  • Mangroves provide essential habitat and coastline protection but are under threat. In addition to deforestation, climate change is altering mangrove forest habitats and causing important consequences for marine organisms and the humans who rely on them for sustenance and economic stability. MarineGEO scientists are studying mangrove expansion due to warming winters and the threats to this valuable ecosystem.
