I met Keanu about 6 years ago at the premier of the Matrix movie in NYC. I worked at the movie theater as a make artist and costume designer. The entire night, I saw all the stars in the movie come and go without any of them looking at me or saying hello to me, perhaps because of my color and the cheap uniform 1 had on. For 6 years, I have never forgotten the event that will follow the first few hours after I begun my shift at work that evening. Keanu walked up to me and asked me how I was doing!! I said to myself "are you really talking to me?" Believe it or not, he actually came up to me and showed compassion and care. That was the last thing I ever expected anyone to do that evening. He proceed to ask me about my job and where I come from. And I told him I was from Oregon and have been working at the theater for about a year. He chatted with me for about 5 mins but it felt like forever. He then gave me a hug I will never forget. He is truly a good human being. I don't usually leave comments on YT but this is to confirm this video. Keanu is good❤

I'm not even sure it is a choice one makes consciously. I know that It never felt right being mean to people because of the hell I went through growing up. However, others may not have it so lucky. The mind is weird that way.

Mr. Reeves is, without a doubt, the best celebrity since we lost Robin Williams. We need more people like these two, who are down to earth. Human. Relatable, and above all else, friendly. They don't treat you like you're lesser because of their fame, they treat you like a person. There were times when celebrities understood that signing a picture etc. makes the day for the fans. And it is not that much work.
However, today many "fans" are not grateful but demanding. They never stop or they sell signed pictures etc.

You got the wrong idea. Nice people don't have any reason to be nice, they are just nice.
Keanu is not being nice in order to have fans. He is nice all the time. He is nice when camera’s not around. Look at the clips captured on randoms people’s phone. Think how many more kind actions are not captured.

We both had cars in the race and we talked about 20 minutes Being such a sought after clebrity with a very busy schedule, I was very grateful that he took the time to talk with a complete stranger. He is a very nice and kind man who gives back to soo many people. It's too bad more famous people don't treat people like Keanu does. Hats off to you, fine Sir.

Keanu Reeves and Ryan Reynolds are two celebrities I have the utmost respect for. Just two wholesome, chill guys who love what they do and love their fans. Ryan Reynolds even sent my step-dad a personalized birthday message just because my mom asked him nicely to.

There are tons of friendly, helpful, caring people in the world. But a lot of times if you are NOT famous and you try to help, people will assume you're a creep or you're actually trying to cause trouble.
I have a bunch of tattoos from my time in the military, so the reactions I get from strangers entirely depends on whether I'm dressed in a button-down and slacks or if I'm dressed in a tank top and gym shorts.
I've had families cross the street so that they wouldn't cross paths with me, and I'm a small dude 🙄
I donate to charities, volunteer at an animal rescue, and I'm starting my own business. But people only see what's on the outside 💯

When I visit the USA, people seem surprised whenever I hold doors for others and thank them. But I do meet some Americans just as nice as me.
I think Keanu Reeves understands that he is a person many look up to. Being a public figure, if you want people to be good to people you a person people look up to must uphold the standard you wish everyone would uphold.

I can just see in him how absolutely grateful he is to be where he's at in his career and just in his life. He's had a lot of heartbreaks and tragedies in his life and he just has a natural innate tendency to connect with people. Honest jealous how well he connects with people because I am the opposite, I have a very hard time seeing people as people and that they too are going through the same things every human being has to. I kinda see them as NPCs but it isn't my fault, I just have a hard time caring and empathizing with other people. Would love to hang out with Keanu Reeves to have that personality of his come off onto me.

My favourite thing was an interview that showed how human Reeves is. They were asking about his career, his generosity to crews, his anonymous donations to charity etc, and he looked so awkward and nervous, but he was polite and engaging.
They then asked about his love of motorcycles and Arch, the company he had, at the time, just founded. And his face lit up. I’m a biker myself and so recognised this passion.
The guy doesn’t care about public recognition or praise, he’s just a guy trying to do his best and enjoy his passions and that humbleness is what makes him so great.
He is THE role model on how to be. He’s a “guys guy” with his love of bikes etc, but he is also kind, generous, considerate and just a generally fabulous human being and is in my eyes a literal saint.
