Loved this duet. It's been said that Jimmy's voice is the male version of Tina's voice....and vice versa lol Loved the reaction too. Really enjoying your discovery of our Aussie talents...at some stage I'd love to see you react to a few of Guy Sebastian and Matt Corby songs ..
You are so right with the sports/exercise/combat references. This song was used to promote rugby league in Australia. There were promotional videos around it and they sung it at the grand finals. As others have suggested, "Good Times" by Jimmy Barnes and INXS is another great collaboration/duet. Jimmy does great duets. You also need to hear him singing with Ian Moss in Cold Chisel ("Bow River" and "When the War is Over" [both live in 2003] are both songs where they share vocals). Do also check out "Wild Thing" from the Last Stand with early Cold Chisel. It's got Jimmy on lead, but Ian takes over for a little bit when needed. You need to see it to believe it, the performance is insane. 😁
This is a relatively recent use of the song to promote rugby league (it's the Tina Turner only version of the song though). I love the emphasis on the kids at the start of this video. ruclips.net/video/MmQFNNrVzO0/видео.html
Another great jimmy barnes duet is “good times” with INXS..I love it in the live version when Michael Hutchinson (RIP) lead singer of INXS looks at jimmy with such awe.
Not at all being rude, I assumed every American knew Tina, she’s American. I remember her from about the 1960s - when we still had black and white TV here. Ike and Tina Turner and the Ikettes. My Aussie children know who she is - well your probably younger than my 3 children, so it’s understandable . She’s a powerhouse. Oh and our Jimmy is brilliant - a perfect singing duo, Love the song
If you haven't heard of INXS ( pronounced IN excess ) before, they're another iconic legendary band from the 80s. Mr charisma, who just oozed sexuality, Michael Hutchence was lead singer, but sadly the world lost his outstanding talent when he died in awful circumstances. Anyway, he teamed up with Jimmy Barnes, and other Aussie singers who are the background singers, who did a concert all together, called Australian Made in 1987. This is the version that has the best audio that I could find. This will be another add to your playlist, trust me lol INXS~Good Times~Jimmy Barnes~Australian Made 1987
Good Times with Jimmy and INXS featured on the movie and soundtrack of The Lost Boys… This song originated from The Easybeats, Aussie band from the 60’s….
Nice to see your appreciation of my favourite artist, Jimmy. I agree that Jimmy and Tina sound great together, but Jimmy sings with a lot of different artists and he just knows how to make it work, cause he is such a superstar
Tina and Ike Turner where big in America. But Ike use to bash the shit out of Tina. So Australia gladly adopted here. She’s ours now. And we are happy to have her. Jimmy and Tina are both ledgends
GOOD TIMES is a good collaboration between Jimmy Barnes and Michael Hutchence. It’s technically Jimmy and INXS but it feels like a duet and has that “two legends” vibe. I’d go the music video for that one as it’s fun and has high energy chaotic footage.
Jimmy and Tina what else could be better eh. Jimmy also sings a song called Mustang Sally which I think you would love. Also try John Farnham singing a cover of It's a Long Way to the Top with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra bought out originally by ACDC. Jimmy and John do another song together called When The War is Over, also great Live.

Jimmy gives this song Street Cred. Jimmy is also the king of duets. Cold Cold Heart with Smokey Dawson. Bird on a Wire with Troy Cassar Daly. Songs with his children. He released a double CD of duets about 15 or so years ago.
Jimmy wrote or said something about being a young teenager 13 or 14 and catching the train into Adelaide, sneaking in through the back door of a theatre, pushing his way to the front of the crowd and standing at Tina's feet while she sung the concert. So this would have been a bit of a moment for him. The song was used for the National Rugby League, football promotions, so yes a song about gladiators. lol There is a moment around 5 seconds after 4:25 where Jimmy hits a note and Tina smiles and gives a thumbs up at the camera, I think someone said it was an E5 or something.
