  • In the Spring 2024 over-the-air update (version 2024.14.x), Tesla introduced cabin filter monitoring. This change in the service menu is monitoring the health of the cabin filters and the HEPA filters (if your car has those).
    Tesla recommends replacing the cabin filters every 2 years on vehicles without the HEPA filter (Model 3 and older Model S, Y) and every 3 years on vehicles with the additional HEPA filter (Model Y, Model X and new Model S). With this monitoring in the service menu, you can now at least get a guide of the health of your filters before you embark on replacing them.

    Do you know if the screen at 0:40 shows actual fluid levels? I can’t find the coolant bottle under the top cover, how do I check coolant levels?!?

      So it’s under the HEPA filter cover + its ducting. Not a check every other month thing 🤣

    While this is interesting information, i'm not sure exactly how useful it is at this point. I just checked on my 2022 model 3 LR with 38k KM on it, and it shows 98%, so I'm not sure how Tesla calculates it. My first thought was it's based on airflow calculated by the motor current draw, but then i also saw in the service mode you have the option to click on the filter and "reset the counter", so it must at least to some degree also be based on time.
    It would be interesting to see if this percentage changed anything at all if you either installed a very dirty/clogged filter and used it for like a week or so without resetting the counter (or went from a very dirty filter to a brand new one) - or if it's really just a timer-based counter.

    Is there a cabin filter and a HEPA filter together? I did not know this.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 месяца назад +1

      They are two separate things. The HEPA filter (on the Model Y) is under the bonnet and is huge! The Model Y also still has cabin filters inside, just like the Model 3 and all other vehicles.

      Tesla doesn't have dealers. You buy online direct from Tesla.

    Don't need all this software bollocks . . . And why are all you battery boys allowed to interface with iPad screens while driving?

    • @n900video
      @n900video 3 месяца назад

      It's not a battery boy thing. Look at any other new car today. They all plastered with screens and every little function is hidden three menus deep. You can be mad at Tesla for starting this trend but at least their software is way better than the one you find on most legacy cars.

    You would be a little more clever too if you could be more relevant in stating exactly which version of Tesla software update you’re referring to rather than just simply stating “ Spring Update “? We get updates so often like every week or fortnight.

      @GoGreenAutos  3 месяца назад +4

      I did in the video description. But the "Spring update" was a big one, which included the new UI as I said in the video.

      @@jacobheinz8236 I said 2024.14.x because I had the major update over a month ago on version 3 from memory. Tesla then stopped rolling it out and have done 3 updates since with bug fixes. So many people have missed some of these versions and only got this major update with later versions and many in the last few days. If I would have said 2023.14.3, for most in the UK this wouldn't have applied. I don't understand why you're arguing over this.
