The dude is a driver. Ever since he started racing ruby, his instant commentary while in the shut down with chutes out and going well over 100 MPH is priceless. The dude knows his shit and is one hell of a driver. Don’t get me wrong, cletter can drive santa’s sled though Monaco faster than Max Verstapin, but James need the Cred for being one hell of a racer.
James has been at it for a long time!!!
You need to remember, James is the one who grew up drag racing; the others are relative newcomers to the sport whereas James has been doing it since he was a teenager.

I'm glad the boys are doing these shakedown test sessions before hitting the road when it really counts. The McFlurry project has been so much fun to watch, I'm enjoying living vicariously through what this crew is doing! Sam's new Supra is so beautiful, it's obvious he's been detailing and shining that girl up better than she's ever been! Love it!!!

Not just cause I'm a Ford guy but i think McFlurry is becoming my favorite car. Its just simple thrown together and it works.
I wouldn't call it simple or thrown together. It's a $18,000 crate engine mounted to what is probably a $10-$15,000 transmission. And with the turbos and everything else, it's got probably well over $50k put into it. It would be more shocking if it wasn't fast. Ruby has been the real test of what can come from throwing simple, old, and used parts together to make an absolute beast of a car.

a bit like a model T its the ford way.
@@54raceman well technically if they did the exact same mods to a c5 it would take triple if not more time to get to this point. foxbody's are just built different. it's outstanding even considering all the mods they done to it. they're great mechanics, especially with tie fabricating, but they don't have that much experience with tuning, let alone a ford on an haltech, yet after just a bunch of runs the car was already going 7's.
It must be a awesome feeling to break something and laugh it off because you have money and your own shop and crew to fix it. But Cleetus sure worked his ass off for it

It's all you can do when you're trying to dial in a car. Every race team that is successful has broken many parts they could afford or not afford, but it has to be done!
It's not about having the money to fix it (at this level yes). But it's more about having the ability to laugh when shit breaks. Cleet did this at the grassroots level even before a budget existed. You won't make it far in motorsport/automotive if you can't cop it on the chin really.
Broken parts are fixable. Only would be worried if leads to a crash with injury.
Well crying ain’t gonna fix the problem so why not have a good mindset about it.

Sam is literally the definition of age is just a number. He deserves that car and I’m happy to see him and all you guys happy. When I’m 80 if I don’t have a Supra then I’ve failed 😂. I’ve actually been looking into importing one because that’s been my dream car since I was a kid, fully built 2j with a fat single turbo makin at least a thousand wheel but I’ve been looking for months and I can’t find the right spec that I want that isn’t 60-70k but I’ll have one one day

Y'all know what makes a truly great driver stand above a very good one? It's the ability to tell his crew exactly what a car is doing out there and it's not something all drivers have. Ask any F1 or NASCAR team boss and he/she will tell you that the ability to communicate what is happening on the track is the most important skill a driver can have. It's not something that can be taught (not entirely anyway), it's something that just comes naturally and James has it in spades.
For me (and many others) it's the hardest part of racing, for ole' Jackstand it just comes without effort and that is invaluable when ringing those last few 10ths out of a car/bike/boat/whatever.
I wanna see McFlurry with a whole new clean up, with paint and everything good😂😩

It has a chassis that’s is more than capable of 6’s it’s just a matter of getting the power from the motor and keeping it hooked
cleetus should make the foxbody a 6sec car on 275s and finally put big tires on mullet to chase 5sec

My husband came home a couple days ago and shared one of your videos with me. It was Mullet’s Fastest Pass. That was EPIC with the horse by the way!
The funny thing is that my husband also has a race car that he recently got back running after it sat outside in the elements for over 10yrs.
I’m talking about new lexan, fluids, lines, wiring, etc. It’s an all metal 71 Camaro, aftermarket cowl, original rear glass window bracket car. She squats and gets!
He has never named the car and when we were talking about naming it, I suggested Mullet, simply because he rocked an EPIC mullet in high school and I was even gonna glue a mullet on his helmet when he drove! 😂
When he came home from work that day before he showed me your video, he said, “We can’t name the car Mullet, babe!”. I said, “And why not?”. Then he showed me the video. I have to say, we have sat out on our porch swing and watched tons of your videos and we really enjoy them, you, and the other guys.
Which brings me to my online experience…. I bought my husband a shirt for Father’s Day because he loves you guys, but I do too and there’s 1 item that I see for women, and it’s a onzie for a baby.

I have a 96 Mustang. I have the very first plastic intake. OG 4.6, 250k miles and still strong (but honestly still kinda slow). Had to replace the intake at 100k because the coolant runner which was also originally plastic failed. Dealer sold me a new intake but the coolant crossovers were aluminum. Honestly, these days there is nothing wrong with a good fiber reinforced nylon. Delrin is amazing stuff too.

McFlurry 60 footing harder then mullet is crazy. The fleet is getting fast!!!
Mullet has been a 1.10 in the 60 foot so McFlurry isn't quite there yet. But overall still very impressive.

I've always been a fan of axle mount anti-roll bars - but, man, that's a good example of one of their cons, you're often welding the chassis side end link tabs to a unibody/sheet metal. Time to beef up those chassis mounts!
