    My Church uses a Telecoil Loop which my Hearing Aids have built in. It makes a fantastic difference to the clarity and ease of hearing!

    Back in the 90s in my congregation in the UK we used to get about 90 to the meetings. We had one elderly member who really struggled to hear. He tried a loop system in another location and was overjoyed at the differnce it made. So we installed one in our Kingdom hall just for him. It was quite inexpensive to install and worked really well. Money well spent to help our beloved congregation member. One unexpected result was that it still worked in the toilets. He was the only person that could hear the service when heeding a call of nature.

    Thank you so much! I was just at a church last weekend and I was not able to hear at all.😢😢I do wear hearing aids.
    This video is so timely for me as I am due for my hearing aid update in March! I use Oticon More 1! My life is much better with it as I have moderate hearing loss!
    Very thankful for all you do to teach us to be informed patients!☮️🙏🏽

    I got my first hearing aids about a year ago. A week later on of the pastors got up to deliver the sermon and I thought "great, the mumbler." I leaner forward a bit to try to listen harder, and suddenly realized that I could hear him quite well, thanks to my new hearing aids!

    As they have always made an excellent video, these suggestions will be useful for all branches of Christianity, both Catholic and Protestant churches. Although in Protestant churches there is greater volume because apart from using piano they use musical instruments such as guitar and electric bass and drums, etc.

    I have trouble with worship. The hearing aids are great for the sermons, but make worship intolerable especially since I also have tinnitus. I found I need to bring ear plugs like the musicians use during worship then I switch them out for my hearing aid to hear the sermon 😊🤷

    I am curious when Auracast will be available. I would love to set my church up with a transmitter, but can't find anything online. Also I have worn hearing aids for 40 years and I'm excited about this technology.

      You're probably looking at 1+ years before it becomes a thing. I will be at the Consumer Electronics Show in early January and will find out more info.

    Due to the pandemic, most religious ceremonies i attended went to RUclips. The problem with RUclips is the lack of social interaction. I do have telecoils in all my devices but have not been able to find many locations where a loop is available. I know that loops are more readily available abroad. And some public venues like airports and doctors offices and a few banking establishments have loop systems available locally. However, some venues such as small auditoriums no longer have functioning loop systems. This is happening in older local venues where the loop is in disrepair and economic times are often the reason. Also, venues are hesitant to keep equipment in working order because there aren’t enough people requesting to use assistive listening devices. I always contact the venue in advance of my arrival to make sure their devices are in working order and batteries are charged and that someone there knows how the system works. I do have my own assistive listening devices and find positioning always a good idea in any venue. I am hoping to get something better next year.

    Please, I have had tinnitus for 6 months. Will there be headphones that hide my tinnitus and protect me from loud noises? Kind regards.

    • @eaglewhite3107
      @eaglewhite3107 7 месяцев назад

      Yes. I have been using hearing aids with a tinnitus suppression program that functions at all times. They're a bit old but work. In a recent visit to my audiologist, I learned that there are some major improvements made. Rechargeable batteries, cell phone communication that is heard directly in your hearing aids, TV and more. The best part is they are thousands of dollars less than what mine cost new.

      @@eaglewhite3107 Thanks for answer me, where could I get it and what brands do they come from? Do you have to use them forever or is it only temporary? Very kind.

      @@Henochmiro12 My hearing aids are the RESOUND brand. Like I said they're old but work well. I have had tinnitus for more years than I can recall. Find a nearby audiologist. You might want to see other "Dr Cliff" videos to find a nearby audiologist that follows "Best Practices". That way you get the best possible care and outcome.

      ~30-34% of Americans attend religious services on a weekly basis. Making it one of the most frequented public venue in the United States. Based on this, I would say that church services are the MOST relevant type of example that we could have possibly used.

    • @jeffreyantell7117
      @jeffreyantell7117 7 месяцев назад

      @@DrCliffAuD perhaps more relevant places would be restaurants, concert halls, theaters etc. These venues are more frequented and oftentimes present difficult hearing environments. However, nice to know where you apparently believe people spend their time!
