Well, I think the idea behind the Premiere feature is not bad. I think most people are just very annoyed by how RUclips shoves it into your face. So if that ever changes, please consider using it again because I very much like the idea coming together to watch a new video.
@Jeremy Yanofsky RUclips Premieres (yeah it's plural apparently) is a way for content creators to "schedule a video upload and to create buzz around the video with a shareable watch page." (dixit Google) Except these videos are in the middle of your subscriptions, when they should have a specific tab all for themselves. Also some content creators set some _crazy_ delays, defeating the purpose of Premieres to create a place of discussion for viewers and content creators. Also I've yet to see a content creator participating in the pre-premiere discussions. So yeah, an ok idea poorly executed.
Seriously, I found you guys about 6 weeks back and since then I bought Concordia and Lowlands and I have watched most of your RUclips videos and listened to a fair chunk of your podcasts. Please don’t stop! The best thing I found on the internet in ages!
6:37 - OK, I have two questions. 1) How many takes were required to pull this off without one or both of you bursting out laughing immediately after the simultaneous "oooooh!"? 2) Did you pull out a different card, with a different fact, on each of those takes?
You fellas are incredible. This has such high production values, such brilliant banter, all within an inclusive and quirky format. I use this as my banter-Conduit back to the UK as I now live in the netherlands. Can't thank you enough for both the information on new boardgames (which structures my new and burgeoning collection) but also giving such a great Internet hug to a lost brit overseas. You bloody beautiful people.
When Matt said they were going to end with a "special treat", I thought he was going to give us some bizarre animal-themed recipe and made a happy gasp. Still a great outro tho
This seems somewhat similar to the game Red Flags where everyone takes on the role of setting your best friend up with a date. But each date is given a 'red flag' by the player to the right. Thus you get the awkward situation of trying to convince your friend to date this girl/boy who, while being a hot barista with the most gorgeous smile, is also constantly trying to pee on you?
It seems a few of their suggestions (the animal facts on the cards and the longer events where you play multiple cards) ended up in the second edition, so they've now got even more reason to suggest it!
Hello guys, you are as amazing as ever, i was in "Essen Speil 2018" with a friend and it was something special, haven't seen you there :( would love to see you there! so many games to try, so little time to do it! it's worth the time but a lot of games! in the end i missed lot of games, can you can add information about specific two , The first one was the game called Heropath, we actually ignored this game but the game was on our list especially with all the different modes this games offers, it quite a shame ... and the second game is Teotihuacan: City of Gods
I bought the core game of Heropath and I tried both the solo mode and the competitive mode with my brother. It actually was a lot of fun! Now I'm very curious to play the team and co-op mode.. maybe you can show it in a review? Is t also fun to play?
This reminds me of a stripped down Chimera Isle (boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/94586/chimera-isle), which is a good thing, since Chimera Isle always felt like maybe it had a few too many mechanics bolted onto a single game. Also, Chimera Isle has been out of print for a long time, so bringing its marquee mechanic back to the main stream is another positive.
I am not a fan of these games. I can see the appeal but in general these kinds of games where you make a bid as to who would win always end up in more of an argument than anything, even with the facts backing you up in this case. It also doesn't have the same broad appeal of something like Codenames or Decrypto which can be pretty much played by anyone. This is one of those games which requires the right kind of people to play and I think there are many better games out there that could be used in moments where this game 'could' emerge from the collection.
Liked after the first 30 seconds of explaining how you want to play longer games, but find yourself playing social games when introducing games to your friends.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO TELL DREAMS AND MAKE IT COOL! you just gotta pre-edit so it's only the cool parts and you cut out the "it was my mom, or maybe my neighbor? and also my sister" LIE, REDUCE, IF IT WOULDN'T WORK AS A SURREAL SHORT STORY DON'T TELL IT a denouement especially helps dreams with a twist ending are easier to adapt to "no bullshit" retellings I"M JUST SAYIN
it's also extreeemely funny when Matt is implying Quinns is an overbearing overtalkative player in games and Quinns is basically unable not to grin SHOUT OUT TO MY OVERBEARING OVERTALKATIVE PLAYERS
please sue the animal that created the nest on your head :p (should be funny not insulting ^^ as im maybe just not able to feel myself into having such hair awesomeness!) besides that i love your videos (and im not even from england or great britain ^^) started watching 5 weeks ago when i found you. and i bought xwing 2.0 and i fell in love with it, thanks for the great review! Keep doing your thing! And i guess arkham horror card game will be next ^^
So the whole purpose of the game is essentially to give a wacky topic for you and your friends to talk/argue over. And the fun of the game is that interaction with your friends. Okay. Let me ask you this though: Why should I spend money on a board game that is essentially a conversation topic generator, when I can just use my phone to go to the superpowers wiki, go to a half dozen random pages, assign 3 powers each to two heroes, and then we all discuss who would win in a fight? Because that seems like the same kind of fun arguing that this game seems to offer, but it's free and requires zero table space and... yeah.
I can't stress enough how much this game isn't for everyone, I'm not even sure who it's for apart from animal nerds. It fell flat when we played with a group of eight. The euro gamers hated it cause there's no strategy, I hated it cause I didn't know anything about my animal, other people hated it cause they couldn't deal with how confrontational it was. It's a nice idea but it just doesn't work. It'll always be won by the best animals, full stop, and not even the best debaters can argue about that. Just please, look elsewhere for your party games as this was just horrible!
" It'll always be won by the best animals, full stop" - But, you have to enter the same animal into all 3 rounds - so there likely won't be a "best animal" as what's good at running, might not be good at smashing up a shed, a singing competition or stacking on top of each other. Therefore there's also a lot of value in not coming last. However, if you're fixated on "winning" in the first place, this likely isn't for you - this really is a case of it's the taking part that counts, and winning is a bonus.
@@DurbsBT I fully admit that this game isn't for me. What I'm saying however is that the group of people who it is for is a lot smaller than would seem from watching this review. Nice artwork though.
The people have spoken! We will not use RUclips's Premiere feature ever again. Thanks for the feedback!
I thought it was a livestream?

Eh, I didn't mind. What were people complaining about? It was just like a regular video, but slightly more exciting as I look forward to your reviews.

Ok, the Bebop horse bit got me. Well done.
I died!
rip my sides

Its quite simple .. Quinns just talks and talks and talks until his throat is sore and then he carries a little hoarse around all day

Happy to see Sir Paul featured at the end of the video! Bearly on camera but still
I was looking specifically for this kind of comment and found it!
I guess every channel will try Premier at least once, even though eveyone's bothered by it.

Poor Xxcha, you did a good job in that hide and seek round. Don't let that money grubbing Hacan tell you otherwise.
Is it weird that I want a "YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT HORSE." shirt now?
When Matt said they were going to end with a "special treat", I thought he was going to give us some bizarre animal-themed recipe and made a happy gasp. Still a great outro tho
Will there be rules for solo play?
The most important question is, where can I buy that awesome turtle mask?
That bad sandwich is so disturbing that I’ve watched the first30 seconds 3 times now and still haven’t listened to what you are saying 😱
Surely one of the most unfortunate and visually-arresting sausages I've ever had the misfortune of not being able to un-see.
Michael Greene or is it a carrot. Oh god what is it?
@@catherinetaylor2014 OMG...
Michael Greene 😂
Yep let’s hope it’s natural and not man made

"nobody cares about your dreams" ha!
Hard and fast like a bad sandwich? The more I think about it the less sense it makes
really really like the light sweep over the cards!
I can’t believe I missed this video, and I was sold within just over 2 minutes. To the Christmas list with you, game!
"a wasp in a hotdog eating contest. A whale on a slip and slide"... Mathew lees.
u need say no more
Is this the most technically accomplished SU&SD review video to date? This one is so nice. I love what you quietly achieved here.
Ok so I’ve got past bad sandwich - “Next event... fast jumping” 😂
"nobody cares about your dreams".....mood
only just noticed the You're gonna carry that horse. end gag XD
I care about Quinns' dreams.
YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT HORSE
Pity the poor sod who picked the Blue Whale! XD
1:30 anyone get the reference? anyone? just me? guys? help
Check out Cool Ghosts. It's a callback to a joke from episode 1 or 2.

Just recently found the cool ghosts channel from a non-board game related source and love it. Are there any other channels like them I'm missing?
the homage to Cowboy Bebop at the end was pretty funny

I quite like the premier feature. I just wish YT displayed it in a less deceptive way.
Also nice integration of lighting guys!

This game really could use a deck of "info" cards... it would help people who don't have much inventive on what these animals can do.
I assume the fun in that comes from BSing and seeing if people realise
So now that Paul has moved on, and Quinns is dead, does that mean this is Matt's channel?

Make a review where you pretend that a deck of magic the gathering cards is a board game, and only use board game terminoligy
