Hi Rick and Pauline what a great idea having a train club in a shopping centre wife goes shopping and we can stand and look at trains lovely great video thank you 👍
Hello, The American Steam locomotive at 24:28 is the Former Southern Pacific Daylight locomotive 4449 it was pulled from Oaks Park in Portland OR on December 14,1974 to begin restoration to pull the American Freedom Train, 4449 was the locomotive of choice to pull the AFT through the west and south because of the locomotive's clean lines, large size, and pulling power (especially at speed) made it the perfect candidate for the AFT, looking very smart in the American Freedom Train Paint scheme which does look very similar to the Amtrak Colours hope this information helps you Kind Regards, Tom
Fantastic video, Rick and Pauline! There may be bigger clubs or busier clubs, but I can't think of a club in a cooler location. That is a beautiful mall... what a splendid place to see some trains. In a perfect world, there would be a model train shop next to it. Oh well. Beautiful layouts and models abounded! Great tour!
Hi Anthony, clubs are located in a wide range of locations here. We have them in mills, church halls, industrial units, factories, heritage railways, old churches, community centres and now a mall. Definitely a nice place to visit. All the best Rick
What a great place to have a model railway club, I would never get my grandson out of there, and he'd probably want to film it to put on his model railway channel 🙂👍
Interesting, was this an exhibition in an empty shop in the mall, sort of pop up exhibition? Also a welcome idea for all the other shops there as it will attack people. I love the Fred Dibnah theme, that would also be a good idea for your layout Rick. The "Red Baron" Manfred Von Richthoven was the Germans pilot name you where looking for. Anyway thanks for the entertaining video. Cheers, Danny
Hi Danny, is the permanent home of the Bolton Model Railway Society and this was an open day/show. It is great they are based there and far better for everyone than the unit being empty. Good for Pauline as well as there is a sweet shop nearby. Thanks for watching Rick
if you know you know , but the pigeon on freds head is reference to a real event , he dropped his cap into pigeon s**t and ended up with an infection ,, great video saw me sneak in once or twice
Hi Rick, how did you get Pauline to move from the layout with all the blue Kellogg vans! I expect to see them on your layout soon. Could I just add I had the old plastic Triang track, some50 years ago! Harry

Thanks very much Clive, I think the location pleases everyone!
What a great venue. So many great layouts and amazing people. Fantastic. 🎉🎉 many n gauge fit in small spaces. And a cafe to boot.
Thanks for watching Paul.
That's something you don't see that often, a model railway society in a market place, it's a great idea.
It works really well for all involved and must create a lot of passing interest.
Unusual venue but it's paid off for them. Thanks both.
Cheers Andy, the location definitely works.
Great video Rick and Pauline and what an amazing location.
Thanks very much Deano

Hi Harry, by saying we would buy some! I thought I had the blue Kellogg's vans but we haven't got any. Cheers Rick
surprised that that war of the world layout is still intact, as the frame of those layouts looked really flimsy during filming
It might have had some renovation but nice to see it. All the best Rick
Is it open on a Sunday at all
Would love to visit but Sunday is my only day off
Traveling from Blackpool you see
Hi Dion, this was an open day/show so your best bet would be to give them a ring or email them. Cheers Rick
