I had tutorials with Palestinian scholars and diplomats who had lived in Gaza. I have never been more aware of how privileged I was, to have had a factual and humanitarian education, and to have gone to a university where I could discuss the realities of apartheid and colonialism without fear or censorship. It seems that most American universities provide the opposite experience entirely, where the focus is on propaganda and regurgitating lies rather than true scholarship and moral principles.
