 shots. Most guys that deploy this tactic are only scooting their career best 7 iron that was downwind and out of a flyer lie.
Also doesn’t work with range balls either as they tend to fly 15% less the distance of a premium ball.
On a perfect day drop 5 balls …reject the best and worst then see how far average went.

I play Torrey weekly and with a variety of players…. It’s really only scratch players or better that take enough club or know their true yardage.
Nothing wrong then being ten feet past hole vs 10 feet under the hole in a sand trap and you can’t see the flag
