I’m always impressed with how hard Tyler works to keep things nice. I have ADHD and maintaining my house is something I struggle with. To see Tyler so focused and working hard to get stuff done is sometimes awe inspiring to me. 😂
Tyler was born to be a “dad” he’s just great telling all of us how to keep everything spic and span 😊 Also the garden footage gave me quarantine/Covid time vlog flashbacks 😂
OMG when she said Hi and daddy it warmed my heart. Tyler your such an amazing person, you actually change into work cloths, not my hubby, he says he forgets after he’s done ruining what he had on and it’s usually something new I had just bought him. Jessica your one lucky lady, Tyler can do everything, repairs, installations, lighting, doors, cook, clean, shampoo carpets, is there anything he can’t do😂😂, you have to love his enthusiasm ❤❤
Such a breath of fresh air to see a long Braun vlog ♥️ anyone else just wish we could borrow Tyler for a week for husband duties?! 😭😂 Such a great partnership between you two. Beautiful family & always such great content.
Omg I was not expecting that little hi from Felicity 😂. ***Also avoid Trex and TimberTech! My husband and I own our construction company and we've done a few Trex decks and one dock and we couldn't even handle the stuff without gloves because it actually burns your skin it gets so hot. Just get sample board and leave it out you'll see. I wish I was joking. We warned customers, they said eventually they were putting covers or awnings up but in the meantime you cannot walk on it barefoot, it's worse than regular deck boards. I get the easier cleaning maintenance of it but it makes your space hotter and if you're concerned with little ones being on hot boards they get insanely hot. I thought I wanted Trex for our house but I will never do it now after those few installations we did.
I know what you mean. When it came out it was like lava in the sun, but the newer Trex doesn’t get super hot. We just redid our deck and have not had that burning feet problem at all.
Pellet vs Green Egg: We love our pellet smoker for convenience. The fact that you don’t have to stay on top of the fire has been nice when my husband wants to do an overnight smoke. He thinks it’s the best route for beginners because the pellets take the guess work out of maintaining a fire so you can focus on the meat. He’s also found ways to add more smoke flavor with using our hybrid charcoal grill first. Either way, smoking meat is so fun and it opens up a whole new world of cooking! 😁👍🏻
I always suggest supporting local small business garden centers for plants and supplies. You will get better quality plant material and better guidance, such as advising against planting aborvitae in pots etc. Coming from a family owned garden center family ❤👍
I miss Tyler’s old garden videos. This was a fun and educational video Tyler, great job. Everything looks beautiful. I love that new rug you guys got, it looks so good with your blue planters.
Tyler needs to do more of these blogs. I learn so much and enjoy the variety of home, garden, and cooking. I hope I can make the camp potatoes in the oven because I don't have a grill. Tyler also reminds me of my dad when he was young and spent his weekends gardening, working outside, and bar-b-queuing. Must be our midwestern backgrounds!
@Tyler Your camp potatoes are similar to our family’s “packet potatoes.” Basically the same seasoning, how you prepare the foil and grill it but we always add bell pepper and onion. Sooo good. And you’re totally right, reheats so well. We love making dippy eggs and putting them over the potatoes with a dash of hot sauce the next morning.
Wow, Tyler, all that hard work really paid off- the deck looks great!!!! And those potatoes- yum!!!! Jess, the flowers you planted are beautiful!!! The colors are so pretty! Great job, you two!! 👏👏👏
As far as smoker goes, I cant say enough good things about Traeger. When we bought it we made a commitment to use it at least once a week and we’ve had it for 4 years now and still do! It’s so easy to use/user friendly and everything is always AMAZING! Ribs, brisket, tri tip, chicken, everything! Amazing!
I think it’s time to paint the table and chairs in a high gloss external paint - very hamptons vibes - get a glass top made for it and call it a day 😂😂😂
I’m sure you know this since you refinish the wood every year, but a friendly reminder to not leave any rags sitting around with wood oil on it, especially if a high concentration of linseed or flaxseed oil. It oxidizes and can spontaneously combust if left open to air, i.e in a pile in the garage etc. We had a friend whose house burnt down due to wood oil combusting. Loved the productive Braun vlog!!!
My family grew up with camp potatoes too! We’re Hispanic lol, so we chop the potatoes a little larger and use raw bacon, chopped to ~2” strips. The BEST addition is a rough chopped onion, approx same size, and it gets so soft and jammy and delicious 🤤 sometime we add a seeded jalapeño chopped and that’s also super tasty and not spicy.
I miss the Braun’s summertime vlogs!! I wish you guys would do ‘Vlogmas in July’ and vlog every day in July like you do in December! I LOVE watching vlogs of the time of year we are currently in and I’ve watched your 2020 summer vlogs a hundred times.
I found Tyler through Jessica's channel. Anyhoozel, Tyler do NOT ever stop being the most detailed, hard-working nerd. I laughed out loud with your footage of the garden name tags with utter silence. You're so funny!
I'm so glad to see your garden updates again : ) I hope "watching the garden grow" will be a regular feature, it's so enjoyable watching the progress. Looking forward to your future vlogs. Nothing better than a vlog from the Brauns.
Loved this vlog!! Reminded me so much of the quarantine vlogs (especially watching the garden grow 😊) which were a big source of comfort during that crazy time. Always great to see what your fam is up to!
I have been having a rough couple of days and watching ya’lls vlogs / other vids takes some stress off of my mind ❤ I’m sure I’m not alone! Thank you guys for being you, the whole family ☺️
We have a Kamado Joe and a Traeger and love and use them both equally and often (weekly)! The deck looks great after all your hard work and I'm excited to watch Jessica's flowers as they grow!! Happy Outdoorsing!! 🌞🪻♨️
We love our big green egg. Every thing we’ve made tastes amazing. We even make homemade pizza. You have to get the pizza stone. It tastes like a coal fire pizza. We have the XL which fits a lot off food. It does take a little bit to get the fire going on the coals, but the taste of the food makes it so worth it.
I’ve missed these vlogs!! Love the garden and home content!! Definitely took me back to the Covid vlogs, which I have watched several times for that reason 😂😂 love you guys!!
I know this might sound weird but I feel like part of why I love watching your vlogs so much is bc it weirdly feels like it’s helping to heal my inner child to just see a healthy loving relationship/PARTNERSHIP! Tyler, I don’t have a great relationship with my dad & I just admire you so much! I’m sure you have your moments of not feeling like the best parent, but those little girls are SO loved & won’t ever have to question it! I hope one day to create my own healthy, loving family 🥺🫶🏼
I love a Braun 50 min vlog!! Definitely a pellet smoker. We have a Pit Boss smoker & it’s equivalent to a Traeger but so much cheaper! We love it because you can grill & smoke on it.
Pellet grill all the way! You won’t regret it! It heats up so fast. You can smoke on the fly. I love that the pellets auto feed into it. Makes it easy for us females to use. You just turn it on like a oven and get to smokin! We love ours!
What about putting a roof on the porch? Instead of fully enclosing it. In Australia it's more common to have a roof on the porch so you can use it year round (and then you don't have to clean the furniture as much). You could also pressure wash the furniture and deck to save you some time
I love how you made the potatoes! I’m my family we call them “foil potatoes” but we make them a little different. Usually we slice the potatoes instead of cubing them, precook the potatoes and we add sliced onions.
Our village actually put in an ordinance that we can't plant or allow new cottonwood trees to grow. One of my favorite summer traditions is setting the cottonwood snow on the ground on fire 🔥. It's very fun😂
Trex gets hot to the point it can't be walked on in bare feet, just something to consider. Most pellet grills can't sear so you might want to look at gravity smokers for something in between a pellet and a green egg.
I'm not sure if someone has already suggested, but you may want to buy an inexpensive sprayer (like for applying lawn treatments) and dedicate it to applying teak oil and/or sealer annually. Spraying let's you get into all the cracks and seams and then you just wipe off any excess. Might not be the vibe you're going for, but it's definitely a time saver.
we just got trex at my childhood home, and it’s truly made such a difference! it doesn’t get hot and there’s been hardly any maintenance so far!! it’s definitely an investment but so worth it
We had the opposite experience, the Trex was so hot to handle we had to use gloves, it was awful to install. Where there was no shade that stuff was searing. The customer used the select grade, pebble grey color so not sure if the different grades make a difference but the select was so hot to handle we decided not to do it at our own house after that misery we went through on the client's different sites lol.
You are such a hard worker! Motivates me to do more… btw always learn something from you. Thanks for this video! Going to save watching the rest of this video later ☺️
We got a pellet smoker (an off brand, not Trager) as a wedding gift a few years ago and we LOVE it. We have tried a lot of different pellets and can usually taste the different flavors. We use it as a regular grill (sort of) as well, to make burgers and stuff. Definitely recommend.
We had teak rockers. Same issue… looked old fairly quickly. We solved the problem by staining it! They look beautiful now. Also, my son in law has 2 egg smoker/grills and LOVES them and our son has a trager and loves that. My point is… don’t think you’ll go wrong with either one
Tyler reminds me of Justin, April’s husband! That really sucks about your table and the upkeep it is each year. We have a metal table with a glass top and it’s been super nice to have! Metal chairs are also a good investment as well! Thanks for sharing some of your life with us! 😀
Loved, loved, loved this vlog!!! Just like the good ol' days of Braun family vlogging, really appreciate Tyler's editing too. This was just so wholesome and wonderful, restored my faith in mankind. Lots of love from Finland! 😍
31:00 we have a traeger and it is my husbands most prized possession! We’ve smoked some of the best food I’ve EVER had on the traeger and it’s so easy to use. Usually around this time costco has an exclusive traeger that is cheaper than the normal models. We bought ours there and the showman threw in a bunch of extra stuff for free. I would highly recommend! We bought ours in 2020 and we’ve never had a single issue with it.
What a gorgeous garden, I never realized the luxury of having a garden until I divorced and moved to an apartment . I have garden envy and can't wait to move now lol
Highly recommend The Big Green Egg. My husband bought one 20 years ago and it’s still going strong. Have only replaced the seal that had loosened causing the temperature to be more difficult to regulate/maintain but that was just this year. Amazing investment especially for someone like you who loves to cook! Food is always amazing whether making a quick grill pizza, an overnight brisket, or smoked pork or chicken thighs. Yum!
Hi Jessica and Tyler! Two things about Trex… It gets VERY hot in the summer and is VERY slippery when it gets wet from rain/snow. I fell down the stairs on my deck and it was not fun. Just some things to consider. It’s beautiful though!
I’m always impressed with how hard Tyler works to keep things nice. I have ADHD and maintaining my house is something I struggle with. To see Tyler so focused and working hard to get stuff done is sometimes awe inspiring to me. 😂
I was thinking the same thing!
Me too! But I have like 10 projects partially done...
Same
They are insanely productive people
A 50 minute Spring vlog from the Brauns?! I love it! 🌸
I had the exact same thought when I saw the notification!!
I totally agree!!!!
Tyler was born to be a “dad” he’s just great telling all of us how to keep everything spic and span 😊
Also the garden footage gave me quarantine/Covid time vlog flashbacks 😂
Your backyard is an oasis. What an incredible space to call your own
You had me at Hi 🥰🥰🥰🥰 she is soo cute!! what a beautiful backyard... What a great yard to raise children!!!
I gasped!!! She is the cutest!!! 🥹🥰
OMG when she said Hi and daddy it warmed my heart. Tyler your such an amazing person, you actually change into work cloths, not my hubby, he says he forgets after he’s done ruining what he had on and it’s usually something new I had just bought him. Alright I’m gonna need every vlog to end with garden shots with birds chirping in the background. I’m so zen right now

That little “hi” was freaking adorable.
I miss “ watching the grass grow “☀️
Man, that part with the plants at the end... Chef's kiss! The wind, the birds... It was a peaceful asmr dream 😍

Wow, Felicity is so smart! Impressive! 😍

OMG A 50 MINUTE VLOG!!! What a great Sat morning surprise!!!
I have been having a rough couple of days and watching ya’lls vlogs / other vids takes some stress off of my mind ❤ I’m sure I’m not alone! Thank you guys for being you, the whole family ☺️
The best surprise on this Saturday is a Braun family vlog!
Might be time to get a shed to store the outdoor furniture for the winter.
Tyler out here making us look like lazy shmucks. 😂
Love the quiet peaceful ending!! Blissful!!
We have a Kamado Joe and a Traeger and love and use them both equally and often (weekly)! The deck looks great after all your hard work and I'm excited to watch Jessica's flowers as they grow!! Happy Outdoorsing!! 🌞🪻♨️

Nice! First installment to "watching the garden grow" cant go wrong with a Braun vlog
Not me copying Tyler's entire grill dinner for Father's Day 2023. Thanks for the inspo!
You have a beautiful home. What a fantastic, peaceful space. ❤
I know this might sound weird but I feel like part of why I love watching your vlogs so much is bc it weirdly feels like it’s helping to heal my inner child to just see a healthy loving relationship/PARTNERSHIP! Not me totally waving back to Gigi from the back seat! 😂😊❤
Every intro has to be felicity saying hi!
Tyler you have a stunning garden. Not to mention all the other up keep your property. You are a awesome father and husband.
Tyler, I’m tired from watching you go go go lol!!! And Felicity is talking…whaaaaat!!! So precious!
Tyler, you are such a hardworker!!! You are inspiring.
We just redid our deck with trexs this past year for all the reasons you mentioned. We love it. Just know it gets even hotter then a wood deck.
These are my favorite kind of vlogs to watch!
😍 I love these kind of vlogs! I missed Tyler's projects and welcome to the cutting board 😆 I love the new rug, it's beautiful 😍
I love a Braun 50 min vlog!! Definitely a pellet smoker. We have a Pit Boss smoker & it’s equivalent to a Traeger but so much cheaper! We love it because you can grill & smoke on it.

Thanks for sharing, always love the cutting board and anything with Tyler Chores! 😂
i throughly enjoyed the up-close shots of the garden with the beautiful outdoor noises in the background. i love your guys’ videos so much

Wow!! Such a work ethic Tyler! Impressive! Backyard looks like an oasis 🤩 Now rest and enjoy it it 😍
I love how you made the potatoes! I’m my family we call them “foil potatoes” but we make them a little different. Usually we slice the potatoes instead of cubing them, precook the potatoes and we add sliced onions.
Im here for the 50 minute spring vlog!

Your family makes my heart warm…love ya’ll. Hope someday your travels bring you to Texas…would love to watch those vlogs!
So fun to watch the video. My weekend was pretty much some of the same things. Great job Tyler. Your backyard is dreamy.
The big green egg is amazing, I highly recommend 😊!!! Great video, looking awesome!!! You Rock Tyler!!!
Trex gets hot to the point it can't be walked on in bare feet, just something to consider. Most pellet grills can't sear so you might want to look at gravity smokers for something in between a pellet and a green egg.
Thoroughly enjoyable!

Good morning everyone!!
Gosh Tyler that was a lot of work & it looks beautiful! And I love the garden 🪴. I bet it going to be a big harvest, just perfect for your family
we just got trex at my childhood home, and it’s truly made such a difference! it doesn’t get hot and there’s been hardly any maintenance so far!! it’s definitely an investment but so worth it

Great video! Unusual for a rug to come folded. It looks beautiful though! Cant wait to see everything grow!

Also… get a green mountain grill. They have so many different sizes, they’re amazing!
You can't go wrong with a Masterbuilt smoker!! We've had one for 4 years now, and LOVE the taste of our food we make in it 🤤
Very CBS Sunday morning there at the end. Loved it 😂❤❤
Loved, loved, loved this vlog!!! Just like the good ol' days of Braun family vlogging, really appreciate Tyler's editing too. This was just so wholesome and wonderful, restored my faith in mankind. Lots of love from Finland! 😍
I always love an extra long Braun family vlog!

Big Green Egg. Absolutely!
I absolutely love your backyard! I always enjoy when you post things there.
This is the best birthday week present ever 😅 a 50 minute productive vlog with the Brauns?! Oh my gosh!
Happy Birthday! And, many happy returns on the day!
Awesome surprise on a Saturday morning!!
Thanks for sharing with the world! Feels so wholesome and relatable. 😊
What a gorgeous garden, I never realized the luxury of having a garden until I divorced and moved to an apartment . I have garden envy and can't wait to move now lol

The dad vlog of all dad vlogs. Loved this!! We rent in a bigger city. Loved watching you guys set up your backyard! Great tips🎉
We added a Pit Boss pellet smoker/grill combo this past year. It has been an amazing addition to our outdoor cooking.
Felicity with 'hi' at the intro ❤️🥰❤️
Pellet smoker 1000%! Everyone in my family has one, and they’re the best! So easy. So consistent.
Dream backyard😍🥰🌸🌸
Yall are such a beautiful family! I enjoy your videos ❤
20 minutes in and I’m saying out loud to myself, “ I hope Tyler gets a power washer when he goes to Lowe’s!” 😅
Same!! Add that to the Lowes list!!!!😂
Seriously, my husband would have cleaned that rug with the power washer and gotten another 5 years out of it! 😆
The longer the better 😊loved the vlog!
I'm watching with my coffee sitting in my back yard looking at the overgrown mess. You give such inspiration!
Me too! Well my mess is mostly exposed dirt as my husband is working on the prep for pouring concrete. I also need to mow the yard today.
One of my favorite vlogs❤. Thank you!!
